Well isn't Soozee genuinly happy serving! Her facial expressions so passionate, and her accent so authentic!~ Even the delicate sounds of the bacon spam will not faze her concentration- wait, yeah no one can resist laughing....But the beauty of her professional serving is so mezmerizing! We truly need people like her!~~
They said in a video from 2014 that if you turn up the volume at some point(I think it was after the French Korean part) you can hear her quietly laughing but I’ve never heard it even after blasting it XD
Spam is actually really good :) You're just eating it raw/out of the can. What you need to do is fry it up in a skillet (the juices work well as a frying oil of sorts). This takes away from some of the gritty taste coming from the juices. After that you can do what you want with it, although I would recommend pairing it with something that will absorb the remaining salts like rice, pasta, or potatoes. Add a vegetable to the side and it makes for a pretty good meal. Not quite for some, though, because it is pork based.
Ah, yes, but this sort of spam came long at least 30 years before the internet even existed (hard to believe nowadays, I know). I recommend giving it a try if you have a chance.
Silentgrace11 Well, depends on the type of SPAM (mail that is)!!! As, spam mail in the terms of random flyers, ads, coupons, magazines, etc. have been around just about as long as the printed word on peoples doors as hand written messages even before there was paper, but after paper and pencil and the ability to make flyers came well then junk mail like that even if it was just around town grew rampant!!! GAH, THE NEVER ENDING PILES OF SPAM SHALL MULTIPLY LIKE UGLY DEFORMED PILES OF MULTI-COLORED ORIGAMI RABBITS 'TIL IT TAKES OVER TE WORLD!!! LOL!!!
TheMechanicalGirl999 True true, but typically when people refer to spam they mean that which is derrived from interweb sources. Also, plot bunnies are adorable, so multicolored origami spam rabbits are probably amazing =u=
Near .N I mean, I've never treated it as lunch meat, but to each their own y'know? Even if it is, then have you ever noticed how amazing a deli sandwich is /after/ you toasted it? Yum! >u> And spam is okay out of the can, it's just preferred cooked by most folks. Same with lunch meat. A toasty cheese with ham is the bomb =u=.
I noticed that a lot of people eat spam uncooked? Like, I fry it and so does everyone else I know and I'm so weirded out knowing that not a lot of people do that?
I just replayed the bacon spam noise and your guys' reactions at least 5 times because I was laughing so hard that I couldn't see or hear anything! X'D I was crying
***** hahahah you hawaiians crack me up tho foreals i know plenty of ppl that eat cooked spam w/ rice here in texas so.. TEXAS represent! yeah!! fuckin lames hawaii the only state that refers to their inhabitants as hawaiians. bitch im from california but we dont go around claimin to be californians hahahahahaha yall crack me up
Spam is one of those things that can be eaten right out of the package (like hot dogs or bologna) but are much tastier when they are cooked more. Fried bologna has a much more intense taste than bologna right out of the package, and Spam does too. Spam cut into small cubes and fried with diced peppers, onions and cubed potatoes and served with two fried eggs on top, that's a breakfast that keeps you going while chopping wood or shoveling the driveway.
I swear if one more person says that your not supposed to eat spam "raw". SPAM IS PRECOOKED. It's perfectly fine eaten straight out of the package, that's why people use them on picnics, camping trips, in the military etc....
It is pre-cooked (just like "raw" hot dogs and bologna), but it was made to be cooked further and served hot. The reason the can is shaped like that is so the top can be partially opened and the can can sit directly on a fire.
Hey that's what they talking about. They say fry it because it's not safe to eat but they mean it's better to be fried. If S&M want to inrtoduce how korean eat the spam, it's completely wrong we never eat in raw spam it's too greasy. We just love the combination of rice and fried spam. Guilty pleasure
Nadeera RAR Hey Nadeera, we actually do have Spam here in Indonesia, usually in supermarkets with imported products such as Ranch Market or Kem Chick. It's very similar to Ma Ling (if you know of that), and it's not the same as corned beef. Spam is mainly made of pork.
Never in my life have I heard that you eat any kind of spam raw. Everyone I know cooks them. However, seeing that it turns out a lot of people eat them raw, I can only suggest you guys to try frying spam. Both are edible, but you might want to try frying them to get a new sensation of spam.
