If the court continues to keep their shadow docket rulings and rationale secret, then those rulings should be ignored. No transparency - no compliance.
Remember SCOTUS only has power if their rulings are followed, they have no teeth as they say. So states need to start ignoring these unconstitutional rulings.
What rationale, they have no Constitutionally legal rationale for their radical political decisions. It's based on undermining the rule of law/imposing the sheer political will of men on society.
Can you imagine if the Supreme Court was held accountable for what they do in session. Imagine making them responsible for themselves. They are supposed to set the bar, not crawl under it!💙🇺🇸💙

About time. Our system of checks and balance currently does not check nor balance the SCOTUS. Power to the people, not unchecked power to 9 unelected lifetime appointees.
There is a school of thought has it that although Federal Court justices have lifetime tenure, Congress maintains the power that allows them to transfer judges from one federal court to another, including Supreme Court judges. Congress might, with enough votes, pass a law whereby Supreme Court justices are rotated in through the 13 circuits for fixed terms.

@@marcberman6920 Agreed we need a filibuster breaking Democratic Senate majority, for many reasons benefitting the people, including EXPANDING the number of justices to compensate for the increased caseload due to population growth as this would both allow for better efficiency in case processing on both the emergency and standard dockets as well as balancing the political power of the members. This is only a start however when the level of corruption is lifetime ingrained as now with the increasing depravity infecting the Republican party in particular. The Democratic party is far from perfect but has been better at policing their own.
Should be COMPLETE transparency and term limits, with MUCH more oversight.

We need prohibitions from taking bribes, not transparency in taking bribes. Transparency is irrelevant to someone ensconced in their job as judge for life who has no shame or morals, like Alito and Thomas.

They need to remove life time appointments and replace it with term limits. They are need to add checks and balances against the justices and make it easier to remove them when they have been taking bribes for verdicts.
This isn’t much but at least it is a start on the road to reform. Much more has to be done. Dick Durbin must step up to be more proactive in his role or step aside. Sheldon Whitehouse would be far better suited for that role.
Every SCOTUS Justice receives an yearly budget that they can use at their discretion without having to file expense reports (and receipts). They can basically pocket the public funds with no questions asked. It would be very fair to have the SCOTUS follow the same processes and laws regular citizens do, especially international anti-bribery laws (they currently get away with that as well).
Congress has the authority to criminalize behavior. Pass legislation to make "gifts" to sitting federal judges (or their family members) a crime, with a stiff 10-15 year sentence (with a mandatory minimum). Same for judges...make it a crime for a sitting federal judge to accept a "gift"...either to themselves or to a family member. Judges can't rule on cases from a jail cell. These steps don't require a constitutional amendment...get it done!!!
Alito's wording in the recent gerrymandering case could just as well come from Ku-Klux-Clan. A total disgrace.

Bring down the veil of secrecy of SCOTUS for the sake of transparency and accountability.
Stronger bills needs to come out for supreme court justices that are making decisions violating civil rights, checks and balances are needed

Every single decision made by the Supreme Court has to be video and audio recorded so the people can see the process and explanation of the decision being made to be made law that will resolve any issue that needs to be resolved ! The court mustn’t be allowed to make federal laws that are used to govern our country by secret discussions and arguments that we are not allowed access to understand the legal standing that was used to justify the decision! In what universe would the Supreme Court need total secrecy to decide on a case? And not provide any records of how they came to the final decision, and who is the proper person to make decisions without the correct and appropriate evidence and legal precedent that would justify the law!

All of the Justices on the US Supreme Court should be replaced with judges who are voted onto the bench by a popular vote for a term no longer than 20 years and no older than 75. The justices must follow rules of conduct that are not written by them but by the people.

What has happened to all of our checks and balances? Too many people & entities are not doing their part. Its a great bill but i don't think anything will restore my faith and trust in the supreme court or in congress. If Dem win back congress and the white house and they don't deal with the voting right act so no politician can ever screw with it again gov. might never get my trust back.
