My goodness I have not had this since I was a child! The spread was called Sandwich Spread by Kraft. My Mother would buy the bologna in the long loaf. We had a grinder that turned by hand. Memories!

Reminds me of my dearly departed mother in law. She was a pioneer lady who raised 11 children on the farm through good times and bad. She was such a hard worker, an amazing cook and gardener, and prepared meals from her fresh vegetables for her family. She was also strong in her faith as you are and was thankful for her blessings. She also had a grandson named Corey who she adored. It’s so beautiful to see the relationship between you and your grandson and how you share your recipes and stories with him. I admire Mamaw’s transparency and honesty about life. My grandmother made this but without the cheese. We used a hand meat grinder bolted to the counter. I just remembered, she added hard boiled eggs to hers. We called it "Nonnie's spread."

I grew up on bologna salad & there was a little convenience store called Lawson’s in Columbus, Ohio that had a small deli in the back & they sold that stuff by the pounds, sold out everyday! Those were some of the best memories I have in this old 75 year mind. I have relatives from the Beckley area. My great grandparents were the Butchers. Also around the Parkersburg area. My dad was famous in our family for making the salad. He made it for our family, gatherings, weddings, and just about any other occasion, he called and ham salad, however and for most of my life, I thought it was ham until I watched him make it one day.

A trip down memory lane, a girlfriend used to bring that in her lunch. She used jalapeño bologna when she could find it and also sandwich spread. I think you might find it at walmart. Loved the recipe, and will make it again ❤

It’s orange and has relish in it. It comes in a jar the size of mayonnaise. Google Kraft and Best Maid sandwich spread. It’s great when added to potato salad with the mayonnaise and mustard.

I was raised on that bologna salad way back when. After the holidays it became the ham salad. When you were a large family you made everything stretch and no one complained.

My mom got pregnant with her 8th child at the same time two of my sisters were pregnant with their 1st child❤your a very strong women/mother. My mom gave up and died 4 months after my oldest sister over dosed. My mom was also religious like you. Miss her so much❤
I remember the sandwich spread. We still have it in stores here. I think it’s just mostly mayo with the sweet relish and a bit of ketchup to make it pinkish. Our church ladies always made these baloney salad sandwiches for the midnight lunches at weddings and for funerals. Those and the canned asparagus with velveeta cheese sandwiches were always good.

This brings back such memories! Back in the 60s-70s, my grandma made bologna salad with ring bologna-kinda like you find polish sausage or kielbasa, which was commonly found back then- with a manual meat grinder that was attached to her kitchen counter. Gosh I loved that stuff! Especially on soft white bread 😋

I lost my Grandson with an over dosed on meth laced with something else. 19 years old I tried to stop him from doing it by getting him into treatment.

Bologna salad sandwiches..oh my gosh...for bologna lovers this is brilliant. My dear sweet Ron would have loved this. He sure enjoyed fried bologna and eggs whenever we went camping. Of course he was born and raised in West Virginia so he taught this downeastener to like the same thing. Yummy. These cooking shows with the two of you are comforting to me. Thankyou❤

My dad was famous in our family for making the salad. He made it for our family, gatherings, weddings, and just about any other occasion, he called and ham salad, however and for most of my life, I thought it was ham until I watched him make it one day.

I also dip it in egg, then bread crumbs and fry it.

A trip down memory lane, a girlfriend used to bring that in her lunch. She used jalapeño bologna when she could find it and also sandwich spread. I think you might find it at walmart. Loved the recipe, and will make it again ❤

It’s orange and has relish in it. It comes in a jar the size of mayonnaise. Google Kraft and Best Maid sandwich spread. It’s great when added to potato salad with the mayonnaise and mustard.

I was raised on that bologna salad way back when. After the holidays it became the ham salad. When you were a large family you made everything stretch and no one complained.

My mom got pregnant with her 8th child at the same time two of my sisters were pregnant with their 1st child❤your a very strong women/mother. My mom gave up and died 4 months after my oldest sister over dosed. My mom was also religious like you. Miss her so much❤
I remember the sandwich spread. We still have it in stores here. I think it’s just mostly mayo with the sweet relish and a bit of ketchup to make it pinkish. Our church ladies always made these baloney salad sandwiches for the midnight lunches at weddings and for funerals. Those and the canned asparagus with velveeta cheese sandwiches were always good.

This brings back such memories! Back in the 60s-70s, my grandma made bologna salad with ring bologna-kinda like you find polish sausage or kielbasa, which was commonly found back then- with a manual meat grinder that was attached to her kitchen counter. Gosh I loved that stuff! Especially on soft white bread 😋
