I had an almost perfect experience with the Witcher trilogy. Played the first game out of the blue, not knowing anything about the Witcher, even though it was pretty popular around here as fantasy goes due to all the slavic themes. Loved the first game, especially considering how hard it goes on being its own story and barely connected to the overarching story of the books, which I knew nothing about. A few years later, I hear that Witcher 2 comes out and you can import your saves. I re-play Witcher 1, finding a lot more cool stuff that I missed the first time through and then I just have an ablosolute blast with Witcher 2. I was in a pretty bad place - a very long recovery from physical trauma that took me a couple of years - but I had a lot of free time for video games. Inbetween Wticher 2 and waiting for the third game I've read all the books, so when in the game Geralt finally remembers everything, so did I. I also did loose my Witcher 2 save game due to a dying HDD, but knowing that the game is soon coming out and after reading the book, I once again blew through games 1 and 2, this time picking up on all the details and references. And then Witcher 3 was an absolute blast. My laptop at the time ran the game at an average 25-30 FPS, but I didn't care. Every time I launched the game I got excited. It was at the time when I was trying to get through exams to finish my education. And both things went great. Forward a few years. I have a job, a much better PC that I bought with my own money and I think "I never did get around to playing those DLCs, did I?", so I played Witcher 3 again, at 70+ FPS with all graphics as high as they go and get bombarded with all the glory and nostalgia that both DLCs bring. It was a perfect ending to my journey through that universe.
I studied at the university when I first found the Witcher 3, helped me through some hard times. Playing the game, getting to know stories side missions or main ones, i was really connected to it and could forget a bit about the stress and problems surrounding.
The Soundtrack for this games are proof of the love they put into creating it, all of it. It is so good to listen to it while reading or just relaxing, it brings back feeelings from the game , just like it was real. I wish there were more witcher games like this trilogy. I hope they will come...someday.

My mom wasn't familiar with the witcher games, music or lore until I explained her everything. She became a huge fan and listened to the Witcher soundtrack with me when times were rough. She passed away way too soon three days ago and I'm in unbelievable pain and grief, deciding which of these will be played at her funeral and slowly healing by recalling our beautiful momens together. Rest in peace, mom 💔🖤
Playing Witcher 1 & 2 on PC brings me back to a time when everything just felt like home. Years later I still can’t get that feeling back. This is a nice reminder. Thanks for posting this

"Kaer Morhen and Old Manor" track is just mindblowing. It's literally breathtaking that the 16 years old soundtrack composed for a very first, debut game of a small polish developer is still one of the best tracks they've made, even though they completed their dreams of becoming world wide known, epic videogames developer and reaching the stars... Soundtrack for the first Witcher is still the best soundtrack in its entirety comparing to other games I've ever played in my whole life... how surprising and and impressing. Currently reading the books after putting them off for years and I always stick this video on in the background to listen to while reading, it's really immersive. Currently on Time of Contempt and loving it so far. I love Witcher 2 and 3 but I've never played the first game, but the music here is really making me want to. I've listened to this compilation quite a bit since November of 2021. At that time I was going through a very difficult and uncertain time of my life and the tracks "River of Life" and "The Dike/Seawall" were very reassuring to me back then, for some reason. I'm past those hurdles now and things are going much better for me all things considered, but those two songs still hold a place close in my heart. Thanks for making this!

One of the channels got 3 copyright strikes in the same day and the automated system deleted that channel and all other channels liked to the adsense account. Everything was gone overnight. :(

I played only The Witcher 3 which was actually my first game at all (yep, we don't take into account The Sims when I was a kid). I really loved the soundtracks and for the last three years Spotify shows me them as the most listened songs of the year =) You can't imagine how surprised I was when I heard familiar motives in the soundtracks. That marvells me how much work was done by the composers to follow the same mood and motives with slight changes to keep them both new and familiar at the same time.

