Tony losing the Tesseract is NOT the problem. That was suppose to happen. The Tesseract landing near LOKI is not the problem. That was suppose to happen. Loki using the Tesseract to escape is the problem. Imagine where the events of ENDGAME happen, but instead of LOKI escaping the soldier next to LOKI puts the Tesseract back in the box safely. The Future AVENGERS could not re-capture the Tesseract at that point and they would be forced to go back in time again... hence the rest of the movie happens without any change. Loki is still captured and continues on in his path... which is part of the sacred timeline.
Who said it was a problem? I was just saying it’s Tony’s fault that it happened. The problem, not for us, is the idea of what is and is not supposed to happen. As an example, why is Thanos traveling through time to fight a huge war ok on the sacred timeline?
@@NikkiStevenReact again its not tony's fault. THAT is and will and should always happen. The fault is LOKI's for escaping. In the proper timeline, LOKI does not escape. LOKI escaping is the NEXUS event and not the Tony dropping the Tesseract. Loki has a choice of doing nothing and not escaping... this is what he should have done. However, he decided to escape and that caused the NEXUS event. The fact that the Tesseract was there is an event that happens.
Everything Tom as Loki says is supposed to be impressive or threatening, to rile the other people up. Owen Wilson is great at playing someone it's impossible to rile up.
The moment Loki paused for awhile when he realised her plan, is the moment he realised she was a better option for him in the long run. I mean, if this version of Loki can cause that much chaos to an organisation like the TVA, that's someone you want to be on your side. Plus she's basically him, and is much easier to connect with in away.

Neat detail in the Pompeii scene: Loki speaks like two or three whole sentences to just say the word "erupt", which I found was very nice attention to detail because the Romans didn't start thinking for a word to describe a volcano erupting until _after_ the disaster of Pompeii happened, so if he had said something like "erumpet" everyone around him would just have gone "what you even talking about boy?", so he really was describing in detail the idea of molten rocks and smoke flowing into the town and destroying everything.

I think the thing about the red line doesn't automatically lead to destruction, I think it means the space and altered time flow stabilize enough into their own distinct world that the TVA can't prune anymore. Going by what they said, while they can only travel through real time during a nexus event, it isn't stable yet, so they can use their reset bomb to resolve the anomaly, but if they don't act fast enough eventually that instability will stabilize and their method to correct the issue will no longer work in that new timeline, and thus a new timeline and universe will exist parallel to the original one. That is how I took the information that was presented to us.
Good point! I think you're correct. It looked like when pruning the timeline, it got rid of all variances. The helmets, the people, etc. We saw the timeline shrink back completely, since nothing ever changed, because it was deleted. It healed the timeline automatically. This just raises so many more questions on how the time travel in end game worked. If the time travel causes branch timelines (when it's not the time keepers will, as we see in Pompeii), then it's up for debate on what causes alternate timelines. If the time keepers said it was supposed to happen, would that make alternate timelines at all? If it didn't, then the stones are the way they made the alternate timeline. I really hope we get more explanations on how it all works, since we've got some, but it's still a bit, abstract.
I just think they’re fascists who trip out on power and use bureaucratic professionalism to come off as “good” because they promote order, but the universe is naturally in chaos and “destiny” just seems like “we don’t allow free will and will enjoy punishing you for crimes you have no way of knowing exist”. I don’t trust the Time Keepers, benevolent forces aren’t that brutal and low key insidious about controlling everyone (did I force a pun? Okay yes.)
This episode was amazing!!! 💚 A lot of people noticed that the Castilian credits call her Sylvie. Sylvie is echantress in the comics a character connected to Lady Loki. I personally think this means that Marvel Studios decided to make Sylvie the MCU's Lady Loki but we'll see

I think it is more likely this isn't supposed to be Lady Loki because they hinted at her being someone else when Loki couldn't predict her moves correctly. ( would make sense if she is NOT a Loki. ) And him saying "I would never hurt myself like this." It would be an interesting plottwist if it turns out that she isnt Lady Loki which most people asumed so far. Her being credited as Sylvie was probably a mistake, they probably not meant to reveal her real name yet in this episode. ( or its a sneaky hint for people who pay attention. )

and i think they still think you have to time travel to cause a nexus event, and it's not actually neccesary, there has to happen anything that is not supposed to, with time travel or without it.
@@martinpp95 right time travel is not the Nexus events choices are. There was a choice when Loki saw the Tesseract. Choice 1, ignore it and the sacred timeline goes on. Choice 2, do something with the Tesseract - and THAT choice causes the Nexus Event.

