The fact that the "and YOU" at the end of the credits didn't show up is really sad. It's like because of your choices, all of humanity was killed and just the fact that it didn't showed up in the bad ending made me feel a scent of guilt... Very sad indeed but a very fine detail in the end.

We were the mysterious user in the space that is powerful enough to stop the wipeout.(Fourth wall break i guess?) So technically if we were not present, Humanity would most probably perish anyways... So in a way this bad ending is actually true right?!?!?! Because realistically, we dont actually exist in their universe at all.... so if we dont exist, we cant help them Sorry if i dont make sense just my personal opinion ^-^

I love the fact that in the credits, there's no "And You" after special thanks. Even you deactivate Vanessa but didn't response to PAFF (which lead to Neutral Ending), you'll get the same treatment like in the bad ending.
Come to think of it, let's just be straight. This might be considered the "true ending" as it's the closest to real-life situation. Remember Ivy once thought while talking with a Basicpedia in the Academy? "No, humans never cared about history in the first place. Or else, they wouldn't have repeated the same mistakes so many times..." Maybe that's the forecast and the warning for us all...
And even in the other endings, which humans are alive, they’re still using Ivy and the ancient technology secretly (according to the last scene). They really never learn from history. Jeez.

Well now we know that this was simply a false glimpse into what could’ve happened had we not intervened. With Vanessa’s new level 50 ending we realize we were the main character all along. The last remaining survivor of the Ender Virus and one of the most powerful beings in the OS Space. This ending is sad but pretty. It only makes us more appreciative of what we have.
Damn. The "true" ending indicates that they got "snapped" by Vanessa. Also thanks for the upload! I cannot play Cytus 2 at the moment, so I only rely mostly on TH-cam (you, specifically) that constantly (and rapidly) update on the story.

Is it only me who loves this ending more than the others. It shows that even if the people in the world dies its not the end since there's plants and maybe animals in the world.. the world continues on without humans. Also even if Vanessa goes into a deep slumber at least the most important thing to her is right beside her. I dunno i just love this ending.

This bad route is kinda cool and doesn't sugarcoat that everyone died. It is very eerie and impactful to say the least. However, I still prefer the good ending though.

I absolutely love this, especially comparing it to the good ending, since it's the end, the tragic and realistic path we chose ourselves. No matter how hard our team tried and kept hope even after the death of loved ones, it's us who determine what will eventually happen to them and the whole world. The good ending is extremely optimistic: everyone finds a place in life for themselves, everyone's healthy and does good for others just after 3 months after the main event. And you are thanked for that - without your actions none of that would have happened. But no one thanks you, if you do nothing, because it's only your fault and responsibility, you were the one that decided not to help people whose lifes you lived with them, always by their side, you saw everything: the moments of hope and despair, the heavy realizations and their determination to accept reality and move on. But you didn't care for them nor did you for Vanessa begging you to kill her and end it all. The only person who truly wanted to see what would happen is you. Because only getting good ending where they are finally happy didn't satisfy you? Because you just wanted to see the consequences of all possible actions and "get all of it"? After all it's not that selfish. You're the only one who has memories of what has actually happened. Just because somewhere in another dimension there's a universe where everyone is dead doesn't affect them at all; 10 more minutes and 2 clicks and all of them are alive, happy and clueless again. Only the credits' melody gives us company while their world is ending. The music itself is melancholic but not hopeless; at some points it's getting intense, but it remains calm, almost relaxing. There's nothing they can do now, there's no need to scream - only to accept. Either way there's no need to feel anything, you're here to play and you played, and you know that "true reality" isn't permanent. It's not like you're going to leave it like that after spending on them more than 35 dollars, right? But if we think about this reality, what truly are we left with? Reversion of this melody makes us long for the past, it reminds us of how although we can't return to the world we lived in, the world itself returns to its origin; the places people built and lived in are now lifeless with only small human things left laying around: a child's toy, books, photos, billets to a concert, a note left near a piece of food saying: "it's fine :)", and yet even without humanity the Earth still lives. Over the ruins of our civilization the are bright beams of sunlight shining, flowers, grass and plants, a quiet sound of rain somewhere can be heard. Even it's the end for us, it's not the end of the universe. Maybe it's only beginning for a new life and just the way we replaced dinosaurs something will replace us. And maybe it's not as bad as it sounds.

