This episode really reminds me of the 5th chapter in DR2 - warehouse, a fire is happening, someone is trapped inside, the 'friends' do everything but anything actually helpful :D (or is it the other way around? Either way...) Gotta love cliches and similiarities, I guess?
I'd lose my shit if this is where Kodaka got the idea But to be fair there are alot of similarities in anime/games from Japan since the influence is usually similar as the storywriters were born in pre-internet times where their influences growing up would have been similar. This would explain the "tropes" in most Japanese content leading up to the 2000's

From the looks of it the link connecting it to the metal ring is one of this clips, you know the ones where you unscrew it and it slides down. You can even see the screw thing. Why in the world didn't yugi just unscrew It
