This is actually part of a video trilogy (the Eliminator Trilogy), involving the car (the Eliminator), the girls, and the band. It's like the girls and the band are "genies" or "fairy godfathers/godmothers", helping trod on people transform and get their wish. "Gimme All Your Lovin'" was first, then this one, then "Legs". ZZ Top is iconic, and I honestly don't think I've ever heard a song from them I didn't like. I'd definitely encourage finishing up the trilogy.
I can’t believe you’ve never listened to ZZ Top. Those guys are legends. I had tickets to see them, right before Dusty died. Got a refund. Most heartbreaking thing ever. These guys are 90% of the reason I grew a beard. Now check Legs, Sleeping Bag, and Velcro Fly. 🤘
So glad you've been led to "That little ol' band from Texas", ZZ Top! Same 3-man line-up for over 50 years, until the passing of bassist/singer Dusty Hill (at which point, and per Dusty's wishes, his longtime guitar tech stepped in to take up the mantel). They have so many great songs. Cheap Sunhlasses, Blue Jean Blues, Groovy Little Hippie Pad, Heard It On The X, I'm Bad I'm Nationwide, She Loves My Automobile, Lagrange, Pearl Necklace, Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers, Tush, Balinese, Party On The Patio, Tube Snake Boogie, Francene, Mexican Blackbird, Thank You,Viva Las Vegas, Rough Boy. Soooo many great; bluesy, rockin', jammin' tunes. Complete albums/CDs are always on the road trip playlist 🙂 And one of the best live bands ever.
ZZ Top released a trio of videos featuring the Eliminator (the '33 Ford Coupe) where the hot girls "rescue" someone. - Check out "Gimme All Your Lovin" and "Legs"
ZZ was so damn big 50 years ago, they were just beginning to come out and they were so huge 40 years ago!! Chillaxing bro is what happens when you listening to the ZZ!!
Early ZZ Top, "La Grange," "Waiting for the Bus," "Jesus Just Left Chicago," "Tush." This is from Eliminator, music co got involved, more commercial-video, etc. There's a series of vids with this car-Eliminator and ladies, "Gimme All Your Lovin"," and "Legs" and many more songs. Kinda giggled when you said 3y and you've decades of songs to indulge in, Enjoy!! 🎉
As I say to all new ZZ fans, long ago 55 (!) years ago Jimi Hendrix was asked how it felt to be the best guitarist on Earth. He replied simply, "Ask Billy Gibbons" (ZZTop guitarist)
I've seen this repeated about several different guitarists, and I've yet to see any of them substantiated. Jimi did know and say he liked Billy, though.
@@aeonise Not to make a big argument out of it, but I read it in some rock autobiography & saw it on a documentary about ZZTop that Jimi did say it about Billy Gibbons. ZZ was opening act for Hendrix at the time, & they weren't best friends but certainly knew each other. Who knows? Maybe Jimi got tired of being asked the same "best guitarist" question- he didnt go around bragging- and he said the same about Billy & Roy. And if ZZ formed in '69 & Jimi died in '70 that doesnt mean Jimi couldnt have said it. I think they even met before ZZTop was formed- like any other musician, Billy was around a while & played in lots of bands I'm sure. Like I said no biggie but if I can find the source of that quote I'll pop back in here & let you know. I heard it SOMEWHERE, it's not like I claimed to be in the room when Jimi said it. Although the 3 of us were in a bar in Dallas one night in '69, maybe early 1970, drinking a couple pitchers of beer when all of a sudden Jimi jumped up on the table w/ his guitar in 1 hand, beer mug in the other, & started screaming "Hey all you rednecks I dare you to..." Nah I'll save that story for another time. Long live rock n roll though!
@@rockabilly1347 and so of course i looked it up...if you google "who did Jimi Hendrix think was the best guitarist", or words to that effect, Billy Gibbons looks like the guy that is mentioned the most. But apparently Hendrix gave lots of different answers to that question. Depended on his mood, I guess. He even mentions a guitarist from the band Chicago. Now I always thought Chicago was ok- ok enough to sell millions & millions of records- but they weren't exactly my cup of tea, & sure never sounded like Hendrix or ZZTop. So like I said who the heck knows. Makes for interesting conversation though. Personally I would've loved to hear Hendrix playing w/ Ronnie James Dio. Could arguably the best guitarist ever have been able to coexist w/ the best rock singer ever? I'm sure someone will fire up a computer & unite them some day. Which is why I don't like most modern music...
Jimi Hendrix did once say that Billy gibbons had the best tone he ever heard. Are they Blues? Sort of. Rock? Maybe. Funk? Sometimes.Pop? For a minute. Artsy? Maybe for a couple of years. Texas legends? Damn sure. BEER DRINKERS AND HELL RAISERS was spray painted on the South Houston water tower for quite some time around the late 80s.
Back in the early 90's I worked night shift in Lubbock, Tx. ZZ Top was there for a concert. It was our Friday night out ( a Weds morning) so we stopped by at one of the very few restaurants that served beer in the mornings. We got our pitcher and ZZ Top was sitting, enjoying their breakfast at a nearby table. They rose their glasses of water to us and smiled and waved as we poured our beer.