First off... the story is tailored incredibly good and i can't help but feel bad for Vanessa (either die or suffer alone facing your precious friend who was murdered in front of you, all after experiencing a hell of feeling the negative emotions throughout her lifespan........ :( r.i.p... [or maybe not, assuming robo data is eternal and can be rebuilt idk]) That aside it seems that if you don't click on PAFF's request the final statements of vanessa if you don't respond won't be ......。, instead PAFF and nora will have new lines which i entirely forgot and am not capable of tolerating a 4th mass killing scheme......(a tad lazy too) Anyways they didn't show the scene where ivy is hanged somewhere with a sh*tload of architects. That means there is still some trash which is still aiming for human annihalation. One more thing.. im not so sure about calling this the ''true'' ending. Yes it would be a true ending for the game's timeline where there shall not be a continuation, thus... the "true" end of story. However, i think the good ending not being labelled as ''true'' just means that the story will not end with how vague the ending conditions are... this is shown with how rayark doesn't include ''and you'' in the bad credits and not being able to load any characters, it's just unreasonable for the extreme buildup towards the climax to be thrown out the window with everyone dead at the end. Now that you say it… I’m pretty sure Rin was killed off by Nate’s squad before Last Countdown (the set of endings when you get Vanessa to level 25) began. However, if you see either the Neutral or Good endings, you see that Rin is indeed alive, so it confuses me on how she remained alive after being shut down by Nate. Violently.

In the good/neutral ending, it is said that Rin ended up living with Sagar, so there's a positive that Sagar might saved her in the good/neutral ending from getting killed. However, in the bad ending, Vanessa killed every human in the world. Maybe Sagar died much earlier than Nate's squad, which allows them to kill her before they eventually die. There's still a possibility where she might be alive, but her whereabouts is unknown.

Crystal Punk is more of a flashback selection that is actually made of two main characters. So I think there is no way to say that they "died" since they are a band. Same goes for Miku who perished before this happened.

Just finished this game in 26 days after months of only being able to listen to the soundtrack. Everything was an insane experience, no other rhythm game could pull something like this. The 4th wall break stuff was very personal to me and it's just awesome. Good job for everyone, especially the writers.

Same here, I experienced the same problem. Literally to play normally, we're forced to play the 10 minutes ending + plus unskippable credits which is gonna take more time
There are 2 other endings. Also there will be more content songs/capso added to cytus 2 in future updates. This is just the end of the story for now. ♡
@@genosootaku8649 insider info- one of the main story team did not want to renew his contract any longer. They're down to 2 people and the person who left was the main contributor and afaik had the rights to it. That's not to say the other 2 won't continue on but it's very doubtful. We should still get content updates but I highly doubt the story itself will continue anytime soon.
it is not a prequel. After the events of cytus 1 where the blessed were actual humans who uploaded their conciousness to cytus (we learned this in Cytus Alpha- and its widely speculated that is why they could break free from their protocols) as well as created the ender virus, ivy/vanessa/ilka and the OPCI were renamed "architects" by the humans that the original Vanessa spared and rebuilt humanity. What the ending does show us- just like ivy said herself in game- is that humanity doesn't learn from its mistakes and repeats them so the cycle continues.

Bad is the first ending, being what happen, but somehow along the lines something became an anomaly, able to change some of the events. The good ending could be the true ending by making the bad first, using all the information we got we are able to change the outcome, but... Then what the hell is main character? Maybe it is the TRUE Vanessa, the one from Cyrus 1.
It's been like 2 years, you may have noticed Crash difficulties being locked by then, maybe you figured out how to unlock them, I don't know... But one thing's sure, as long you didn't unlocked them, you won't have your answers. (Hint: Vanessa might hold the answers you need... Maybe if you keep finding these OS files...)

I'm still far from the endgame, probably an inch away from the start, but I'm gonna say I prefer this ending over the good one. I've seen too many happy endings in other stories, why not go the opposite way here? Definitely gonna pick this ending, even though I rarely play this game 'cause I got other games to play.

