Surprised people cried, this is a scene where I thought one would freak out. When I saw it, I was sort of hyped I guessed what happened perfectly. The ghost being Mari's staring face, I didn't guess that one though.
I mean the sequence evokes a lot of dread and devastation, i was more focused on the truth unfolding too so it was more of a “well fuuuck..” reaction, it was only moments later that the tragedy of the whole thing hit me hard with a deep heartache and sadness and then i got depressed for a week lol
It's interesting to see how people react to this, I will forever commend Omori for its brilliancy in establishing empathy for both Sunny and Basil. It's hard to sell people on a character that killed their own sister that they loved, especially when you need to root for them for the story to work; and it brilliantly sets you up to just fucking gut you after you learn it.

Honestly, that’s what I think as well. It was obviously an accident which is why Sunny chose to repress the memories of her death, and he and basil only did what they did because they didn’t want to destroy the friend group, even though that happened anyway.

Because he was feeling overwhelmed by the pressure she was putting him under about his violin practices & the recital(because of Mari's perfectionism).
I feel like they should've included the photo text because so many people misconstrued it - plus add that Sunny has been emotionless the entire game and Basil dying so often in his subconscious, people lean into the wrong trope of "we were the villain the entire time"

Everything up to this point with Omori/Sunny has felt off. Yes in hindsight, this is how he suppresses his trauma, but in comparison to Basil, Sunny seems like he's really under emoting the situation or a sociopath. Yet, I don't think we're supposed to doubt Sunny here, so I think it's a missed opportunity removing the photo texts. It would've been a great opportunity to let Sunny speak for the first time, that his first actual words to the player is to spill the truth and defend himself
I'm a bit late to this, but one of my favorite moments during the truth is the piano sound effect that plays when you see the memory of Sunny and Mari at the top of the stars and when Sunny pushes her down. The game has been feeding you clues out of order so you don't get the picture until suddenly the reveal and sound effects plays. I get goosebumps every time I see and hear it. That moment when everything falls together is an extremely satisfying moment, yet every piece suddenly clicks together into this horrible truth of a picture. It's haunting and I love it.
Oh that editing is way too good. The timing, fair share for everyone and the ending.. Yeah, using all the footage at the same time makes the moment more, I dunno, fitting.

It might have been rigor mortis (the stiffening of the muscles after death, hence her eye opening even though she is dead), but datamined files imply that she might have been alive when she was hanged.
@@SerialIntrovert rigor mortis can make the corpse stiff, it can also have random movements, but I think that opening eyes isn’t one of them (I study criminology but I’m not sure :p)

Some of these streamers are kind of hateful. Like I was liking some of their reactions and then the John guy had to ruin it by 'I don't even want this on my channel' or something like that and Teal was like bashing them. It was an accident and if they actually thought about how this all tied in they would realize the remorse and what a great game this was. Hana actually realized he didn't mean to. This whole game is about overcoming the guilt(and realizing) and trying to get over it. Clearly sunny punishes himself and Basil does as well. He clearly loved his sister and his friends and didn't mean to.

For Johne, I think he was not ready for such heavy contents like this so he said that he did not want "this"-as the heavy content on his channel. For the "Sunny loved Mari and clearly he didn't mean to", they were probably pretty heavily mind fucked then (first time i actually uncensored a swear lol) so they might not be able to recall that and know it was an accident. okay, i think i should end it here

sunny and mari had a fight. he pushed her down the stairs, and carried her to her room. sunny thought it was all a bad dream and hed just wake up soon . then when he saw basil he knew it wasnt a dream. basil came up with the idea to frame it as a suicide. after that sunny stopped hanging out with his friends and created white space (fun fact: white space is maris picnic but with different items.) so he tries to forget it but everytime somthing appears he goes back to white space. aubrey was saddened that everyone moved on so she tried to hang out with basil. but he wouldnt talk to her. then she looked at his photo album and saw all pictures of mari are blacked out. so she bullied him. then the story starts. also its theorized the parents knew the truth because one scene the dad says "get out you are not my son" he probably left when he figured it out as hes not in the game or with sunny