Yeah, that was my issue with that scene. They were trying really hard to explain a somewhat simple-to-explain concept with a far-too-flashy analogy that just distracts more so than explain. But the Pompeii scene explains it a lot better anyways, so it's fine.
That explanation actually made it worse. It's only the people, who die that aren't effected by messing with them, because they...die. Shoving Hulk off the bridge could still change something in his mind to do something different later on. Even though it would be minor.
@Nikki & Steven React, I could be wrong, but I think you're looking at things a little wrong. Maybe things aren't as complicated as we think they are. What as the story told us so far either visually or with actual story? We know that the Sacred Timeline is the multiverse restructured and reorder into one big harmonious stream of time. The Sacred timeline, while one, isn't exactly one--the Sacred Timeline, when shown in Miss Minutes explanation looks like a bunch of spaghetti noodles moving independent of one another, all flowing in the same direction, forward. We also know that there are three Time-Keepers. It's probably safe to assume that each one represents the three types of time: past, present and future. We also know that the Time-Keepers are busy untangle and planning the story of time. If each Time-Keeper has his own specific specialty, I think time (past, present and future) are all happening at the same time in the Sacred Timeline, which would help explain Mobius line when he told Loki in the first story that time moves differently here. The TVA is in a void outside of time and from what we've seen in this episode, they can travel to the past, present or future at a moments notice. One of the commercials shows what looks like the Sacred Timeline circling a hollowed out asteroid sort like a while or donut--the monitor TVA analyst watch is a single screen showing a straight line, yet the TVA is constantly looking for variants. Maybe time isn't expanding, but is a constant loop that fits easily on a single screen. We know a Variant is a person who goes off script. 2012 Loki is a variant because he didn't do what present day Loki did when he was in the same spot in 2012, which was go with Thor to Asgard for his crimes. This episode revealed that Loki is the one Variant they encounter more often than any other, and we saw a number of different Loki in the brief before their mission to Oshkosh. Since the story is told in a way that we would understand, Loki is at the center of this story which works great for us as we all know how his story ends. Every Loki Variant is a Loki that doesn't do what Loki does in any of the movies we've seen. I disagree with Steve about 2012 Loki's problems being Tony's fault. How could he have known what was going to happen when they improvised on the spot, changing how 2012 really happened? Tony was on the floor having what looked like a heart attack and he was surrounded by people trying to save him. All eyes were on him, not on Hulk who angrily smashes his way through a door. Loki doesn't like the idea of someone telling him what he can/cannot do. He didn't like it when Odin denied him ascension to kinghood and he certainly doesn't like it now that the TVA has reduced his very existence to that of a stepping stone for others to raise up. When Loki's back is to the wall, he often aligns himself with someone of power to give him an edge. Present day Loki did that with Thanos...who did Lady Loki align with?! Kang? Or could it be...wait for it...MEPHISTO?! When Mobius talked with Loki in this episode, he spoke about time ending, and ending in peace. Mephisto fears the end of time, as it would mean the end of his manipulations of people everywhere. Bombing the Sacred Timeline, creating chaos and branches that create branches on top of branches would be right up his ally, as time would cease to be liner and would truly become infinite--there is a connection to Mephisto and the TVA, so I wouldn't be surprised if Lady Loki came to know of the TVA through her alignment with Mephisto, but I guess we'll have to see in future stories.
Regards several comments Lady Loki is in fact simply Loki. In Norse Mythology (and in the comics) Loki the shapeshifter in more than one story takes female form, after all Loki gave birth to Sleipner, Odin's 8 legged horse (bit more than a disguise)..

I think it is not Lady Loki, because in the cast of the spanish voice actors says Sylvie , which in the Marvel comics is the name of one of the versions of "The Enchantress". In English says The Variant but in spanish voice actors says Sylvie ,The Enchantress.

Watch New rockstars they kinda predicted the sacred timeline would be f'd even before that i did cause dr strange 2 is called Multiverse of Madness and Ms Minutes uttered Madness and Multiverse in 1 sentence in epi 1 hinting at Dr strange 2 so i kind of figured something would cause the sacred timeline to spiral into multiple timelines which the trailer also hinted at when it showed a version of new york thats destroyed

Great reaction! But, Steven...I don't think you're giving Loki Laufeyson enough credit. I don't think Lady Loki is necessarily smarter than our Loki. He's been at the TVA for the equivalent of one day and he already understands "time" better than the agents that monitor and regulate it. So much so, that he was able to understand how she was moving about, attacking agents and creating havoc without them being able to apprehend her. It may just be that she's been dealing with the TVA for a longer period of time, for example: a month...or a year, as opposed to just coming into contact with them, like our guy. As to her plan, I don't know what it is...but it may not be better than our Loki's. Her plan may be something terrible and outrageous like: total destruction of the timeline. Which would probably be bad for all of us here on Earth...which our Loki may, or may not, have a problem with. =)
FYI: The stones only work in their own universes and are powerless in other universes, so even if Loki took a stone and went back they would not work. Each Universe has their stones that have been there since the creation of the universe. Those stones Loki found are probably from Universes the TVA wiped out.