ZZ TOP is a Texas rock band that has been performing for decades. The guitarist( Billy Gibbons) and the drummer (Frank Beard) are the only 2 original members left. Bass player Dusty Hill passed away in 2023. Billy and Dusty the 2 with the incredible beards while the drummer's name BEARD. NICKELBACK did a cover of "Sharped dressed man and it was great!! You need to listen to their songs"La Grange", "Legs", " Tush", "I gotta git paid", " gimme all your loving", "tube snake booggy" and others.
i saw ZZ Top back in 1975. Great show! Always got a kick out of the fact that the only guy without a beard in the band is named Frank Beard (the drummer). RIP to Dusty.
ZZ Top is from Houston, Texas. The guitarist Billy Gibbons opened for Jimi Hendrix several times and Jimi sang his praises in several interviews saying that he considered Gibbons one of the best around. While their studio was being worked on, they worked in a temp studio that was focused on hip-hop and rap. They got friendly with a bunch of the guys and started exchanging ideas. The result was ZZ Top releasing a song called "I gotsta get paid" which was a revamp of a '89 hip-hop song in Houston called "25 Lighters".
Places you might have seen them: they were the band in Back to the Future 3. Billy Gibbons (lead singer and guitarist) contributed vocals and guitar work on a trio of Nickelback songs, Follow You Home, Fight for All the Wrong Reasons and Rockstar. He was part of the music video for Rockstar. Originally they only wanted him on the first two, but after the recording session he asked about how the rest of the album was. When they played Rockstar, he repeated yelled "that's a hit." They obviously offered him a part, and he came up with his own lines for some of the pauses in the song.
This album was their largest commercial success, riding the backs of the holy trinity of sexiness in music videos from one band. This song, "Legs," and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" were inescapable that year. The album was a bit of a departure from what they had been recording for the previous 10 years, but they blew up even larger than they were before. Check out their tune, "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" from an album about 5 years earlier. I think you'll dig it.
Just to blow your mind- the young lady in the pink top went on to be one of the original Real Housewives of Orange County. Gena Keough was a Playboy playmate who parlayed her work in the magazine into music videos, films and later into real estate.
I know you would love the song and the video for ZZ Top's "She's Got Legs". Great reaction! That's my husband's favorite band. I remember in high school have and everybody rocking to ZZ top. That was definitely a favorite with the boys.
Always good to see a young'n picking up on the old tracks. You were correct MASSIVE airplay when this, and the other two in the trilogy with the Eliminator came up. The, "I'm in the wrong profession", had me on the floor. You're right, dressing well is it's own reward.
All the previous songs everyone is saying, and a song called! TUSH, are my favorites along with LA Grange! Just feel good rock music you can't help but to move to
ZZ Top would be a huge rabbit hole to go down over 50 years of great songs. Eliminator came out in '83 also the name of the car it and the girls were featured in several songs, after all it was the '80s. then they did Afterburner, even if you only do those two albums you will get some good reactions videos. by the way, the two guitar players have beards the drummer name is beard. And Dusty Hill bassist passed away in 2021, but they are still doing shows.
Radio play.....just....everywhere man. To the point that I wonder how you didn't hear it. Legs would be next. And yeah...the gals.....they're guardian angels. Ones we all wanted as teenage boys.....
I'm sure people give you a hard time, saying something about "how could you not know about a famous band?", maybe suggesting you're faking it just to get views. They forget that it's a big world and someone your age grew up on a different sound and bands like ZZ Top or Zeppelin just weren't in your world then. We could lay the blame on your parents for an incomplete upbringing :) Well, I say kudos to you for trying to make up for the holes in your musical knowledge and sharing that journey with us. Hopefully, you'll come to love and appreciate the stuff that we grew up on as much as we do. Keep up your journey.
There's a t-shirt that has lines on it for beard length. The next to longest line is Wizard. The longest one is ZZ Top. This was big on radio and on MTV, back when they played music videos. You should check out "Legs," it has the same car and girls in it. "LaGrange" is another ZZ Top classic about a real place that used to be outside LaGrange, Texas. They actually played there for the first time about 10 years ago. Keep on keepin' on, man!
Glad your going down this path.....All the videos interwind...Keep them coming. ZZ Top is awesome! Other groups to check out, Foreigner:(Urgent , Juke Box Hero) Survivor: (separate ways) Female Groups: Heart (Barracuda)...There are so many more....
Yeah, ZZ Top in general had a ton of radio play, and a lot of hits. This one was on the charts for 9 weeks straight, started at #80, peaked at #56. So... pretty good yeah.
You need to hear "La Grange", it's just style, style, style, with some fun.
The drummer doesn't have a beard, but his name is Beard... Frank Beard. Then there's Billy Gibbons on guitar and Dusty Hill (R. I. P.) on bass.
Billy with the crazy deep adlibs and Dusty on lead vocals.
It's such a shame Dusty leaving