Seriously Martina....The saying is whatever floats your boat because there are many different materials that are made out of boats such as wood or metal. So whatever you choose it will still float. So basically whatever choice you make its your choice.
My mom is Filipino and for as long as I can remember, whenever we went to a Filipino gathering, there was always spam incorporated in something. It's like a staple. Vienna sausages, too. At least for Filipinos that immigrated to America.
Spam meat does come precooked but you are suppose to cook it further. I come from a Jamaican family we cook it further in skillet, dice up some tomatoes and onions and cook it till the meet is a reddish color. We serve it with a side of white rice and add hot sauce. It's not amazing but its actually pretty good. Eating spam that way is basically the equivalent of eating hotdog out of the package without cooking or boiling it. That's pretty gross.. Why would you eat it that way? :c
BonebabeXD If you talk about the sausage in the hot dog,you are wrong. In many countries(including mine) we eat the sausage both cooked and non-cooked.It goes well with white cheese+tomatoe salad for example. Different cultures, different tastes.
sausage and hot dogs are two different things in america.. we eat sausages without cooking them but not hot dogs and Jamaica we do the same and i know of there other coutries that cook hot dogs during a BBQ sooooo.. where are you from?
The part in 7:10 when soozee is trying to make a french gesture, but can't say anything because of the laughter is great. I think this is your funnyest video.
Here in Hawai'i we eat lots of Spam. If you think of Spam here you are probably are thinking of Spam Musubi. Spam Musubi is a block of rice with a slice of spam on, wrapped in nori. Other than that we usually eat it fried with rice.
I love Suzy, she's awesome. XD Spam uses... let's see, umm... Oh, I know! My brother and I once ate spam as a 4am christmas 'snack' because our parents wouldn't get up and get us food. :) (Well, opened and chewed anyway, there was a minimal amount of actual attempts at digestion) The cereal cupboard above the fridge was too high to reach even from on the counter, and since I was only 5, and he was 3, opening cans seemed an easier prospect than continuing to fight with the peanut butter jar lid...we tried of course, but one of my parents must have over-tightened the jar in an effort to prevent us opening it.. it worked, and they got spam juice, and bits of "rejected" (read chewed up and spat out) spam on their kitchen floor for their trouble. Lesson to be learned: Provide easy non-spam snacks for your kids.
^yes ! I always tell people that (especially to people who've never tried it before! or who've tried it and hated it) I gave my haole friend her first spam musubi and shes loved them ever since! lol
It's actually called Spam musubi. Original Musubi is a rice ball (actually slightly triangular in shaped because it if formed by the contours of the inside of the preparers' hands) wrapped with nori (seaweed). Some times there is a sour plum (ume) in the center of it.
I used to be a HUGE fan of spam as a kid in Korea. I was still a kid when I moved to the states and one of the first things we bought for food was spam. It was disgusting. It just tastes different, period. Cooked or not. I'm sure it doesn't taste that much better but it does taste different. I was so happy to hear that I could eat Spam in the US and was horribly disappointed when I tried.
Fried spam and macaroni and cheese is delicious. Also, try frying up a thin slice and putting it between two slices of cheese when you make grilled cheese. SUPER YUMMY!!
THAT... SOUND... MARTINA. Your reaction, killed me!!! I laughed so hard, I sprained a rib. I swear. It was AMAZING. I replayed it over and over, and I have watched it so many times... EVERYTIME it is reccomended, I watch it. IT NEVER GETS OLD. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!
Hands down one of my favorite episodes! I've watched you two when there was 1,000 subcribers. You two are like modern day Lucy & Ricky Arnaz. I'm so happy with your success in Korea and abroad.
you know spam isn't bad at all. you guys are eating it like typical americans and are not cooking it first. i put spam on my fried rice and spam is always something my family had in our food cabinet. spam is one of my faves.
Stop. Saying. That. They. Need. To. Fry. The. Spam. It tastes the same whether fried or not. It's pre-cooked. It'll just improve the texture but it won't change the fact that it's a salty, salty meat mixture. Though, I like spam musubi...
How come I've never eaten a fried spam... Thank you comments, the next time I try it , I'll fry it before... We never fry it here, so I didn't even know... and that's why, maybe , I really disliked it :D