@@JF6182 The Canon ending is the bad ending according to speaking with ex staff. They needed to make a good and neutral ending around the time of Cytus Alpha release because they were looking at a switch port of 2 as well at the time. (This is also why it is labeled "true" ending in the game files! :D )

Yes. You are forced to by clicking Vanessa in the bad ending. Otherwise you go to the grey "replay cutscenes/look at CAPSO art" menu. Click Vanessa's folder and choose the last option and it will give you the choice to replay the final battle and get a different ending.
@@pengotoge currently there is a risk of getting stuck in a gameplay loop if you close the game on the bad ending. There is a hotfix in the works that should be released soon- so make sure to end on a good/neutral ending before closing!
Good question! Hopefully cover more Rayark or rhythm games. They also redid a lot of the cutscenes with voice lines now so I actually have a lot of OS re-recording to do... plus it's the end of story atm but not content! They still have more CAPSO and other new songs coming. :)

Bad ending forces you to replay, so it's good to do that one first or second. There isn't really a best way tbh... just make sure you check iM inbetween and the OS bc good and neutral give songs

No. Ender virus was created in Cytus 1 by the original human blessed who uploaded themselves to cytus and wanted to erase humanity. The "architects" are just the OPCI that rebuilt after the events of Cytus 1. The moral of this ending- just as Ivy even expressly said in the story- is that humanity never learns from their mistakes so the cycle repeats.

I've been trying to figure out, what the heck is Ender Virus? I keep searching in Chrome what is ender virus, the cytus 2 and 1 storyline are only showing up, but reading those did not give me an answer on what is Ender Virus, so what is it??? Is it like a cancer,infection, or plague? What is it???
It's a manmade nano machine that effects the body like a virus. It was being researched by ExtenLife Corp from the original cytus and ended up getting released- probably intentionally. (We actually learn this more concretely in Kizuna AI chapter of all things xD) It's speculated that this was done in order to sell more units and force people into the cytus program to upload their conciousness to make more money and/or use that money to create enlightened humans who could integrate with electronics for their own advantage. There was also a group of once-humans called the Blessed (Cytus Alpha) who wanted to erase humanity and become sort of an enlightened supreme race once uploaded to cytus. They also wanted the virus to spread and destroy humanity. (Sound familiar? *coughILKAcough*)
It is also what, in some humans who are semi-resistant to it- it integrates with their body and allows them to see cytus itself and access electronic data and things like Nora (and Aroma) can do.

Well now we know that this was simply a false glimpse into what could’ve happened had we not intervened. With Vanessa’s new level 50 ending we realize we were the main character all along. The last remaining survivor of the Ender Virus and one of the most powerful beings in the OS Space.
This ending is sad but pretty. It only makes us more appreciative of what we have.
Damn. The "true" ending indicates that they got "snapped" by Vanessa.

It shows that even if the people in the world dies its not the end since there's plants and maybe animals in the world.. the world continues on without humans. Also even if Vanessa goes into a deep slumber at least the most important thing to her is right beside her. I dunno i just love this ending.

I absolutely love this, especially comparing it to the good ending, since it's the end, the tragic and realistic path we chose ourselves. No matter how hard our team tried and kept hope even after the death of loved ones, it's us who determine what will eventually happen to them and the whole world.
The good ending is extremely optimistic: everyone finds a place in life for themselves, everyone's healthy and does good for others just after 3 months after the main event. And you are thanked for that - without your actions none of that would have happened. But no one thanks you, if you do nothing, because it's only your fault and responsibility, you were the one that decided not to help people whose lifes you lived with them, always by their side, you saw everything: the moments of hope and despair, the heavy realizations and their determination to accept reality and move on. But you didn't care for them nor did you for Vanessa begging you to kill her and end it all. The only person who truly wanted to see what would happen is you. Because only getting good ending where they are finally happy didn't satisfy you? Because you just wanted to see the consequences of all possible actions and "get all of it"? After all it's not that selfish. You're the only one who has memories of what has actually happened. Just because somewhere in another dimension there's a universe where everyone is dead doesn't affect them at all; 10 more minutes and 2 clicks and all of them are alive, happy and clueless again.
Only the credits' melody gives us company while their world is ending. The music itself is melancholic but not hopeless; at some points it's getting intense, but it remains calm, almost relaxing. There's nothing they can do now, there's no need to scream - only to accept. Either way there's no need to feel anything, you're here to play and you played, and you know that "true reality" isn't permanent. It's not like you're going to leave it like that after spending on them more than 35 dollars, right?
But if we think about this reality, what truly are we left with? Reversion of this melody makes us long for the past, it reminds us of how although we can't return to the world we lived in, the world itself returns to its origin; the places people built and lived in are now lifeless with only small human things left laying around: a child's toy, books, photos, billets to a concert, a note left near a piece of food saying: "it's fine :)", and yet even without humanity the Earth still lives. Over the ruins of our civilization the are bright beams of sunlight shining, flowers, grass and plants, a quiet sound of rain somewhere can be heard. Even it's the end for us, it's not the end of the universe. Maybe it's only beginning for a new life and just the way we replaced dinosaurs something will replace us.
And maybe it's not as bad as it sounds.

