Much Better than we Expected (Ep. 31)

We thought LAPAZ would be crowded and too much like a City - we were Wrong. We loved it.
We are taking a break to re-stock in La Paz and have a little Happy Hour tour. We hit the Don Pablo Elotes stand and kick off our new road-side roasted chicken obsession with a visit to El Pollo Loco just on the edge of La Paz. Why are these not as popular as street tacos we ask?
We decided to check out Playa Tecalote but honestly it was too crazy of a scene for us. Carona umbrellas, loud music and way too many people we can see in our own country. Not exactly what we can to Mexico for. So we ket driving down the remote sand road to find ourselves at Playa Las Pilitas. Wow - what a great beach to camp on. Crystal clear water. Views. And some of the coolest shrines we have seen yet.
On the anniversary of my Sisters passing, the day we were leaving, one of the shrines revealed itself at morning's low tide. What an amazing thing to wake up to.

Ok, help me out. Did you do a ton of research or did you have general ideas and then iterate on the way. I've always found local knowledge is the best knowledge but I can't help myself in the research department.

Great question. We usually do both. Some research before hand so we don’t miss spots for beginner surfing and roads we know the van can do. We also talk a lot to locals, the military guys at the check points and other travelers.
