Hey man I'm a new artist my goal in life is to master almost every genre of music I got rap and melodic rap mastered I wanna give country a go mainly cuz I am a fan of luke Bryan kane brown etc I just don't know how to eq/ edit my vocals for country music I know each genre has a different eqing technique I need some help
I’m someone who plays a large variety of music and I have been leaning into writing southern rock/ blues lately but my old mixing techniques don’t work for the tones I’m using. I’m getting an abnormally muddy mix for fairy clean instruments so I’m hoping to learn a thing or two about mixing. I might need to incorporate some new recording techniques as well.
My production and mixing got quite busy and I never made any more of it. I’d love to come back to it. But right I’m not even sure when of if I’ll have time to come back to TH-cam.
Ive been trying to become the best mixer I can be for my song writing demos... I usually get a guy up in nashville track my tunes " Smith Curry" and then I mix them and add vocals. I get the mixes some what close but they just dont sound the way I would like YET.... This has turned into a passion for me and I eat up any and all info I can get my hands on ... what ever I can learn. Anyway Sounds great man... hope to see part 2
Curious about Sonar works. I've heard some good things about it. (But the reviews always seem sponsored). Do you find it helpful? I'm working in a small room during covid and, even with some panels up, the bass is still an issue (as you would expect).
Great question! It's difficult. I listen to reference material first off, to make sure that I have a good idea of what I should be hearing. I also watch my meters and as silly and simple as it sounds I listen to both the kick and bass and try to make sure I am hearing them both the way I want to.
Mix is NOT BAD, Would love to hear it when it's finished! Who's on Steel? KEEP IT ANALOG and KEEP IT COUNTRY!....I would cut the reverb just a little and try a long delay on this song!. This song has the makings of a great COUNTRY SONG ! Just keep it simple, ALSO remember when they are to hot RADIO might kick it out. Make you a Master for you radio stations and then Cut you one a little hotter for the public! We did that back in the 70 and 80's PRESSED two mixes and RADIO never had a problem with it! Listen to ALAN JACKSONS LEVEL's and you will have it. Sounds like you are on the right track!, Good job JE
Thanks so much for watching. This song is released already, it was only released digitally to spotify and itunes and all the other online retailers/streaming services. The artist is Anderson Elswick.
Great Video Matt, do you actually have a paid membership on your website to become part of?... Especially if you teach how to mix "country" and give us access to these awesome songs you're mixing in these videos top notch stuff man... Nobody is specializing in high-quality, modern sounding (and classic old school country sound) multi's for practice... Just sayin :-) (you're first customer would be right here if you ever did something specializing in country genre specific membership).
@@Matt_McQueen Awesome, just be sure to let us good folk know when you do :-)... I'm currently mixing "I Don't Care" multitrack practice tracks you gave us and what a great song, love practicing my mix techniques on WELL RECORDED country songs and great singers for a change!
Where are the REST of them which you sated that you were going to do for the playlist??? There are FAR TOO FEW video tutorials for producing Country, Folk, and Bluegrass!!!!
Drink Coke Zero while you mix country music!

Great video! How do you manage the kick and bass levels? Do you follow a rule or a trick? I'm very struggling with my levels
