    I’m out here in Syracuse Ny. Have to check out where this is. I fish Oswego and The Salmon river Pulaski for steelhead all winter and spring . Great fishing up here in CNY 👍

    I love this show! Tom is great, and we absolutely LOVE the Wilmington-Lake Placid-Ausable River area. Even if you don't like fly fishing, this area is full of magnificent scenery. The Keene Valley along the East Branch of the Ausable River is one of the Top 10 most beautiful drives in America, and it's only about 10 miles from here. Don't miss the chance to have a Michigan Dog at the Wilmington Dairy Bar

    You're the man Tom! I've fished my whole life but new to fly fishing and your videos have helped immensely! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.

    Fantastic river. I try to fish it at least once a year. Nicest brown Ive ever caught came out of there.

    I used to roller ski near Wilmington. Maybe I should bring my fishing rod with me next time I go. Amazing biking in that area.

    So appreciate the info and approach.I just dont understand with all of you well seasoned anglers that you dont go into more detail on releasing the fish properly.Please leave the fish in the net as you back out the barbless hook and allow it to revive itself without touching the fish.Turn the net and angle for the camera and a gentle tilt of the net for the release.Thankyou sir.

    Great video - although it seems to be a few years old judging by the gear :)

    Tom, I was just at my local Orvis outlet, and saw a 10' ft 3 at 4 piece clearwater combo. Do you happen to know if this combo is ideal for euro nymphing, or is it better suited for other forms of nymphing?

      @orvisguidetoflyfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, that would definitely work for euro nymphing. Have fun!

      @@orvisguidetoflyfishing I sure hope, Orvis rods are not normally in my budget, but I think I'll spring for it this time.

    Would stocked trout feed the same way as wild trout?

    • @maximiliansadchikov393
      @maximiliansadchikov393 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They feed the same, wild trout just eat different bugs

      After they figure out no more pellets are showing up, they start to. Instincts kick in.
