Nicely done, Moe! I replaced mine the first week I bought the truck. It’s a heavy tail gate and those struts do not live a long life. Although, mine were original Nissan parts so the PO was living with them a long time. Such an easy upgrade/replacement that make your ownership more enjoyable!
Great video! I'm interested in how this ladder design will hold up over time. I like the lower profile of it vs the Gobi, but would be concerned about having less rigidity. In my case, I already have a ladder though so I'm not in the market. One thing I'd suggest though is to reverse your hatch struts from the way you installed them so it matches the direction of the OEM ones you took off. You have the wide end on the hatch side, and skinny end on the vehicle side, so when the hatch is shut there's a possibility of water pooling and getting down in there.
Hey thanks for watching! I did notice after the fact, that I installed the stuts opposite of how they came off. I already flipped them. As for longevity of the ladder, I'll be sure to upload a video if it doesn't hold up. I think it will, but only time will tell.
always so nice to add some upgrades to Xterra! )) and roXterra has some really great products ! I did the ladder for my work van sometime ago as a test now I think i need to start working one for Xterra soon lol
@@_moes_garage_ Funny enough in my next video I also talk about him that I recorded some time ago what a coincidence lol oh my friends told me why dont you start selling some kids or stuff you do... but dont want to get into that yet just simply dont have enough time to fabricate stuff . So only make limited number of Items for my friends )) Thank you buddy!
@@DIY_AUTO_PHOTO hey that's awesome, can't wait for your next video now. I'm excited to see what you start making. Also, I actually met Robert from roxterra. I went on a cross country road trip and I was supposed to take the X but the timing chain had to be fixed right before we left. So I left it at a mechanic and took a rental. On my way back home, I stopped by Arizona and picked up the roxterra ladder. He's a really cool dude.
@@_moes_garage_ I think your X played you... so you could go to him and buy the ladder LOL but all jokes aside nice ! and yeah he is a cool guy for sure )
I haven't but DIY auto & photo did. From his video, it seems like if your xterra doesn't get quiet after a few minutes at idle, your fan clutch could be the culprit.

Haha yes! Mine were OEM too. These McMaster Carr ones are sweet.

Yes he does! And I'm always happy to support a small business so if you start selling xterra stuff, let me know 😁👍

Haha yeah probably 🤣 but the xterra is actually wifey's car and she's the one that wanted a ladder. 😁
Great video, clear instructions. Do you know if you can attach some sort of license plate holder to these?
The guy I bought it from doesn't make a licence plate holder for it but I'm sure you can make something yourself. The tubing is 1 inch in diameter.
Looks good 👍
Thanks!
@_moes_garage_ out of curiosity, have you ever done a fan clutch on these? How to diagnose if it's bad?

@@_moes_garage_ awesome thanks for pointing me to his video
@@jpadilla0515 no problem! Stay tuned for Friday, I'll make a short on it 👍
You have a lot of junk it the back of your car 😑
In my defence, this is wifey's car... Hence the "mama" sticker.. 🤣
Thanks for watching tho!
