Lemon has the mentality of a dawg and has a chance to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Lane has a catch radius greater than 95% of NFL receivers. Both have great hands...
They’ll be drafted in the 1st round next year makai and lane will be the best receivers in the big 10 next year or top 4 with Jeremiah smith also in that discussion
Desman Stephens Kam fountain and Bryan Jackson did not look like freshman. In addition, yes Jayden did not play well but to clutch up in the fourth and lead a game winning drive is big time. When he’s on he throws strikes but also makes some puzzling decisions. It’s up to Lincoln whether he thinks he can fix him or not
JM needs to invest in himself and do what he needs to do to get better, hire a QB coach on top with LR, to help him mentally. JM issues are not physical, it's more mental, it's his reads, decision making and knowing when to get out of the pocket etc. 🤔
I said from day 1 of the recruiting class that Makai Lemon > Zach Branch you could see who could run routes and who couldn't. Lemon was held back in year one because the staff really wanted him to play CB.
I actually think that not having all of the wide receivers there helped the offense be more focused and efficient. No rhythm develops when you’re swapping players so often, IMO. Maiava desperately needs consistency and decision making. OL needs to be shored up in a big way. Lane, Lemon, BJac are game changers for them. LR offense operates best in a dual threat (or at least decently mobile) QB due to the RPO Props to SC for fighting all 60 minutes.
@ completely agree, the few times he did run it was bad. LR offense has to have that QB that can hold the ball on zone read and get 5-10 yards and slide. Cant run his triple option RPO if you don’t have the third option 🤣
That was the problem Riley played 5-6 receivers every game trying to feed too many guys. That’s why I think lane & Lennon are both going to have over 1000 yards next year. Jayden has to get better
@ spot on with both, I remember LRs best offenses at OU, he had 1-2 superstars and another 1-2 “B-B+” WRs and a good tight end. Less rotation and a QB/WR/TE group can spend a lot of time in practice developing chemistry. I really don’t know that Jayden reads defenses, and his decision making has to improve, his mobility is pretty bad too.
Im ALL about My Trojans but Lincoln Riley needs to show growth. He continues to manage the clock wrong before then end of 1sr down, if he finds something that works like running up the middle, he will completely abandon it. Sometimes I watch and I think hes trolling us. He makes the same mistakes over and over again. He is a more tolerable clay helton. Year 4 with some many question marks is terrifying. When the team roster is a revolving door, your program never gets ahead it only stays the same, treading water for another year. There is no QB on the roster that is going to mask enough flaws for this team to be playoff contenders. Its goong to be rinse wash and repeat next year. Not until Husan Longstreet's junior year will this team be good enough on paper to compete for a playoff spot. And Im being generous. #ImJustBeingHonest
USC's offensive system under Lincoln Riley is known for producing NFL-ready quarterbacks, which could be an ideal environment for Manning's development. This move would also place him in the spotlight of Los Angeles media, enhancing his brand even further.
I think Maiava can come into his own with a year of development and with the ones in the offseason, but still need to go portal shopping for a qb either way
Hasan Longstreet will be our starting QB next year✌️Maiva just looked lost and confused a lot. But at the end he looked like An NFL QB the way he Carved up A&M
Maiava is going to need to competition and going to need to be coached up. He's got weapons around him, but he's gotta clean up his mistakes, luckily, most of his interceptions this game didn't hurt. But has to clean that up. Makai and Jakobi are our guys. Kyle Ford, thank you! Our o line is playing lights out. The TEs could be great receivers, they just ain't getting the ball thrown to them. The defense played better, but still a lot of missed tackles. Year 2 under DAnton Lynn should be better! Let's see how the extra bodies help for next year. Fight On Trojan family!
Jordan can’t be afraid to make mistakes.. I think he plays tight because of that…he’s a gunslinger, needs to play with that chip on his shoulder… Makai and Jakobi are 1 and 2 for sure need to be on the field at all times… I like what I saw from Jackson and definitely earned a chance to start next year… Off line looked good… no false starts, no holding calls… Justin and Tobias need to get stronger physically but the talent is there… O’Connor earned starting center job. Need an another TE now that Lake is done…Lyons is a good TE but would like somebody a Lil more explosive in the passing game. Def. Will be fine with what we have and what we brought in.. still would like to get another proven inside Lb. Good job Boys.. Love the content and assessment. Fight on ✌️
I love every player that throws on the Cardinal and Gold and at the same time I think Maiava has to improve DRASTICALLY this offseason to feel comfortable with him as QB1 next year
Our QBs have been turn over machines. I noticed Oregon, ND rent QBs for a year. They've worked out all the kinks and are more productive. I think that QB from Bama can use a new start out here.
I don't know. I thought the LSU game was a moment. Jaden just lost for the first 3 quarters like he didn't have clue. Then the light comes on and he was great. Next year is probably going to be up and down like that at the QB spot. But they have a better line, probably a better defense. Receivers are great. Jackson rocked. Coaches will need to be on their game. I like the O line. Killian did a good job and it looks like they now have a little depth at tackle. Need depth at center. What do you think of the LB room. People put Arnold down for some reason, but I think he'll be missed. He does come up with big hits at big moments. Did Marcellas play yesterday? I really want to see him on the field. You guys do a great job! Thanks.
The running backs WHO BOTH should have been out there playing all throughout the season...especially playing that power back role! Riley is a little bit SLOW 🤷🏽♂️...I am just saying!!!
I have a feeling they wanted to wait and see how Jayden did in the bowl game. After that game though I'm sure they'll get someone in the transfer even if it's someone to just compete with Maiava to push him to play better. Just my opinion though I'm no insider lol
Question marks after the game: QB1?, Why not Longstreet?, who will be our 3rd WR?, will we have anyone over 10+ sacks?, SS?, why do Conley and Celles get no play at CB? At full strength, can our line open up holes against OSU/ORE?
@@brianjacob8728 He had chances vs Notre Dame, Michtingan, Penn State and really every team we played. Remember we never got blown out. D-line and O-line will be much improved, and who knows perhaps riley's play calling and time management will shine.
Haven’t we learned not to rely on the bowl game performances for future team designations? Is it Riley and staff being lazy? Plus, we know we can’t rely on Riley to coach up his offense! Every single talent seems to regress, why is that?
Just get a proven gunslinger like Arizona's Noah Fifita (a local guy out of Servite HS) to compete with Jayden Maiava for next year's starting job. Husan Longstreet would be ready in 2026.
Im not a fan of Maiava. Hes a good player, but Riley can make any QB look 'good'. He is not an excellent QB. Riley needs a T5 QB in the county to compete. Riley doesnt make use of his legs and the dude stares down receivers like hes interviewing them for a job
But as a SC fan, we got fooled by Miller Moss bc of that Louisville game. As my emotions settled, bc Jayden had me shaking me head. So I can't be overly critical
Just glad that Ford came back to USC, always liked him.
thank you Roc boys always keeping real about this program
The Maiava skeptics were right. I don’t see how we can go into next year with him as our QB.
The whole team looks solid for next year aside from qb
Man he’s turnovers are a big issue usc needs to hit the portal and get a qb competition. Idk if Longstreet will be ready next year
We messed up not going for John Mateer

Too soon to say

If Quinn Ewers decides to stay at Texas and Arch Manning transfers to USC, it would be a seismic shift in college football dynamics! 😎

UT is not going to let that happen.
More than likely the other happens. Texas isn’t winning it all and sounds like Ewers time is done there
Would never happen. Ever. 😂