Finally! I've been waiting for someone to say that Miss Minutes is reminiscent of Jurassic Park! That's the first thing I think of every time I hear her.
When the variants reach the red line it doesn't suddenly destroy the main timeline it just prevents the TVA from being able to control the new timelines that will then create even more new timelines until a new multiversal war breaks out. From the TVA's point of view a multiverse war of mass destruction is inevitable if time isn't strictly controlled. Since we all knew the name of the next doctor strange movie it was always kind of obvious something like this was going to happen.
Loki is moving through time while Lady Loki is actually traveling in the past. That's how she knows think about it. The way she jumping body to body you actually answered that in the beginning of your reaction. Lady Loki went back to the office and took a Mind Stone off someone's desk. Don't need the Time Stone when your a the place where Time is controlled.
How does Lady Loki know so much? she has a TVA device that allows her to move throughout time. We've seen her hundreds of years in the past and in the future now. She can go anywhere, any time.

Lady Loki's timeline was pruned but she survived and maybe her goal is to restore all the timelines that were destroyed or "pruned" into the sacred timeline, and she wants to recreate her timeline perhaps
So that Lady Loki's main trick seems to be posession, which gives you a clue how she might have come to know everything. Became a variant, met TVA, posessed a member of TVA during capture, infiltrated, learned a buncha shit, manufactured a scheme, run away etc. That ability is pretty bonkers if you think about it.
I think we’re dealing with two possible things here: 1) Loki may have caused all of this for a selfish reason - the superior Loki may only be superior because of direct influence from our TVA-educated Loki and 2) These brief, tear-jerking glimpses into his would-have-been future (our past MCU) may have been his inspiration. Q: Should the TVA (Mobius) already know about all this? A: Not if TVA itself is an apocalyptic event. 🤔
Feel like it is better for Loki to go with Lady Loki in the long run. Mobius and the guards thought he attacked them so they would have pruned him. Also finding out her plan and then backstabbing her is way better for him.
She's resetting the Time Keepers (specifically where in time to find them and when they are), Restoring the Multiverse by changing the path the ones who destroyed it before it happened, AND, since one of the Time Keepers is a version of Kang, Creating the Greatest threat that the MCU has ever seen.
my only question is, if there is only one timeline because the time keepers destroy all others so there is no other timeline than how are all these other loki's brought into existence if they aren't suppose to exist anyway? I might be thinking about this too hard LOL
When Mobius told Loki, in the first episode that Loki was there to make others the best versions of himself…. What if the Variant is there to make Loki the best version of HIMSELF.
Loki we are seeing is the real Loki he's the one who broke the timeline so the TVA knew exactly where he was going to turn up but all the other Loki variants spontaneously appeared.
Wonder if we'll also get a Kid Loki variant. I know Kid Loki in the comics was like a reborn Loki, but for the MCU we could get a Kid Loki variant since it seems that's the more plausible cause of action. Please don't belittle our Loki. "Lady Loki" has just one advantage - she knew about the Time Keepers. Loki didn't, but he's nevertheless extremely intelligent and also a few steps ahead. I mean, he was the only one who figured out, how they could find her. Also I'm sure, the second he arrived at the TVA he had made up several possibilities/plans in his head how to get out of there. He tries to find out everything he needs to know about the TVA and what is going on, what's behind all this. In literal terms, if they hit the red line, the timeline is solidified. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end of everything. That’s just what the TVA told us.

This just raises so many more questions on how the time travel in end game worked. If the time travel causes branch timelines (when it's not the time keepers will, as we see in Pompeii), then it's up for debate on what causes alternate timelines. If the time keepers said it was supposed to happen, would that make alternate timelines at all? If it didn't, then the stones are the way they made the alternate timeline. I really hope we get more explanations on how it all works, since we've got some, but it's still a bit, abstract.

I just think they’re fascists who trip out on power and use bureaucratic professionalism to come off as “good” because they promote order, but the universe is naturally in chaos and “destiny” just seems like “we don’t allow free will and will enjoy punishing you for crimes you have no way of knowing exist”. I don’t trust the Time Keepers, benevolent forces aren’t that brutal and low key insidious about controlling everyone (did I force a pun? Okay yes.)

