Don't stop at just the voice. The songwriting. The poetry, the theme. The musicality. The way the rhythm section lifts you up with three chords to prepare you for the prechorus, then brings you right back down, gently, with the same three chords in reverse order to marinate in it. The lyrics.."A woman who wet my thoughts like kisses"...."She breathes in fog, and breathes it out as garden flowers"..."The soil is fertile where her footsteps trod"..... It's the whole package. Most of you are just satisfied with vocal tone/acrobatics and a borrowed beat. Not I.

Memorizing! He doesn't ever wear ear buds, to stay on tune. GOD touched him with a gift, that makes ppl fall in love, with being in love, by feeling what the songwriter is singing. His songs come from his soul, as you can tell, when tears streamed down cheeks. No matter how many times the songs have been sung, his heart is always in it, as if he's telling his lover these words for the first & last time.

I was sitting on my bed and I was listening to your song Holding on to you and all of a sudden I hear thump thump but it was almost quiet and I looked down and it was my tears hitting my comfetor and I only had that happen to me one other time in my life and it was when my sister passed April 17, 2016. I have felt like everything is loud to me. I looked at some of your interviews and I was able to calm down when I listened to you. I was thinking about your voice when you talk and it requires others to come down and listen and able to hear the message you want to express. The voice is small but the words are immaculate and we will never touch the end of then because they are infinite. We all need forever.

Absolutely, forever and always Terrence Trent D'arby 👍😍🔥🔥🔥
OMG, today was my 1st day hearing this song. I Love it so much, touched my soul down deep
Used to listen to him when he first came out but today I discovered this song for the first time. Divine lyrics. May we all heal with ease & grace.
When I was a young boy
My daddy told me son
Before you leave the world
You're expected to love somebody
And you can't directly love someone
Unless you love yourself
Unless you feel your soul
Even when you feel like you must walk alone
Don't lose your faith
Cos faith will lead you on
When a dark cloud comes
I just keep coming back
Gracias por esas letras que faltaban...
Those words were powerful n he was singing from his soul. Deep enough to cry when he was singing. He took us there.
Holding On To You. Is the title of the song. My favorite song n video.
The Bishop told them well.
34K views!!! The whole world should see, hear and FEEL this!!! There are no words to describe how good this is...
Ever since my mum has showed me this video I think I've watched it like every day. Love, love, love it.!!! His voice is as beautiful as his face..

The only artist I ever cared about. I hope you found your peace. Thank you for helping me along the way. Xo
Why is what I said silly, at a time of reflection?
@@2blackkettles ignore him, he’s the silly one
I can't believe that it took me so many years to find this performance. This is the one for all that I Love!
HE IS THE COMPLETE ARTIST NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU SEE SOMEONE LIKE HIM❤❤❤❤
I've listened to Terence aka Meitraya for over 30 years! His music has saved my LIFE! And continues to everyday as I orbit with the beautiful YOUZZZ around this galaxy, in the great Super Structures of our universe!
This man is literally the most beautiful thing ive seen and his music is soulful.

Hmm.. did you watch it today? Aha. Thank-you for leaving the comment!
Sure did!
I also have this on Cd and listen to it in my car. It is such a beautiful song! It relaxes me. I have been listening to Terence's music he was young.
Pamela Smith That's amazing, it's clear you've had immaculate taste in music from a young age!
Me too, Pamela. Cant get enough. Like my fix for the day.
I’ve loved this artist from the first time I heard him in the 80’s. He took soul to another level by creating his own music and recreating covers in his own way. There are many great artists, and music is my life but in my opinion he is The King of Soul and one of the best voices ever in the industry. God Bless you and Thank You for sharing your art work with the world.
I cry every single time I listen to this
For years this has been my go to in emotional performance perfection. It’s poetry. It’s raw. It’s visually spectacular. The way the band follows his every move in knowing when to bring it down then kick it all the way up. Just literally the absolute very best. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Sananda!!!
Absolutely incredible voice...Unrepetable !
I cannot find another song that can touch the emotions that this song does. It reminds me of my childhood, my teenage years, and the long days I go through now (I'm 31). Sananda you are amazing! 😍
Mind blowing performance, if a man could make love to his own song, this is the one.
Watch him live with the inxs band! Amazing 😎👍🏻
His voice makes me cry like a baby 💙💙💙
Yes I want love, yet love hurts.
Crazy good. God blessed this brother.
Real art is timeless!! Wow
I’m shaking and I’ve got goosebumps. Best voice ever, I’m lost for words. Just perfect.
Thank you for your immense talent. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I love this song I can listen to this song over and over again.

That voice is a gift from the heavens.
I remember sitting around saying they don't make good music like they use to. Then we got him. Mercy.

Thank you for you lovely reaction. The song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Another song that does that to me is Terence Trent D'arby singing"holding on to you" live in London.