slice it as thin as you can and fry it much better than straight out the can,it tastes like slimy bologna out of the can but if you fry it it comes off more hammish
whoever edited this video killed me. I have died from laughter. RIP my abs and sides as they have split. the noises just really made this hysterical to me.
The "Sexy Food Porn" shots were possibly one of the most horrible things I've ever seen on the internet. And I mean...I've seen some shit. Huuuuhh....*-shudder-*
It's precooked. Perfectly safe. One of Spam's marketing techniques is to recommend you bring it with you camping or hiking, because you can eat it from the can with a spoon.
In England (or maybe just northern England) its often rolled in batter and fried in chip shops and served with fish or just by itself with chips. Thats called a spam fritter and tbh it's really good.
Spam actually taste quite good. Its just very salty and "strange". Ive tryed it raw and ive cooked it. I would prefer cooked. Altho i do not eat it very often its like leftover fat from meat from factories and processed random shiz (why do i eat it???)
If it makes you feel any better it might not be pork. No one knows what it is. It was more popular during WWII and the Great Depression in the US. That's why most Americans that actually eat it are older. It's kinda classified as poor people food.
Simon and Martina, I live in Hawaii and you can get almost everything in Spam here. Spam sushi rolls, spam nigiri, spam and egg sushi, teri(yaki) spam burger at McDonald's, spam and sausage and rice breakfast at McDonald's, spam and saltines LEI (hilarious, yes the Hawaiian lei you wear on your neck), spam bento, spam loco moco, and so many different spam flavors. Hawaii is OBSESSED with spam
I love spam but, I usually get the cans with less sodium. Anyway, I've used it for a number of things. Spam egg and cheese sandwiches (with runny eggs), spam and potatoes, spam breakfast casseroles, and my personal favorite spam musubi. Soooo gooood~
As I understand it, the Korean thing with Spam dates back to the early '50's during the Korean War and afterward. There was a great deal of poverty, what with the war and millions of refugees, and a lot of Korean people built communities around the American army camps. As a result, lots of American stuff made its way to the locals via the black market. A popular dish developed whose main meat component was Spam and hot dogs served as a jigae. As the country recovered, lots of people still liked their "Camp Jigae", and Spam became a beloved food item.
You can cut it up into roughly 1.5cm cubes and fry them until crispy and add them to a salad. It's really good. The saltiness is a nice break between the watery unsalted vegetables. Grated cheese and a thick saucy dressing like ranch works good with the spam salad too.
ROFLMAO....that sound. That sound of spam sliding out of the can..hahahahahahaha and your reactions to it. Hilarious. I've stopped watching my dramas for now and been marathoning your videos (and re-watching old ones) and *this* spam video, I think, is one your best ones. I don't eat spam all the time because of the salt content, but when I do I use it in fried rice/kimchi fried rice or make spam musubi.
I love spam sandwiches. Born and raised in America. Toasted bread, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, salt, pepper, spam, and sometimes green tobasco. One of my favorites ever.
So much for watching this in "secret" while at work.. had to explain why I busted out laughing at my desk and proceeded to cry I was laughing so hard.. I needed that.. thanks guise!!! That look you both made when the bacon Spam came out.. classic. Anyways.. In my younger years, my dad would slice up the Spam and pan fry it, then serve it on a bed of rice with a fried egg on top. We ate that quite a bit, and till this day, that's how I prefer to eat my Spam. I've used it diced up in fried rice as well.
I hadn't understand last time I saw this video Martina: No! we're in a french restaurant you're embarassing me! Simon: Je suis un avion... I seriously laughed
That *actual spam sound* never fails to make me laugh.
It's Soozee, not Suzy
Yes. Of course. I totaly knew that. Just going to revise that. I was totaly not thinking of Lee Minho and Suzy during this time....
I've watched this so many times and I still don't understand how Soo Zee didn't laugh cuz I was crying from laughing so hard
SAME AFFF
They said in a video from 2014 that if you turn up the volume at some point(I think it was after the French Korean part) you can hear her quietly laughing but I’ve never heard it even after blasting it XD
You know the video is old when Simon doesn't have a beard, and Martina doesn't have her tattoos coloured xD
You know the video is old when Simon has hair. XD