I appreciate you SO MUCH for putting this back together. Loved the original and wonder why in the world it was deleted? In any case, I thank you so much. Now I want to play witcher3 again... Glad you enjoy it! I missed it too when re-reading the books but it looks like the channel was taken down due to copyright claims, so I did a bit of digging and was able to get the original song list, mixed some songs to fit better and changed the order around slightly to fit the themes of the songs better.

@@Vizzer96 Yeah true. But Witcher 1+2's storys really don't rely much on the book knowledge, because of Geralts amnesia. Don't get me wrong, i also think that knowing the backstory from the books makes the experience better for all 3 games. But the game that benefits the most from book knowledge, is Witcher 3. Because you have a much deeper relationship with Ciri and Yen. In 1+2 it is more like nice to know some characters and settings, but it is no big deal if you don't. Since the story is not build around events from the books, as much as Witcher 3. I think thats why a lot of people can struggle with getting into W3, since there is no connection to the characters if you haven't played the other 2 games or red the books. I also think Witcher 3 needs the book knowledge much more, than it needs the knowledge from the first 2 games. Kinda ironic lol. A animated recap with the most important events from the books would be great at the beginning of the game. But it also takes away some secrets you discover later in the game. So it is pretty hard to really decide what to show and what not. And just showing the bigger events, would already be pretty long.

I played only The Witcher 3 which was actually my first game at all (yep, we don't take into account The Sims when I was a kid). I really loved the soundtracks and for the last three years Spotify shows me them as the most listened songs of the year =) You can't imagine how surprised I was when I heard familiar motives in the soundtracks. That marvells me how much work was done by the composers to follow the same mood and motives with slight changes to keep them both new and familiar at the same time.
Listening to this while studying to get my math bachelor degree ..it helps me relax a little.

Oh my gosh! I am so happy to find this - I've been listening to other things for a good while, but decided to listen to the original and it was gone. I appreciate you SO MUCH for putting this back together. Loved the original and wonder why in the world it was deleted? In any case, I thank you so much. Now I want to play witcher3 again... Or maybe Witcher2 - haven't played it yet.

While doing some python coding stuff for work, I found that listening to The Witcher is truly amazing... It really makes me want to play at the game, again!

I've noticed that all the former compilations like yours that I listened to when I first found The Witcher soundtracks, are being changed in that they are not being melded or mixed together. Glad you enjoy it! I missed it too when re-reading the books but it looks like the channel was taken down due to copyright claims, so I did a bit of digging and was able to get the original song list, mixed some songs to fit better and changed the order around slightly to fit the themes of the songs better.

The Witcher 1 music is so amazing. I really hope they keep the original soundtrack for the remake. It has the darkest atmosphere of the series imo.
I do wonder if they'd make the remake more lore friendly to the books. I know it's hard to strike the balance when so many people haven't read them but the games miss out on talking about so much 😭
@@Vizzer96 Yeah true. But Witcher 1+2's storys really don't rely much on the book knowledge, because of Geralts amnesia. Don't get me wrong, i also think that knowing the backstory from the books makes the experience better for all 3 games. But the game that benefits the most from book knowledge, is Witcher 3. Because you have a much deeper relationship with Ciri and Yen. In 1+2 it is more like nice to know some characters and settings, but it is no big deal if you don't. Since the story is not build around events from the books, as much as Witcher 3.
I think thats why a lot of people can struggle with getting into W3, since there is no connection to the characters if you haven't played the other 2 games or red the books. I also think Witcher 3 needs the book knowledge much more, than it needs the knowledge from the first 2 games. Kinda ironic lol.
A animated recap with the most important events from the books would be great at the beginning of the game. But it also takes away some secrets you discover later in the game. So it is pretty hard to really decide what to show and what not. And just showing the bigger events, would already be pretty long.

@@Musky577 I did the same about 6-7 years ago! First book to the end of the witcher 3! (Never did finish the blood and wine dlc sadly). It's a very good memory, highly recommend it!
