I've been binge-watching your wonderful videos and we are hooked (subscribed so I won't miss another). We have been to Italy several times but never to Abruzzo. Sulmona looks like a perfect base for a weeklong visit to the area. It is now at the top of our list for our next Italian adventure. Looking forward to seeing the Sulmona apartment when it's ready.
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! So glad you are enjoying our videos and hope they give you lots of ideas for your next Italian adventure in Abruzzo. Sulmona is a perfect location to explore the region from. Get in touch before you come as our apartment may well be ready to rent... 😊

Ciao Winston, yes Abruzzo is perfect to retire. Since your trip in 90s early 2000 very little has changed. This region is truly unspoilt! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
Great video. You two are good ambassadors for the region. Sulmona and Abruzzo is next on my list to explore. Grandfather is from Frosinone but I must visit Abruzzo region. Thanks I’m now subscribed 👍

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, much appreciated and so glad you enjoy wandering with us. The apartment in the palazzo in Sulmona is coming along slowly but should be complete by the end of the year when we hope to rent it out for short holiday lets, just popped there today to check on progress and it's looking amazing. . In the meantime our other palazzo in San Benedetto in Perillis has its own TH-cam channel you might like to follow: @palazzosanbenedetto
I'm from Sulmona, thanks for this cool video. i don't konw if you know, but under Sulmona you can find the acinet city before Rome Age and during Rome Ege. Under Santissima Annunziata Palace, in the museum scetion, you can access to some ancient ruin of romain domus. Sulmona is vary ancient, was founded before Rome expansion, from Peligni one of the pre-italic population.
John Gabriel again.Sulmona is adelight and one of my favourite cities. Another great video probably your best..Saw a fantastic jazz concert in a cortile behind the church in Corso Ovidio years ago. Also saw the joust in Piazza Garihbaldi......what a treat.Look up and you see Pacentro the home of Madonnas relations.Alot of buses near the Villa Communale can take you to different places in Abruzzi such as Scanno. All the best. Thanks fotr
Lovely to hear from you John, as always. Sulmona is fabulous isn't i and so perfectly located to explore so many other areas of the amazing region of Abruzzo that has so much to offer. Best wishes!
My mother grew up in nearby Introdacqua (my Zia lives in the family home from 1920). My cousin lives in the apartments above Piazza Garibaldi. I Love Sulmona.
Thank you so much for this beautiful tour of Sulmona. My grandfather and his siblings were born there as well as their mother. Their father was born in San Vito Chietino but was married there and remained until about 1904 when the family migrated to America. Maria della Tomba was the church in which they were married. I got emotional when you toured the churches. I would have loved seeing a tour of what the homes or apartments look like in this old building.
So glad you enjoyed the video and that it meant so much to you and your family history. Our apartment in Sulmona will be ready for rental next year. Have you been to Abruzzo?
Nice video folks! I recently discovered Abruzzo working in Bussi sul Tirino and skiing in Roccaraso, and so staying a bit in Popoli and Sulmona. Very impressive your Sulmona tour. Subscription done. Keep posting, and I wish you luck for your amazing projects!
So glad you liked the video and thanks so much for subscribing, that means a lot to us. What work did you do in Bussi sul Tirino? We are based in Popoli at the moment.
We really enjoy exploring Abruzzo with you guys, love your warm sense of humour and informative videos. Hope we pump into each other and share a bottle of pecorino together. Salute
@@primavera150 Ooh a project, how exciting! Well, if you come our way to either Sulmona or Popoli area let us know and likewise when we pop to Vasto. Look forward to meeting you and drinking that bottle of pecorino.
John Gabriel again. There was a travel agency in the large square in Sulmona clled Celidonio and l dont know if it is slill there. The owner was a kind hearted man and helped many people to migrate to different parts of the world including my father toAustralia in1952.He lent them his own money. Some never paid it back He became a Senator in Parliament.l interviewed him with my video. All the best on these superb videos and hope you will do Scanno and the narrow spevtacular road and river leading into it.
Thanks for the video! We're looking in Sulmona to retire and found a property we are enquiring about, its a total renovation. Can't wait to see your project!
So glad you enjoyed the video. Please do subscribe if you haven't already. We don't know Palena yet, sounds fabulous that it has a bear sanctuary. Will look it up!

Thank you for all your videos.. I have a question. Which city do you recommend to stay in July.. lanciano or Sulmona? Or do you recommend staying at both. We are not familiar with Lanciano so not sure if it’s a beautiful city.. thank you as I know you have been there as well
Thanks for watching 😊 Did you watch our Lanciano video yet? With regard to where to stay we are quite biased as we have an apartment we are getting ready for rentals in Sulmona. We love this beautiful town so much we invested 😁 However having said that from a neutral point of view your decision depends on you, your likes, dislikes and what you plan to see and do whilst in Abruzzo. Sulmona is ideally located centrally to explore the region though....😉
@@ExploringAbruzzo yes I watched it and honestly wasn’t sure if you liked it or not😄. We have been to Sulmona and also wanted to stay a little closer to the coast. Lanciano seems to be located in an area that is close to many towns as well as costal areas.. but I can’t get a feel for it..