it is lunch meat you shouldn't have to cook itl

fry it and eat with rice and fried eggs and kimchi yaaass
'Spam + eggs → fry' is better than 'Spam + fried eggs'
I recommend try that :D
In Hawaii we eat Spam fried with rice, eggs, or in sandwich with mayo, fried rice. We never eat them right out of the can.
I eat spam out of the can
Then end up chugging 30 bottles to wash away the taste
I've f####### hated spam
When I lived in Hawaii I was forced to eat mitsu what ever it was called, it was fried on seaweed with bread I thinj
kevinhh19 Yup! I also live in Hawaii and it tastes better pan fried with eggs and rice or to put in in friend rice :333
kevinhh19 I live in Mauritius and here too I use to eat it the way you said xD LOL
I noticed that a lot of people eat spam uncooked? Like, I fry it and so does everyone else I know and I'm so weirded out knowing that not a lot of people do that?
It's a luncheon meat, so it's normal to eat it "raw"
It's supposed to be that if you're out on a trip or something, you can open it up and eat it just like that.
+garystfu Yeah it tastes better when it's pan fried.
That would be me, haha I love it uncooked. My boyfriend on the other hand, only eats it fried !
I just replayed the bacon spam noise and your guys' reactions at least 5 times because I was laughing so hard that I couldn't see or hear anything! X'D I was crying
Hhahahahaa me too!!!
Glad I'm not the only one to find it amusing! :)
Me too! I think I've watched it like 20 times now
Right?! It's just too funny to watch only once!
why eat spam raw? :(
pan fry a bit
True
***** yah but spam straight out of the can is disgusting. It's best served fried with rice. Source: we love that here in Hawaii.
Excll this Hawaiian knows whats up
***** hahahah you hawaiians crack me up tho foreals
i know plenty of ppl that eat cooked spam w/ rice here in texas so..
TEXAS represent! yeah!!

That's hilarious.... you must not be from SoCal, cause' we all call ourselves Californian.
6:59 that sound was so funny I couldn't stop laughing for five minutes! I'm actually crying now it was so funny! I love you Simon and Martina!
I die laughing every time I watch 7:00
Yep
Favorite part, I keep coming back for this portion.
Cook that spam on a pan, and eat that spam with rice to combat the saltiness. Delicious.
What I think SPAM stands for:
Super
Processed
Artificial
Meat
Hopie Hope or spicey ham

