It worked. One has to depress the remote depending on the color of the learn switch. So while the above video producer presses 4 times, you may have to depress a different #, depending on your model door opener. The directions that came with the door opener weren't clear to me, because they show different door openers in the instructions, so I'm thinking I have to somehow sync the new remote with my old remote. Also the directions say if one is having problems syncing the remote to email them and then they'll email you back to get a link to watch a video. Why not bypass all that crap and just post a video "how to" link in the instructions?
When I programmed these my original remote had to be reprogrammed as well...because it stopped working... but you are right about a product video...that is why I did this one.. and mine isn't official

After trying other program videos, I stumbled on your video again, and of course, it worked. The other videos tell you to press the "program button", but this remote doesn't have one. I was scratching my head and saying "how in the hell did I program the other garage door, but I can't program this door". Again, your video was a big help.
If you have a chamberlain, it will be the factory type settings instructions...this is aftermarket universal.... so it is tons different.... on yours you should be able to read off the garage door motor in your garage. There should be a button to push near the top of the back of it..

hi, my liftmaster garage door opener was made in 1990. it doesnt have a learn button. will the 893max work? and if so, any special instructions?
