    Thank you for sharing your impressions of this brush, Jon! I've been curious about this brush, but the price has kept me from picking one up. The knot sounds very nice. The price seems steep to me for what it is. Thanks!
    Cheers! -Rob

    Great review, Jon. Definitely echo your sentiments on the characteristics of the brush. It’s fantastic but definitely on the pricey side. Hasn’t seemed to slow many folks down though as I typically see these sold out fairly frequently. Keep up the great content!

      No, i don’t believe so, he doesn’t trust his tool, and does very short and many strokes in the same spot and area.
      Long strokes no more than 2 times in the same spot.

    I think the price it a little silly for a mass-produced handle w/a synthetic knot (but I have 3 Simpson synths so I probably shouldn't be throwing stones).
    That knot seems to be identical (or close) to what Muhle has been putting out the last few years.
    My first synth restore some years back is a Purr-Tech (just post the original Plissons). It looks just like the new ones and compares favorably with my newest synthetic knots.
    I still own and use it frequently.

    Nice one Jon. I agree with your findings. If you're looking for a synthetic with backbone, this one would probably fit the bill.

    Hello there and many thanks for the video.
    So far am using PAA Stygian Wisp... By getting Omega Evo 2, will i see any significant difference???
    Would you suggest Thater sunthetic or Omega Evo 2 synthetic?
    Thank tou for your time!!!

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So this is an older video that covers the Omega Evo 1 brush knot. Unfortunately I haven't used the PAA brush, the Evo 2, or the Thater synthetic, however I did want to mention that I did NOT keep the Omega Evo 1 brush as I just didn't enjoy the face feel at the end of the day.

    That's a huge brush! 105m! (344 feet!) 🤣 Busting your balls aside, good video. I like the shape and color and the Evo engraving but the price is too steep for a mass produced product.

    Why do you think this brush is so expensive? What makes omega call that price for this synthetic?

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! If I had to guess, material cost for the handle is some of it, and then material cost of whatever fibers they're using for this knot. Especially with a denser knot, more fibers are being used. Now whether the cost translates to performance improvement is another matter, and pretty subjective.

    • @BlueGearReviews

      @@Latherhog thankyou for the feedback. In your opinion, what synthetic brush would you recommend when it comes to price per performance?

    • @Latherhog

      Blue Gear Check out the Simpson Trafalgar T3 if you’re looking for a synthetic brush that is soft while still having backbone!

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aron Muñoz I haven’t had the chance to try the G4 synthetic brush, but I have heard that it is either the same or a very similar knot to the one found in the Omega EVO.

    I would say a great option for those having an issue dropping badger brushes and went vegan!!! That is my case. I broke the code I still use my badger brushes and promised “no more” but bought three more badgers and one badger bore mix since☹️. I need to look into the Evo no price will stop me I need to save the animals...

    my Simpson T3 Trafalgar is the best brush on the market today it's like buying a $200 badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a badger hair can, cheap to buy,
    i have owned it for 5 years with no problems wheelchair Larry
