Well an interesting video to view, watch Dr Caldwell with his expert help again. We have had a little run on claw issues for the Lions, some because they are getting older and through age related issues. This time a surprise it is one of the younger Lions at the Sanctuary - Charlie. I know Dr Caldwell will considerably help and benefit the Lions with claw issues. Kevin, for a cheap solution to their claws getting long, you can mix sand and glue and use paint rollers and cover the bark on the trees in their enclosures so when they scratch it files them down.
Hey Kevin on may 9 2014 10 years ago today the van gills channel posted a video of you playing football with wild lions it was the first Kevin Richardson video I saw I was 11 years old and was amazed by the video also impressed by Livy Ginny and vayetse and bobcats big black mane and now I’m 21 I’ve been watching for 10 years I’m thinking of finally coming to South Africa to visit your sanctuary I’m so sad some of lions in that van gills video have sadly passed away but is your sanctuary open for tourists and how much does it cost kev I would to love to have pictures with you I’m such a big fan

It's amazing to me how you herd Thor's pride into their pens and to be able to get to Charlie.And it made me smile in the end when after the procedure, Thor and the girls were looking on. Either they're concerned for their pridemate or just being nosy. And it's always great to see Dr. Caldwell at work. Thank you for sharing. Hope Charlie feels better❤❤❤
Very precious that they're all waiting around the gate for him to wake up in recovery, just like family in a hospital.
That look the lions gave you when you brought him back, like "don't you DARE to hurt our Charlie!!" ... 😅 Love this pride. They might have their fights now and then but in moments like these it's all for one 🦁 Heartwarming every time how well you all care for these animals ❤

That explains some of hos grumpiness lately. He was hurting and that was his only way of dealing with it ❤ so glad the doc is there to help.

Dr. Caldwell is a great vet, always doing his best for all these animals. I love the scene when Charlie was brought back unconscious for recovery and all the lions were looking at him from the outside not happy at all, like saying “ what have you done to him” specially Thor and Jubari, you can tell they feel for each other, that was heartwarming; I know Charlie will feel much better after his pawdicure.

Hi everyone I just wanted to let Kevin and the gang know I’m recovering from brain surgery and I took the pride with me as I was so anxious they allowed me to quickly watch my fav videos before the surgery and u guys it really helped calm me down I took u guys with me!!!!! And I just wanted to say a massive thank you it would have been so much worse if I didn’t have my pride with me so massive thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Bit off topic here, but my grandpa recently died and he was from south africa and his voice sounds almost identical to yours. He would always tell me stories about his life in africa and the lions and wild dogs. He was like the father I never got to have, so whenever I'm stressed I come here and watch your amazing videos and it always puts me at ease. Yep, Dr. Caldwell has balls of steel ❤. I’d love to see him in a documentary. He’s got such a calm disposition, and taking pot shots at those lions with extraordinary skills, at 5.43 in to this clip, he’s calmly strolling away . I’ve always loved him. Watching him I mean ❤️❤️
You won't see pedi's/mani's in the wild! Haha They are extremely well taken care of.....it's commendable. Gives them a much better quality of life with no pain. Beautiful Charlie, what a gentleman.

It’s so wonderful to see the caring Dr Caldwell and his team. So interesting to see how the other lions were looking in watching what was happening with Charlie. I know and love that book “All Cats are on the Autism Spectrum” that PhillipMiner 3554 suggested. As an autistic person, I find the lions and your connection with them very calming and therapeutic.