A lot of people noticed that the Castilian credits call her Sylvie.
Sylvie is echantress in the comics a character connected to Lady Loki.
I personally think this means that Marvel Studios decided to make Sylvie the MCU's Lady Loki but we'll see

Tony losing the Tesseract is NOT the problem. That was suppose to happen. The Tesseract landing near LOKI is not the problem. That was suppose to happen. Loki using the Tesseract to escape is the problem. Imagine where the events of ENDGAME happen, but instead of LOKI escaping the soldier next to LOKI puts the Tesseract back in the box safely. The Future AVENGERS could not re-capture the Tesseract at that point and they would be forced to go back in time again... hence the rest of the movie happens without any change. Loki is still captured and continues on in his path... which is part of the sacred timeline.
and i think they still think you have to time travel to cause a nexus event, and it's not actually neccesary, there has to happen anything that is not supposed to, with time travel or without it.
@@martinpp95 right time travel is not the Nexus events choices are. There was a choice when Loki saw the Tesseract. Choice 1, ignore it and the sacred timeline goes on. Choice 2, do something with the Tesseract - and THAT choice causes the Nexus Event.

Yeah, that was my issue with that scene. They were trying really hard to explain a somewhat simple-to-explain concept with a far-too-flashy analogy that just distracts more so than explain. But the Pompeii scene explains it a lot better anyways, so it's fine.

I could be wrong, but I think you're looking at things a little wrong. Maybe things aren't as complicated as we think they are. What as the story told us so far either visually or with actual story?
We know that the Sacred Timeline is the multiverse restructured and reorder into one big harmonious stream of time. The Sacred timeline, while one, isn't exactly one--the Sacred Timeline, when shown in Miss Minutes explanation looks like a bunch of spaghetti noodles moving independent of one another, all flowing in the same direction, forward.
We also know that there are three Time-Keepers. It's probably safe to assume that each one represents the three types of time: past, present and future.
We also know that the Time-Keepers are busy untangle and planning the story of time. If each Time-Keeper has his own specific specialty, I think time (past, present and future) are all happening at the same time in the Sacred Timeline, which would help explain Mobius line when he told Loki in the first story that time moves differently here. The TVA is in a void outside of time and from what we've seen in this episode, they can travel to the past, present or future at a moments notice. One of the commercials shows what looks like the Sacred Timeline circling a hollowed out asteroid sort like a while or donut--the monitor TVA analyst watch is a single screen showing a straight line, yet the TVA is constantly looking for variants. Maybe time isn't expanding, but is a constant loop that fits easily on a single screen.
We know a Variant is a person who goes off script. 2012 Loki is a variant because he didn't do what present day Loki did when he was in the same spot in 2012, which was go with Thor to Asgard for his crimes. This episode revealed that Loki is the one Variant they encounter more often than any other, and we saw a number of different Loki in the brief before their mission to Oshkosh. Since the story is told in a way that we would understand, Loki is at the center of this story which works great for us as we all know how his story ends. Every Loki Variant is a Loki that doesn't do what Loki does in any of the movies we've seen.
I disagree with Steve about 2012 Loki's problems being Tony's fault. How could he have known what was going to happen when they improvised on the spot, changing how 2012 really happened? Tony was on the floor having what looked like a heart attack and he was surrounded by people trying to save him. All eyes were on him, not on Hulk who angrily smashes his way through a door.
Loki doesn't like the idea of someone telling him what he can/cannot do. He didn't like it when Odin denied him ascension to kinghood and he certainly doesn't like it now that the TVA has reduced his very existence to that of a stepping stone for others to raise up. When Loki's back is to the wall, he often aligns himself with someone of power to give him an edge. Present day Loki did that with Thanos...who did Lady Loki align with?! Kang? Or could it be...wait for it...MEPHISTO?! When Mobius talked with Loki in this episode, he spoke about time ending, and ending in peace. Mephisto fears the end of time, as it would mean the end of his manipulations of people everywhere. Bombing the Sacred Timeline, creating chaos and branches that create branches on top of branches would be right up his ally, as time would cease to be liner and would truly become infinite--there is a connection to Mephisto and the TVA, so I wouldn't be surprised if Lady Loki came to know of the TVA through her alignment with Mephisto, but I guess we'll have to see in future stories.

