    I only do family oriented markets. Children are GOLD for our plushies.

    Overstimulation is sooooo real. And you were right next to the stage.
    You still put yourself out there and did something new. Congrats on your first outdoor market even if it wasn't the best. I hope you find the venue and market setup that works best for you❤

    Bethani and I done market today. It was a new event coordinator. He seemed to have himself together but when we got there I noticed that some things that I was told was not actually true so that kind of worried me. We sold $6 worth of merchandise. And we paid $20 for our spot. Of course I supported a few other vendors there. I really can't be upset though because the event was to support a family that have lost everything in a fire and they raised $150 for them. It's just really tough times where I live. People do not value handmade items and then it costs so much to live. I am just gonna keep trying. I put a lot of my non crocheted items on deep sell because it's something I'm just trying to get rid of that I'm not going to carry anymore. That did not even sway people!

      Awww Annie I’m sorry! I know some comments were saying maybe a big market is where people are buying these items from.
      It’s just very discouraging but I know we should just continue to do it and maybe it’ll pick up. I’m thinking maybe it’s too hot for too many people to be out right now
      I hope your next markets is abundant for you as it is for me💕☺️

    You aren’t the first to say breweries aren’t for you. Definitely not the right crowd. You need to go to a big market with lots of foot traffic, families, children etc. Put less inventory on your table so you feel less overwhelmed. You can always add new items as others sell. Too much inventory is also overwhelming for shoppers😂. Smaller set up will be easier for you. Set up in your house or outside to practice. Conquer your fear, don’t let it beat you. Your creations are lovely and should be shared.

    Wow, you are like the 5th person I hear with having trouble selling at brewery/ alcohol markets, if the opportunity comes up I think I'll pass. Though with only 2 hours to sell it seems like the odds weren't in your favor❤

    Hello melly I have a question does your eyes ever fall off? I’m asking cause the backends of the eyes are really hard to snap on well some are.

    • @FireflyBakerySweets
      @FireflyBakerySweets 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a tool you can use to help pop the backing on. I also use a strong glue under the backing so it is more secure. I don't do what she does and super glue them on. It defeats the purpose of them being "safety eyes" Very dangerous to do it that way especially when they most likely are going to children.

    • @mellyinspiredcrochet
      @mellyinspiredcrochet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! I’ve never had any eyes fall off of my plushies, I do it to the smaller plushies and I tend to put bigger eyes on them since the hot glue tends to melt the yarn into the safety eyes. My bigger plushies have backing on them that I’ve used glue with Aida cloth to help them stay. I always put warnings on all of my plushies and let people know ahead of time the dangers of safety eyes (which I have baby safe products) but yarn is also always a strangulation issue as well.
      Definitely try out the craft easy tool that’s coming out soon! That can definitely help you with placing the backings for sure💕 Aida cloth works wonders on the back for extra security☺️

    I live in arkansas and I sell veggies I grow myself. I make plushies that look like the veggies and animals that live in the area.i have 4 markets every 2 weeks. I sell 12 plushies at a time. And only sold one today. It makes my day. I started selling them this year in fact I started crocheting this year as well.
    I'm am crocheting a floral square top right now. My farm is called Hourglass Tree farm and it is also my youtube name if you want to check it out. ❤ thanks for the video.

    • @mellyinspiredcrochet
      @mellyinspiredcrochet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use most of my backs😅 typically on the bigger plushies but the smaller ones I glue them on and they’re pretty sturdy ☺️

    • @itsjuliaaaaaaa
      @itsjuliaaaaaaa 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mellyinspiredcrochet please be careful gluing them on as it is a major choking hazard. They are a choking hazard even with the backs but especially with no backs.
      I loved your table setup at the market btw!!

    • @mellyinspiredcrochet
      @mellyinspiredcrochet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@itsjuliaaaaaaa of course! It’s all a hazard, even the yarn as a strangulation hazard. It’s really good to have signs and talk to customers regarding what is baby safe and what is not. Every single one of my plushies has a disclaimer as well as having baby safe products is good ☺️

      @@mellyinspiredcrochet right, i don’t care that you glue them on, i don’t judge other peoples work! I was just wondering what you did with all the backs to the ones you glue on as i also make plushies and somehow i lose the backs and am always short, and cant find just the backs for sale anywhere! Just truing to grasp an opportunity if it was available…. Was worth a try 😁

    Sorry it didn’t go as well as you thought. Your items are crocheted well. Perhaps you can sell at a crowded market/farmers market and hire a person to sell for you for a few hours to lessen the overstimulation. Your items should easily sell out.

  • @Wreinie
    @Wreinie 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I was reading some of the comments, and yes I totally agree being overstimulated is a real thing. Sucks that you didn't make anything on your 2 markets, but keep the faith and do not give up! You'll have your crowds eating out of your hands soon :) You know your products, you know that they are adorable. You know how much they are worth. Did you at least hand your business card with your online shop to the gal who liked the nessie? She might change her mind, and be willing to go to another market to buy it that you are at. I know when I have something in my head that I like, but I dont have the funds right then but REALLY like it... I try to find it again later! Regards to the Vlogs, I might be new to your channel, but I am interested in what you have to say. Enough so that I am responding with such a lengthy comment :D The people that are subscribing are interested in you, your journey and your work. You keep in real when you share the good and the bad. I'll get off my soap box, but you have a wonderful rest of your day, and until the next video take care, be safe and enjoy your life!

    Stick to your guns sweetie! Do NOT change your prices. I make purses during the day on industrial machines and was once told that Walmart was cheaper. I told her to enjoy her trip to Walmart. Continue to put yourself out there. Your crochet babies are adorbs and well worth the price you put on them. Ignore the others!!! Hang in there girl and remember YOU ROCK!!!!💜💜💜

    My first pop up was super surprisingly successful because it was my type of people and artists. I recently did a little craft fair that was more flea market than craft fair so it wasn’t my people and I only sold a few things. But it was $20 so I’ll probably do it again just to gain some experience and put my name out there. I think for me as a fellow nervous person I really need to get more comfortable in a low stakes way with markets and pop up events. Even the unsuccessful markets and pop ups help to give you more experience and increase your comfort level ❤

    • @mellyinspiredcrochet
      @mellyinspiredcrochet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That definitely makes sense! I was trying to do that with the pop up events but I think it was just too soon since it was back to back events🫣
