3. WLR 2. Self Titled 1. Die Lit Front to back self titled I think every song is good but Die Lit a wild vibe, brings me back to that time of life. The comparison to the favorite parts of movies was spot on... I was actually at Rolling Loud when this dropped, first ever festival, WATTBA looking back lol PS: Yah Mean best song on self titled 🤝
think Kanye was moreso involved with the music making process than actually producing any beats by himself, that's why he doesn't have any production credits but he was still heavily involved, Carti said in a recent interview that it was Kanye that helped bring his vision of WLR to life and make more experimental stuff
I'm a really big Kendrick fan I found yall when I was looking for details about his next album Yall made a really good first impression Yall are my second favourite podcast after the infamous this is not a cult podcast
I hate that people always claim that self titled was his best project because in my opinion it was Carti's most mainstream sounding project and the least experimental. I value innovation and individuality. I enjoy the project but I feel like its become the default for "loose" Carti fans to refer to as his best
Last comment: I was introduced to him thru self-titled but became a stan after die lit, everything about that project from the punk aesthetic to the minimal, experimental beats really made me fall in love with what he was doing
@@NFRPodcast ain’t my type it was alright but it wasn’t something amazing, if he used the songs he made in 2018/19 and put it on WLR it would prolly be 1.

1.wlr 2.die lit 3.self tittled Die lit almost no skips in the album but when i listened to songs off die lit I wasn’t really focus on the album I was just listening to the songs, as I had bet really gotten into carti as an artist. If I was a carti fan before die lit than this list would prolly be totally different. I got into carti because his leaks are so fire. But whole lotta red was on another level of production and obviously I’m not listening to carti music for the bars it’s for the instrumentals and his Adlibs can just blend with that.
Die Lit is my personal favorite Carti album. His self titled tape is really close, but Die Lit is more consistent and has better features. Production was fire on both also.
@@NFRPodcast One obviously the stacked feature list and two I like the production better on it. Are you guys hyped for J Coles interlude dropping tonight?!?!?!
@@NFRPodcast the Punk leanings of the album seem much more experimental and comparable with something like Death Grips and JPEGMAFIA. The jagged vocals and delivery mixed with the great trap production just makes to me a really cohesive punk trap hybrid that I haven’t seen done before. It’s like the Yeezus of trap music, a mainstream artist going heavily experimental with their sound and delivery, innovating a genre in very subtle ways. I’m hoping to see people influenced by this sound.
1:50 it was engineered to be like that Luke. It was engineered to sound all over the place on purpose. 1:58 In my opinion, Art Dealer didn’t even have the best produced songs on Whole Lotta Red, for me that would go to F1lthy. 2:54 I’m pretty sure the only reason why carti included die lit type songs on Whole Lotta Red to everyone just in case the listener didn’t like the punk style, and this was the reason why the tracklist was way too long which I do agree with you guys on
Love seeing other opinions. My personal is WLR #1 because it’s clearly the most individual sound Carti has ever had. He’s not rapping on the same beats as everyone else and the punk aesthetic offers freshness to experimental rap. His flow and lyrics are way more versatile and different than past projects where he would over repeat the same bars and flow.
To your point that it didn’t feel like a carti project I feel like it falls under something Kanye said. I can’t give you College dropout again but I can give you the best 808s and the best Graduation. Love the videos 💛

Personally : 3. Self Titled 2. WLR 3. Die Lit All fantastic thou imo and each tape ages well and has its own vibe you can go back to for different reasons
WLR had to be a bit all over the place firstly because he waited so long to drop it and people wanted the music and secondly because he needed to keep his old audience. U can’t grow a fanbase then completely change ur sound and expect them to stay so the carti songs that sounded like the carti we knew was to keep them happy whilst he went into his new era. It was almost like incase his fans didn’t like the new music and we all did more or less but we’re also happy he had some older tracks. In hindsight it’s fine being 24 songs long cus he’s waited over 3 years for the next drop So even if people only listened to half at it at first, over time they’d have to listen to the rest cus if they want something from him that’s the most recent thing
There is no album ever by Playboi Carti that is worth listening to, he just repeats the same freeze, or a couple of words over and over again with aye afterwards
I still firmly believe die lit is the best released carti album and one of the best rap albums of all time. However, WLR version 1 probably would've been the best if it was released.
Die lit most consistent but man WLR as an artistic venture was just so perfect man. I love the energy of WLR. The beats are insane and carti kills it! And you can see how it’s inspired a whole new punk-trap sound with artists like sofaygo, ken carson etc. Plus the vamp-rick owens style in fashion. Trust me wait till we start getting WLR concert footage.
