Good looking blade, I really like the slits on the blade for grip. Not crazy about the assisted feature(don't worry, I won't unsubscribe😉) but other then that sweet blade.

I love mine but……I de-assisted mine which made it 100 times better!
I’d also love for it to be a little thinner.
Maybe with flat sides or just lightly radiused and contoured.
Would be AMAZING thinned down!

I have that same barrage. One of my best knives but it is a little thick.
I just did a cursory look at the secondary market. They're going for $340 to $550. That $100 price tag on the blade doesn't look too bad now.

It IS discontinued. You can still get parts for it and LifeSharp service. They replaced my blade a couple of years ago. It was $35 for the new blade back then but it costs $100 now. By far my favorite knife I've ever owned.

I will say, that while you were right when you said that you probably don't want to do any batoning with it, I can tell you from experience, that if you had to in a pinch, you totally could. Good video. I'll check out your others.
This knife is without a doubt tops! One of my favorites. When they were readily available, I purchased three. Not all at once though. Definitely concur that it's underrated. It's simply just an awesome knife! I don't mind the assist opening. I'm used to it. Would love to have seen Benchmade offer it an an auto version.
My EDC. ❤ It's sad that it's discontinued, if I ever lose it, I probably won't be able to get another one like that.
This knife is the full package: classy, sturdy, buttersmooth (de-assisted) and holds an edge forever! Also the coating on de BK version is very scratch-resistant. Super recommended! Great review for a great underrated knife!
What makes de-assisted knives so much better?
@@ekatime not sure... maybe is the largest contact area between blade/washers/liners, necessary to acomodate the auto-mecanism... all I know is that I've de-assisted a Barrage and a Boost, and both are the smoothest manual knives I own now...

Great knife and an Osborne design. Since I tend to “play” with my knives, I’ve learned to stay away from assisted and automatic openers. I’ve cut myself too many times on them including the Barrage when not paying attention when closing them. 🤦♂️

It’s simple to de-assist and can easily be returned to its assisted form if you so choose.

I own it and best ever.
Always thought these were cool. The fit and finish on the ones I handled weren’t great though. They may have fixed the issues at this point but they all would not lock up without play. The machining on the aluminum wasn’t great either, sharp edges etc.
I think this is a newer one. It was pretty perfect all the way around