This, along with “gimme all your lovin’”, and “legs” are all part of their fairy godfather videos. They show up and help out the guy or girl.
And then "Sleeping Bag" from the 'Afterburner' album was the end of that arc, I believe.
THis, La Grange, Legs, Gimme All Your Lovin' all got major radio play and are excellent songs
Tush
I can't sit or stand still with this song. What a blast from the past. ,ZZTOP just went back on the playlist! 😅❤
Gotta do "Legs" my guy.
La Grange and Tush as well.
The Legs video is certified gold, a true all-time MTV classic 🔥

Can't forget La Grange. But honestly there's so many good songs to listen to.
....and Burgerman!
@@OUsniper1 yes and Pearl Necklace, Tube Snake Boogie, Tush, and Got me under pressure!
I saw them days after Dusty died. It was my 3rd ZZ Top show. 😔

the car has a chevy chassis with a 350 engine....
Remember the old saying "sex sells"? Well ZZ Top took it to the limit in their videos!! Love it!!🥳🥳🥳🎶🎼🎵
ZZ was so damn big 50 years ago, they were just beginning to come out and they were so huge 40 years ago!! Chillaxing bro is what happens when you listening to the ZZ!!
This song is the definition of coolness!
Played a lot on MTV back in the day.❤
More classics!!!

True Legends of Rock
ZZ TOP - La Grange
Z Z Top! Them Texas Boys!!! Can't go wrong with anything they produced
ZZ Top was the best concert I ever saw. Blue Jean Blues and Waitin' For the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago are musts.
Have not seen anyone mention Cheap sunglasses another great song.
Thank you, I was looking and hoping someone would
I don't know how anyone alive doesn't know ZZ Top, there great
The appearing-disappearing motif became sort of their trademark for music videos. They come along as the patron saints of nerds and frustrated love.
Rock mixed with blues and a hint a jazz 🎉

The song Legs is a classic . ZZ Top was all over the radio back in the day
Loud, gritty and raw! Damn we had the best music!
ZZ Top was the best. I saw them live on the Recycler tour. I bought one of those key chains at the concert. I wish I still had it.

LaGrange and TUSH are classics as well.
Check out their early stuff. Pearl Necklace, yes, that's exactly what it's about, La Grange, etc.
