please, as a disabled person, let me tell you: use the word disabled/disability. it is not a slur and I'm tired of people acting like it's a bad word. it is simpy a word that describes a part of our life and should be used. I mean you also talk about these people's queerness and that's just a part of their life too. so why shouldn't we use the word disabled that describes one part of their life while still using the word queer that describes another part of their life. this comment is not meant as an attack in any way and instead to be educating ^^ love you and your videos
Though I'm late to this video, I still wanted to leave a comment. Thank you for this video, I'll definitely check some books out! :D I want to second the recommendation to read "Loveless" by Alice Oseman. It was nice to see the representation and also, I really think it is written in a way so people can imagine a little bit more what is feels like to be aro/ace, escpecially figuring it out. I heard from two more books, which (part of) deal with asexuality: "Breasts and Eggs" by Mieko Kawakami has an asexual character and "Ace" by Angela Chen is a non-fiction book about asexuality, which collects the view and stories of a lot of different aces. Just as a disclaimer, I haven't read them yet, they're still on my wishlist, so I don't know how good they are. Wishing everyone who reads this a pleasant day! :)
Oh my god, These Violent Delights, by Micah nemerever (not the more popular book of the same name) is so good, it’s a true crime based tale of love and obsession and the relationship is super unhealthy (speaking as it ends in murder) but the book is incredibly well written and centers 2 queer (but cis) boys in the 70s. Not the kinda thing you want to emulate your relationship around, but one of the best written books I have ever read, with horrible decisions, a truly tragic love story, and so much symbolism you could write a fifty page treatise on it. Five stars, strongly recommend. Triggers: murder, violence, homophobia, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, sexual content
Two Books for Aromantics I would recommend would be Tarnished are the Stars, somewhat of a futuristic dystopian as a unlikely trio are stuck working together to bring down those in power. Not only is there an Aromantic character but also a W/W pairing as well :3. I would also recommend Common Bonds, an anthology of speculative short stories and poetry featuring aromantic characters.
finding new queer books to read always makes me so so happy !! i loved ‘delilah green doesn’t care’ and ‘the falling in love montage’ , both great sapphic romances 🌈 so many favs in this video btw🧚🏻♀️
I’ve heard great things about ‘Delilah green doesn’t care’ and now I put it on my TBR 😍 I will look into ‘the falling in love montage’. Title sound amazing 😍💓
Great video. Even put some on my TBR 😊 another book recommendation (sadly not LGBTQ + ) is Song for a Whale. It's about 12 year old Iris creating a song for the whale blue 55 (inspired by the 52 hertz whale). The twist: she's deaf. I really liked it :) inspired me to learn some ASL :D
I hope you don't mind, but I have some for you: Loveless by Alice Oseman, Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire, The Bone People by Keri Hulme, Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand.

It’s actually my sister’s dress and she got it a few years ago from pretty little thing. I don’t know if they still have it but I hope this helps 🥰
