Can you imagine what level of epiphany a fast food junkie would experience?
Anyone really cooking burgers in a private setup knows it's a very slow cook. Even if you use prepared sauce and bread, there's a lot to watch and get with the right pace. Stuff he doesn't do BTW:
- onions (cook them or not) and tomatoes slices. Real Big Mac has a surprising amount of onions, both in the dressing and fresh BTW. The Big Mac dressing is like a lot of industrial dressing pretty complex if you do it by yourself for a few people
- melted cheese at the end of meat cooking
- warming/frying/toasting buns
- fries or other side dishes
- bacon
May sound trivial in isolation but multiply this by 4 guests and it's a lot to handle, especially as you can burn the bun or the bacon real fast.
And that's already a huge effort he does. Burgers are layered with so many elements you can all spend so much care with you have to make some compromise while cooking for the family.

Isn't the end result the most important part? Who cares about what the tools look like and whether the ingredients sat in a wooden bowl? I prefer sanitary over pretty when it comes to food prep.

I've had a lot of jobs in my life, some included heavy lifting, some included guiding aggressive people with mental handicaps, and now I do consulting at a fancy office. But never in my life have I worked harder than at a weekend shift in the kitchen of McDonald's.
These people work their asses off, for too low wages, so other people can buy a $1 hamburger. They might struggle to make ends meet, because they're being exploited, but they work harder than most people. I have massive respect for people working in the fast food industry.

Lol...a study was recently released that said people who tend to be highly intelligent hate the sounds of people eating. Now I'm not agreeing with the highly intelligent part, but when I have someone next to me chewing like a horse, or when I watch a close up of someone eating and being able to hear every sound it irritates me.
