Its funny, I'm a staff compositor at DD in LA and from someone who's constantly working on all of the biggest Marvel movies that come out.... I find so much inspiration from what you guys at Rebelway are doing. So much in fact that I find myself just listening to these in the background while I'm working. Keep up the incredible work... You guys are absolutely killing it! And from a compositors perspective, the lighting of your fx elements are amazing... The lighting of the volumes so often gets overshadowed by the simulations that there isn't enough time to get it dialed properly. Kudos my friend.
I have no words thankfully there still brother aout there that help we do what we love because here in Greece we have big economic problems everything is going up price in i have no money even for the basic thank you for this present god bless you ❤
I really appreciate you guys and this tutorial is awesome. One thing though that's not ideal is that the presenter's screen resolution was probably 4K but the recording is in 1080p, so the text is blurry and quite difficult to read, especially in point wrangles.
This is very great tutorial, i'm also beginner to learn houdini but i miss something on your video . I used houdini 19.5 , i can't find vector align node in point vop !At the duration of 2:16:30 how can find vector align !
Seems like a great tutorial, however most of the time I can't make see what the presenter is setting/typing. A bit of a bummer from that perspective as one can't always follow. Thanks btw for all the amazing tutorials!
Hello ! Thank you for this tutorial! I was wondering is it possible to access the HDA RBF that is used in a part of the tutorial? Or in which rebelway tutos is it explained how this node works or how to create it please?
Hi there i know this is gonna be a weird question but can you please tell from your experience that how long does it take take you to make a vfx shot of 17 seconds full of fire simulations, shock waves, wind, destruction like a stacked full of vfx shot ( not real life footage its 3d a character using powers but really good ). Many people fails to answer this question however i have mentioned the duration and quality
They fail to answer it because your question doesn't make sense. You can't put a time period or estimate what it would take to make a random 17 seconds shot full of VFX. Also that's totally wrong approach and NOT how VFX are made. I've never heard of 17 sec or even more then 8 second shot full of constant VFX like that. Even if it is suppose to look like one continual shot it's quite out of the ordinary and I've never seen shot like that. Also what you mentioned would take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to look "really good" as you said. So as someone who works in VFX every day I would say you are looking at about 6 months period and probably 5 people min working on a shot. That is if you are going for current standards of TV and film quality. Also it would be extremely expensive, but that's not your question I am just mentioning it. For an actual precise estimate you would need a detailed breakdown, storyboard, possibly previs and then layout. When you have all of that it would be much easier to make educated decision on how long it would take. Hope that helps.
@@vanyakapetanovic4018 thank you for taking time and replying me. Have you taken any rebelway courses? If yes then specifically which one and how would you rate it. I am a beginner and thinking to buy their houdini fundamentals course. If i am very determined and spend 4-5 hours in learning houdini how long do you think it will take me to do vfx like this video: th-cam.com/video/f9KvaDu0nMw/w-d-xo.html also in this video the monster and ice man fight, as a solo project how long would it have taken to just do the vfx there no animation or modelling etc. anyways thnx!
@Xdoz Gaming Rebelway is amazing I am currently enrolled in "Houdini for FX" but if you are a beginner I do recommend their Houdini fundamental course. That being said I never took that fundamental course but I am sure it's a great intro to Houdini. I work in production every day and use Houdini and it's really a steep learning curve for sure but I would advise you to stick with it and eventually you will figure it out and it will take you less and less time to make great looking effects. 4 to 5 hours a day is fantastic amount. I did myself 10 to 12 sometimes but I think to 5 is perfect, healthy amount. Keep it going. That shot you are talking about (from the link) could take you I guess around 1 to 2 months for sure because there is so much going on (flip, rbds, smoke sims, particles). RND takes time, SIM takes time, then renders and comp take time. VFX is just a damn slow, delayed gratification craft:) Just stick with it and learn every day. Here's a good starting point for that shot th-cam.com/video/Y0Bp8CakTZA/w-d-xo.html. Hope that helps. Keep going man you are doing great! Also for whatever it's worth, this is my reel and it took me about 7 months to complete it all on my own. With animation, FX, comp and everything vimeo.com/manage/videos/657711015

Appreciate it!!! You rock.
@@Rebelway Respect between peers! Kudos to both of you guys!
Thank you so much for making this public. Just getting into VEX, and this actually tightens the knowledge perfectly. Very grateful.
glad it was helpful!! We have a whole course dedicated to VEX that might be of help to you as well!
@@Rebelway Ah nice, I will definitely check that out. It's a real pain, but even the first small successes are worth it all. Thanks again!
This is great, can't wait to get through the whole thing! Thanks for sharing such amazing techniques and workflows.
You're very welcome!

it’s 4k in the actual course just 1080p on youtube
Am a beginner but this motivated me to start learning Houdini today great job nice tut def look forward to the course once I’m able to purchase🙏🏾

This is from our course, Advance Magical FX. You gain access to the project files once you purchasing the course.
What's the name of the spaceship? Or is it just a random model? Do u provide it with the course?
Is that ok to use axiom solver instead of pyro solver for this project??
I am not sure I will ever grasp VEX. VOPs will be my home, hopefully that will be enough for the work I want to do!
You don't have to deal with vex at all if you learn vops.
great tutorial! 👍👍 what is your config to run such a big software?
Thanks, really interesting to see your approach to things.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Rebelway who do you think you are to give out this kind of work for free. Thank you for considering us too
glad you enjoy it!
Demigod in action... Thank You!
You bet!
Hey Brother, This Visual Effect, can be used in the Game Industry? Please Answer me, Bro!
What are your computer settings
is there the hip file available somewhere ?
This is a preview from one of our courses. The files are made available upon purchasing the course.

The only issue with this scene is that none of that lightning light is hitting the object in question.

I also found this strange. Still looks awesome though
