I can understand the appeal of digital games. The biggest dealbreaker for me is that all your purchases are forever linked to your account. If your account gets compromised or banned you lose access to all the games you bought. Unlike a physical games. Once you buy it the company cannot legally take it away from you.
Exactly, had a buddy who got his account stolen, We tracked it and it appeared to be logged in somewhere in the middle east. Good thing tech support was able to retreive it.
Lesson learned (2FA).
But then again, physical copies can get destroyed by getting too many scratches over the years or can be lost
@@ceruvelt8073you you take good care of them that won't happen
Unless you have cartridge based games. My CD based games have no problems.
@@ceruvelt8073then be sure to take care of your discs. I can never fathom how people get a bunch of scratches on their disc. Just take care of the damn thing and put it away properly
1985-2019: physical
2020: the rest of your life: digital
Especially when Sony and Microsoft are updating system software with a virus malware bug stopping some physical games from working intentionally forcing users to buy digital games
When the switch to digital only I'm going to spend a lot of time replaying games. Digital is just too expensive.
physical
Digital games also disappear like the stranger things game I saw it and waited to buy and it just disappeared because of licensing I think but I never got to play it
They're like food, Get them While their hot!
The stranger things game got a physical copy. I'm planning to get it for switch.
For me i like the physical games if I know I truly love that game. Something I want to be able to play for many years in the future.
I hate how digital games are usually full price. There are barely ever any sales on digital games and this will be especially true for those first party switch games smh
Sony and Microsoft have gotten pretty good about sales. The amount varies but it can be significant.
picked up a physical copy of Advanced Warfare for $3.28 at a brick and mortar store, love that feeling.
I go physical only for old consoles for save space.I don't want to leave in a store!
i would buy digital games if you would own your games. but if you get banned you lose your games. no thanks
I feel like you should buy games wherever you want but fight anti-consumerism when it happens.
For example, when Sony shut down the ps3 store we were still able to download our digital library which was good.
But they shut the store down on short notice and people wanted time, so we complained and they listened.
I love both, I primarily buy digital games due to game sharing, being able to basically get two copies for one purchase everytime you buy a game is really hard to beat for me IN MY OPINION.
I buy a game, my girlfriend gets it to and we play it together.
That's my personal reason, but when I play a game I truly fall in love with (the Yakuza series) I buy it physically.
Both are great and don't be ashamed for either way you buy your games.
But MOST IMPORTANTLY this isn't a war between physical owners and digital, the whole point is we want options, and don't want our options limited especially when you spend $500+ on a console
Lets say you get robbed and someone steals your system and physical games...this is where digital is better...u only have to buy the console again.
It is possible to lose your physical games, as the disks/cartridges can be damaged, stolen, etc.
Physical. I like to browse them in video game store.
Physical all day long. No fixed prices. Looks good the cases and packaging. Can easily borrow it to a friend. Downloads quicker than digital.
I think it depends on how you prefer to play or what is simple easier, for me Digital is easier because not only is it more convenient but where I live is like at least a good 45min drive to the nearest Game stop or Walmart so I'd rather download a game that takes less than half that time. Plus a lot of times (not always) but a lot Digital games go on sale and sometimes 80% to 90% off . This isn't the say I don't own physical games I just have a little more Digital games due to being slightly more convenient where I live.
Pls get famous soon anyways while i have been leaning to digtal for some purchases latley i always love physical ive been gaming for so long and nothing will beat going to a gamestore and getting a new game to put on your shelf plus a physical game means i own it forever
I agree physical games are better.
the ending video got me laugh lol
Nice video, man.
There's a small variable in that part where you said that digital games are gone forever if you uninstall them after the servers are down. Many consoles have backwards compatibility nowadays and your digital games are linked to your account. How long will it continue like this? Nobody knows, but at least of now, you should be safe for at the very least 2 generations... Which sounds terrible, but then again *sigh*.
Hi 1st time to buy physical games, paano pag pre owned bibilhin ko lalo na mga pokemon games pwede ko ba ireset?. Tsaka ano po yung code na sinasabila
Saved data will be stored in the switch console, you'll have to make new ones.
Codes usually come from new games, a piece of paper with a code will be in the game case used to redeem items etc in the online store.
I'm more of a digital consumer as of late since sometimes at least in America the game isn't fully on the disc or cartridge
I hit the max (1 TB sd) so now im looking to lean more towards physical.. Wish they made a 2 TB sd for Switch. Nothing better than having an arcade of several hundred titles that travel with you wherever you go imo.
They have 1.5 TB SD cards for the switch now
Just a warning to all u digital lovers , i bought alot of digital content on funimation and now its gonna be fkkn gone im mad digital suckss
Ever notice the argument never includes PC? It's only console gamers who pine for physical games. On Steam I have 2 hours to play a game and if I don't like it I can get a FULL refund. I know there are other PC gaming services that have similar policies. Do you have any idea how awesome that is compared to buying a physical game just to find out you hate it? If Nintendo, Microsoft and/or Sony had these policies, would your opinion change?
Buying digital on console kinda feels like a gamble. If they do happen to change their refund policies that would definitely be good for newly released games. Older games will already have tons reviews out we can decide there.
I would still consider resellability more than being alble to get a refund.
EHH HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA god damn, the refund policy on steam is crap, many times they just don’t allow it even if you haven’t played the game for long (less than 2 hours). I would rather be able to sell my games on pc if I could.
only a married man will get that joke.😅
A large amount of games don’t even come out physically. Indie games are notorious for being digital only. Definitely digital for me. I buy physical movies I like because there is a quality difference between streamed v. local, but for games there is generally no difference since you have to install either.
Im a digital fan
Same game sharing, and having all your games layed out with a touch of a button just feels nice.
I respect physical games, and own many myself. They both are great, but when I really fall in love with a game I buy it physically.
But most of my games are digital since I can just game share every game with my girlfriend
@@Setogayamari
but you can't sell them when your done. I like being able to some get of my money back on Ebay.
@@russellmania5349 This is probably why games are going all digital, because developers are losing a lot of money on resold games
@@Setogayamarii too buy physical games that i love playing even though i play most of my games digitally