Regards several comments Lady Loki is in fact simply Loki. In Norse Mythology (and in the comics) Loki the shapeshifter in more than one story takes female form, after all Loki gave birth to Sleipner, Odin's 8 legged horse (bit more than a disguise)..
That wasn't the variant Loki's case file. That was the original's that died in Infinity War.

In the Spanish credits , Sophia Di Martino is called "Sylvie".
I think that's the name she will go by. We already know she doesn't like to be called Loki possibly because she found out that she basically had no free will Because of the TVA. I know Sylvie is the Enchantress' name but the MCU could just combine several different comic book to one, like what they did with other characters.

The power of Loki to change from a body to another reminded me the movie "Fallen", with Denzel Washington, which I recommend you to see if you haven't yet.

But, Steven...I don't think you're giving Loki Laufeyson enough credit. I don't think Lady Loki is necessarily smarter than our Loki. He's been at the TVA for the equivalent of one day and he already understands "time" better than the agents that monitor and regulate it. So much so, that he was able to understand how she was moving about, attacking agents and creating havoc without them being able to apprehend her. It may just be that she's been dealing with the TVA for a longer period of time, for example: a month...or a year, as opposed to just coming into contact with them, like our guy. As to her plan, I don't know what it is...but it may not be better than our Loki's. Her plan may be something terrible and outrageous like: total destruction of the timeline. Which would probably be bad for all of us here on Earth...which our Loki may, or may not, have a problem with. =)
I hope they continue to show off Loki’s true power. In the comic he tricked the literal devil TVA should be child’s play

FYI: The stones only work in their own universes and are powerless in other universes, so even if Loki took a stone and went back they would not work. Each Universe has their stones that have been there since the creation of the universe. Those stones Loki found are probably from Universes the TVA wiped out.

Finally! I've been waiting for someone to say that Miss Minutes is reminiscent of Jurassic Park! That's the first thing I think of every time I hear her.
When the variants reach the red line it doesn't suddenly destroy the main timeline it just prevents the TVA from being able to control the new timelines that will then create even more new timelines until a new multiversal war breaks out. From the TVA's point of view a multiverse war of mass destruction is inevitable if time isn't strictly controlled. Since we all knew the name of the next doctor strange movie it was always kind of obvious something like this was going to happen.
Loki is moving through time while Lady Loki is actually traveling in the past. That's how she knows think about it. The way she jumping body to body you actually answered that in the beginning of your reaction. Lady Loki went back to the office and took a Mind Stone off someone's desk. Don't need the Time Stone when your a the place where Time is controlled.

How does Lady Loki know so much? she has a TVA device that allows her to move throughout time. We've seen her hundreds of years in the past and in the future now. She can go anywhere, any time.
I have a theory, I think that back when the timelines were battling for supremacy, there was a universe/timeline/reality where Loki was born female and still found and raised by the Asgard royal family aka Odin. Lady Loki's timeline was pruned but she survived and maybe her goal is to restore all the timelines that were destroyed or "pruned" into the sacred timeline, and she wants to recreate her timeline perhaps

So that Lady Loki's main trick seems to be posession, which gives you a clue how she might have come to know everything. Became a variant, met TVA, posessed a member of TVA during capture, infiltrated, learned a buncha shit, manufactured a scheme, run away etc. That ability is pretty bonkers if you think about it.
I think we’re dealing with two possible things here: 1) Loki may have caused all of this for a selfish reason - the superior Loki may only be superior because of direct influence from our TVA-educated Loki and 2) These brief, tear-jerking glimpses into his would-have-been future (our past MCU) may have been his inspiration.

Feel like it is better for Loki to go with Lady Loki in the long run. Mobius and the guards thought he attacked them so they would have pruned him. Also finding out her plan and then backstabbing her is way better for him.
She's resetting the Time Keepers (specifically where in time to find them and when they are), Restoring the Multiverse by changing the path the ones who destroyed it before it happened, AND, since one of the Time Keepers is a version of Kang, Creating the Greatest threat that the MCU has ever seen.

Please don't belittle our Loki. "Lady Loki" has just one advantage - she knew about the Time Keepers. Loki didn't, but he's nevertheless extremely intelligent and also a few steps ahead. I mean, he was the only one who figured out, how they could find her. Also I'm sure, the second he arrived at the TVA he had made up several possibilities/plans in his head how to get out of there. He tries to find out everything he needs to know about the TVA and what is going on, what's behind all this. He knows that there's something off with the Time Keepers and that's also the reason why he follows "Lady Loki". Can't wait to watch the next episode.

In literal terms, if they hit the red line, the timeline is solidified. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end of everything. That’s just what the TVA told us.
