Nice video! Looking forward to your update video after your usage. I'm probably going to buy a Mio from their ebay as well.

No update, as I sold it to upgrade to a commercial machine for a business endeavor. The person I sold it to is loving it, I hear.

Update: I bought it. It was just over 1k after tax. Hopefully I feel the same way about it as you do. 🤞

Hope you love it! I think that the 1k price point is good for this type of machine. It is put together well, has quality components, and has more useful features than any other machine in that price range I can think of.

I got a Dialetta Mio recently but have been unable to get a creama. Its just dark black water. My 89 dollar espresso machine has a fantastic creama. Any tips? I adjusted the boiler with the solid basket on and adjusted it to 9 bars while pump was on. Then I got a very small creama that dissappeared in 10 seconds. I'm still using my old espresso machine... Please help me!

@@grahamdougherty226 your old machine likely uses a pressurized portafilter basket. You'll know it is if there is just one tiny hole on the bottom of the basket. You'll likely need a better grinder to pair with the Mio. A better grinder will grind finer and more evenly. This will help the coffee keep pressure while brewing and give you a nice crema. I'm sure you could find a 58mm pressurized basket to use with your Mio, if you can't upgrade your grinder now.

I was thinking of buying QM's new machine pop up, but after a little research like this video makes me doubtful. Mio is manufactured by QM and has the highest error percentage does not inspire confidence.
Also saw an interview with the CEO of QM and he mentions quality is the most important thing for them far too many times to convince me that they really have good quality, too bad I liked all the features on the pop up.

The pop up is a very interesting machine. I don't think Quickmill's quality is suspect. I have been through several of their models, and the companies appear to be top-notch. I believe the issue with the Mio was a batch that had been frozen in transit. With water still in the boilers from testing, that would be a big issue. The problem with the pump mentioned here has happened with many machines, not just Quickmill.

Which bottomless portafilter did you buy from Amazon?

Sorry to get back to you so late, but I can't recall. I have several bottomless portafilter purchases in my Amazon history and am not sure which one it was. However, I think it may be the "Mcbazel 58mm Coffee Bottomless Portafilter".
