Filofax A5 Set-Up: Modified GTD 43 Folders System

- It's me again!!!! :) In this video, I walk you through the set-up of my A5 Red Chameleon Filofax that is based on the GTD 43 Folders system. This idea comes from Alexis, aka Miss Trenchcoat. She is a genius for coming up with the system inside a binder planner. I have tweaked it to my needs and use it mainly for my finances and monthly budget. I hope this video is helpful and it gives you some ideas for your binders that may be begging to be put to use!!! Have a wonderful day everyone! :)
I love how you made pockets with the calendar. I am using a regular 3 ring binder for my 43 file binder. I also keep a copy of all bills, mortgage, loans, donations, bank statements in separate 3 ring binders. It takes one notebook for six months for my files. It helps at tax time. I keep 3 years worth while working on the fourth. Every February I shred those 4th year back. Tax records I keep always. My kids can throw them away some day, hopefully they have a nice bonfire with them after I am gone.

I absolutely love how you have set up your planner and the the little modifications you made to the 43 folders system. I love it so much I'm going to try it myself! It seems like something that would work better for me better than other things have been

you are such an inspiration! i understand your schedule is super busy but it would be awesome to see how you organize all of your planner supplies :) drawer system, bookshelf etc! im trying to organize my own stuff and im just playing around with what works. interested to see what you do!

Yet another video I love! I was thinking of selling my DayTimer in the "A5" size, but now I'm thinking I may repurpose it after watching this. As always love your videos! I was so excited to see this pop up in my subscriptions! I wish I was the type of person that could utilize a paper-format to keep track of my spending but I am so incredibly lazy and unmotivated when it comes to numbers that I have to rely on apps. Right now I just found a new app on the iphone called "well spent" which is free and it allows me to insert my spending while it subtracts it from my pre-arranged budgets for the month! I'm still at a loss for what to do with my A5.... I have it as a school-deadline binder but really I rarely use it for that & now it is just sitting on my desk collecting dust! I might have to use it for archiving maybe... who knows. How do you archive your past filofax months?
But anyways, LOVE your set up! I also love how you manage too keep everything so beautiful, yet simple! And PS. super cute nails! :)

Love this modified version of the 43 folder system.... much more simplified than Alexis' (although I did like her's also). Think I'm gonna try this version instead.
+Raven4Beauty That's great news! I still use parts of this system in my A5 Malden. It's currently being used as an at home weekly planner. However, I still have an inbox pocket and I will utilize the month-on-1-page pocket where I can slip in bills and other documents in the top of the insert. TFW!!!

Vicky Chatterton Hi Vicky! I print the monthly view and notes from philofaxy.com. There are numerous different layouts you can choose from. Also, the tabbed dividers can be purchased from filofax. com or from amazon.com. I hope that helps and TFW!!!

Thank you for another wonderful video! Out of curiosity, are you planning to incorporate a vision board into this Filofax? I thought you mentioned that in a previous video, but wasn't sure if planned to do so in the same A5 binder. Thanks again!
Cece K Hi Cece! I was planning on incorporating a vision board in this planner, but I think it would be a little too bulky. I have another A5 Chameleon in black that I plan on utilizing for this. However, I have not started it yet. I have clipped a whole lot of magazine pictures for it, but have not made the time to create my pages. Once I do, I will definitely update everyone. This summer is going to be a perfect time to do that since I will not be taking any classes. TFW and have a great day!!!

I love your system, thank you for this breakdown. Please be aware that screen shots at strategic points can reveal some very personal information. I see that this video is a few years old, so perhaps you covered cards in later videos, but just be careful revealing all that!

If you need another label color, buy the white labels and color them with a light sharpie

I can't seen to get the size correct when I print from filofaxy, I'm trying to print a month on a page with notes, and it's coming out too big, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I have word 2013, any suggestions? thanks in advance
Lois1593 I'm sorry Lois... I am a amateur when it comes to printing inserts. I know that Philofaxy has instructions on the website that gives you hints and tips. I think I've seen videos about this too! Good luck and I'm sorry I couldn't be more help. I literally just hit print. :-/

Donna Erickson i could not find "shrink to fit" so i did the letter size and still too big, i know it has to be something simple i'm just over looking, it can't be this hard, i know there a 2 sizes A5 and personal, A5 is 5.5 x 8.5 right