We know that smartass. But everybody knows that Spam is better (and loses that gross jello-like ooze on the outside) when you cook it first.
Jimmylqd people arent saying that because they think its raw...they are saying that because it taste 1000000 times better fried or cooked again
Hey that's what they talking about. They say fry it because it's not safe to eat but they mean it's better to be fried. 234kwon Frying it doesn't change flavor unless u season it again
English subs now up, but that dude without a beard looks weird!
i'm only watching this to re-live the glory that is the SPLORP sound of that bacon spam...i laughed til i cried when i first saw it so long ago...
Wait.. I can tell by the coloring of the tattoo that this is a rerun!
Hey can someone tell what actually spam made of? Because I don't think we have it here in Indonesia. But we do have Corned beef is it the same?
He does look weird, who is he?
Nadeera RAR Hey Nadeera, we actually do have Spam here in Indonesia, usually in supermarkets with imported products such as Ranch Market or Kem Chick. It's very similar to Ma Ling (if you know of that), and it's not the same as corned beef. Spam is mainly made of pork.
05:35 Je suis un avion, vroom vroom vroom, medem, runway le close, bonjur le spam
You gotta fry them up xDD its a lot yummier
or you can microwave them butttttt frying them is definitely better :33
Oh and with rice xDDDDDD to help with the saltiness of spam in general :33
Haha yup! When I was younger my mum would dip slices of spam into egg and then fry them. :P
Ember Castillo i'd never tried the egg thing before doee
StrawberryBAKA Try using Spam in place of the Hamburger in Loco Moco yummy.
Never in my life have I heard that you eat any kind of spam raw. Everyone I know cooks them. However, seeing that it turns out a lot of people eat them raw, I can only suggest you guys to try frying spam. Both are edible, but you might want to try frying them to get a new sensation of spam.

Spam uses... let's see, umm...
Oh, I know! My brother and I once ate spam as a 4am christmas 'snack' because our parents wouldn't get up and get us food. :) (Well, opened and chewed anyway, there was a minimal amount of actual attempts at digestion)
The cereal cupboard above the fridge was too high to reach even from on the counter, and since I was only 5, and he was 3, opening cans seemed an easier prospect than continuing to fight with the peanut butter jar lid...we tried of course, but one of my parents must have over-tightened the jar in an effort to prevent us opening it.. it worked, and they got spam juice, and bits of "rejected" (read chewed up and spat out) spam on their kitchen floor for their trouble.
Lesson to be learned: Provide easy non-spam snacks for your kids.
in Hawaii we cook the spam lmao its better if u cook a thin slice spam.
^yes ! I always tell people that (especially to people who've never tried it before! or who've tried it and hated it) I gave my haole friend her first spam musubi and shes loved them ever since! lol
Spam Isn't bad if you fry it up first. For real haha
We fry spam before eating it
I prefer spam just as it is, straight out the can
In Hawaii, a slice of Spam is served warmed with teriyaki sauce, placed on a slab of sushi rice, and wrapped with seaweed, or 'nori'.
Yeeeessss!! I remember eating that when I was in Hawaii it was so good. If I remember correctly it's called musubi??
It's actually called Spam musubi. Original Musubi is a rice ball (actually slightly triangular in shaped because it if formed by the contours of the inside of the preparers' hands) wrapped with nori (seaweed). Some times there is a sour plum (ume) in the center of it.
I stumbled upon you guys on accident, and now I can't stop watching your videos. Thanks for ruining my productivity. Also I love you. :P
Hahaha I laughed so hard at 7:03 - the SOUND of that SPAM!!! eeewwww x_x

you know spam isn't bad at all. you guys are eating it like typical americans and are not cooking it first. i put spam on my fried rice and spam is always something my family had in our food cabinet. spam is one of my faves.
im an american and I pan fry my spam >.> Eating it like they are is like eating cold, wet bologna
They are Canadians -_-
I don't enjoy spam, but I admit it tastes much better fried than it does straight out of the can...
Chocolatelover12346"like typical americans" not tht they "Are americans"
I still don't get why they have to stereotype Americans, I mean why Americans? Why can't it be any other country?
It's better pan fried
Omg, I was crying from laughing so hard :3
Simon's face!
Haha I love how you matched the class of spam with plastic sporks
Spam is only good fried up in a pan lol
Fallon Paul try it with white rice!
Fallon Paul Ain't nobody got time for that! 😂😂
I brought 5 pounds of spam while visiting foreign relatives too.
Fried spam, the man of the house

"Le runway is le closed"
I still come back to this, years layer just for that sound effect, and the faces you make lol.
Love is feeding each other spam.
Stop. Saying. That. They. Need. To. Fry. The. Spam. It tastes the same whether fried or not. It's pre-cooked. It'll just improve the texture but it won't change the fact that it's a salty, salty meat mixture. Though, I like spam musubi...

