Wondeful work. I've always wondered how an agate guide was made. I've been building my own trout rods and now I'm going to build my own agate guides. Thanks for making the video.
What a pleasure to view a fine craftsman making these fly rod guides! Do you offer fly guide sets and tip tops for sale, please? I love he way you so carefully file the guide feet. Where are you located, please? Do you also build split cane fly rods for stream trout fishing? Many thanks for sharing!! Ron U., NE Iowa.
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, we make split cane rods with all our own shop-made hardware. We are in the Chicago area. We don’t sell commercially but are happy to do some one off projects.

I enjoyed the video; nicely done!
Love watching skilled craftsmanship.
Great work . loved it.
Great work! Helpful hint when sanding, move in a figure 8, the changes in direction/pressure will help prevent an uneven end product
Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
Very nice work!
Thanks!

Excellent! What is your source for the agate ring?
I get most of them on Etsy. Search for agate donuts.
