One of the more prolific instrumental bands from The Philippines. The complete name was Jose Mari Gonzales & The Electromaniacs. Organized and managed by the popular Filipino actor, the band members consisted originally of Ernie Delgado (lead), Gene Generoso (rhythm), Joey Gordon (bass) and Lito Toribio (drums). Gene and Joey soon left and were replaced by Chito Perez (2nd lead) and Emil Caballero (bass). They were playing in the style of The Ventures with a blend of country and blues influences. Their signature tune was Lovers guitar.

Palagi rin silang guest stars sa mga movies ng Sampaguita Pics. particular kapag kay Sir JMG na palabas kasi yun ang nakalagay sa drums . By the way hindi lang mga grandparents ang naalala ko rito pati mismo si Sir Jose Mari. Way back 2013 or 14 naging OJT trainee kasi ako dati sa Cinema Studio na hawak nya. Very humble, palatawa, literal na cool na school rocker at talagang poging pogi parin kahit may edad na . Lodi yan. Sabi nya kasi samen kaya hindi na sya nag artista kasi mas gusto nalang nya maging producer. Salamat sa mga alaala at mga advice/learning about desk mixing Sir JMG. May you rest and Peace.

Everytime I here this song it reminds me when I was a toddler and watch my uncles, aunts and their friends dance to this tune on Saturday afternoon back in the 60s.

Hindi natin makakalimutan ang instrumental song na Lovers Guitar at I Miss You So ng the Electrimaniacs, managed by Jose Mari Gonzales na tinugtog naman ni Ernie Delgado, sa transistor radio lang natin naririnig yan nung panahong 60s, halos wala pang kuryente sa mga bayan bayan, generator lang ang gamit sa mga sayawan at kasalan, very exciting na marinig kahit mga señor na ngayon,

This was the opening piece of Mr Gary Sicat in his radio program “Ang Bagong Dobledoble Lamang” in DWAR radio station Cabanatran City. It was then a very popular request and dedication musical radio program in the ‘70s.
Yes, I used to listen to that program where you could hear the requested songs by listeners, letter senders, twice. It was very popular in Nueva Ecija during those days.

The guitar in itself revives my fondness of the musical instrument I grew up with. May I suggest that a singer does the lyrics for every melody being played. It will be a complete feeling of being back home in P.I. Subsequently, keep going with the instrumental and again play the guitar as you go with another piece and again sing with the lyrics. Thank you Filipino talented musicians over all!!!