BEST THING EVER.
Martina's face when Susie plopped the spam on the plate😂

I've never had spam...I've been curious.
It's much better sliced and fried than right out of the can. It's actually quite good with fried eggs.

It's precooked. Perfectly safe. One of Spam's marketing techniques is to recommend you bring it with you camping or hiking, because you can eat it from the can with a spoon.

but it looks like dog food.
LOL.. if it matters, I've seen "turkey" SPAM in the States, but haven't tried it yet..
I actually feel scared here.
I don't know, SPAM really doesn't look appetizing. In my eyes.
Spam actually taste quite good. Its just very salty and "strange". Ive tryed it raw and ive cooked it. I would prefer cooked. Altho i do not eat it very often its like leftover fat from meat from factories and processed random shiz (why do i eat it???)
Altho it only taste "quite good cooked
If it makes you feel any better it might not be pork. No one knows what it is. It was more popular during WWII and the Great Depression in the US. That's why most Americans that actually eat it are older. It's kinda classified as poor people food.
they were supposed to cook it
We didn't know back then. We know now though :)
You can eat it without cooking
It's already "cooked."
Usually you slice it and brown each side in a pan. Actually makes a great addition to a fried egg sandwich.
I miss this old Martina and Simon but mostly when Simon seemed normal and had personality and was happy…I’m sad
what float your boat vs what sinks your boat. ie what ever keeps your boat a float. Your losing your English metaphors... lol
In addition to what PANLORD98 said:
*floats
*whatever
*afloat
Simon and Martina,
I live in Hawaii and you can get almost everything in Spam here.
Do you guys ever lie about being American lol
They're Canadian actually.
I found myself back to the pre-beard era of Simon
As a person who genuinely enjoy cooked spam, it is freaking hilarious watching them eating spam like this...
this is one of my favorite episodes :D
I love spam but, I usually get the cans with less sodium. Anyway, I've used it for a number of things. Spam egg and cheese sandwiches (with runny eggs), spam and potatoes, spam breakfast casseroles, and my personal favorite spam musubi. Soooo gooood~
Soozee in the beginning getting the spam out of the package, hilarious 😂
As I understand it, the Korean thing with Spam dates back to the early '50's during the Korean War and afterward. There was a great deal of poverty, what with the war and millions of refugees, and a lot of Korean people built communities around the American army camps. As a result, lots of American stuff made its way to the locals via the black market. A popular dish developed whose main meat component was Spam and hot dogs served as a jigae. As the country recovered, lots of people still liked their "Camp Jigae", and Spam became a beloved food item.
the sound from the can of Bacon Spam was classic!!! I laughed so hard!!!!
The thought of eating it raw has never once crossed mind and I’m just 🤯🤣
There's an entire top chef episode dedicated to making spam into gourmet dishes. You can reference that.
I just noticed this, but could the fork and knife that you use also double as chopsticks? They seem especially pointy at the other end.
I hadn't understand last time I saw this video
Martina: No! we're in a french restaurant you're embarassing me!
Simon: Je suis un avion...
I seriously laughed
This is the best 10mins i ever had on youtube. Thanks guys. Yup..the spam's allrite
Than you Simon and Martina, for letting me feel like the Joker for 10min. Oh god, Simon's face at the third spam X'D
SO this is my FAVORITE video so far in terms of comedy!!:) lmao! soo funny!!! I loved the spam sounds hehehehe
This is the most funny video of Simon&Martina I've ever seen :)