First off... the story is tailored incredibly good and i can't help but feel bad for Vanessa (either die or suffer alone facing your precious friend who was murdered in front of you, all after experiencing a hell of feeling the negative emotions throughout her lifespan........ :( r.i.p... [or maybe not, assuming robo data is eternal and can be rebuilt idk])
That aside it seems that if you don't click on PAFF's request the final statements of vanessa if you don't respond won't be ......。, instead PAFF and nora will have new lines which i entirely forgot and am not capable of tolerating a 4th mass killing scheme......(a tad lazy too)
Anyways they didn't show the scene where ivy is hanged somewhere with a sh*tload of architects. That means there is still some trash which is still aiming for human annihalation.
One more thing.. im not so sure about calling this the ''true'' ending. Yes it would be a true ending for the game's timeline where there shall not be a continuation, thus... the "true" end of story. However, i think the good ending not being labelled as ''true'' just means that the story will not end with how vague the ending conditions are... this is shown with how rayark doesn't include ''and you'' in the bad credits and not being able to load any characters, it's just unreasonable for the extreme buildup towards the climax to be thrown out the window with everyone dead at the end.

@infinity.yt17 This make sense. In the good/neutral ending, it is said that Rin ended up living with Sagar, so there's a positive that Sagar might saved her in the good/neutral ending from getting killed.
However, in the bad ending, Vanessa killed every human in the world. Maybe Sagar died much earlier than Nate's squad, which allows them to kill her before they eventually die. There's still a possibility where she might be alive, but her whereabouts is unknown.

I found it interesting that Crystal Punk didn't get a bad ending song menu in here. Also, my God, this is depressing to look at.
Crystal Punk is more of a flashback selection that is actually made of two main characters. So I think there is no way to say that they "died" since they are a band. Same goes for Miku who perished before this happened.

Just finished this game in 26 days after months of only being able to listen to the soundtrack. Everything was an insane experience, no other rhythm game could pull something like this.

They're down to 2 people and the person who left was the main contributor and afaik had the rights to it. That's not to say the other 2 won't continue on but it's very doubtful. We should still get content updates but I highly doubt the story itself will continue anytime soon.

it is not a prequel. After the events of cytus 1 where the blessed were actual humans who uploaded their conciousness to cytus (we learned this in Cytus Alpha- and its widely speculated that is why they could break free from their protocols) as well as created the ender virus, ivy/vanessa/ilka and the OPCI were renamed "architects" by the humans that the original Vanessa spared and rebuilt humanity. What the ending does show us- just like ivy said herself in game- is that humanity doesn't learn from its mistakes and repeats them so the cycle continues.

Bad is the first ending, being what happen, but somehow along the lines something became an anomaly, able to change some of the events. The good ending could be the true ending by making the bad first, using all the information we got we are able to change the outcome, but... Then what the hell is main character? Maybe it is the TRUE Vanessa, the one from Cyrus 1.
It's been like 2 years, you may have noticed Crash difficulties being locked by then, maybe you figured out how to unlock them, I don't know...
But one thing's sure, as long you didn't unlocked them, you won't have your answers.

@@JF6182 The Canon ending is the bad ending according to speaking with ex staff. They needed to make a good and neutral ending around the time of Cytus Alpha release because they were looking at a switch port of 2 as well at the time.
(This is also why it is labeled "true" ending in the game files! :D )

Can you replay and get other endings?
Yes. You are forced to by clicking Vanessa in the bad ending. Otherwise you go to the grey "replay cutscenes/look at CAPSO art" menu. Click Vanessa's folder and choose the last option and it will give you the choice to replay the final battle and get a different ending.

@@pengotoge currently there is a risk of getting stuck in a gameplay loop if you close the game on the bad ending. There is a hotfix in the works that should be released soon- so make sure to end on a good/neutral ending before closing!

No. Ender virus was created in Cytus 1 by the original human blessed who uploaded themselves to cytus and wanted to erase humanity.
The "architects" are just the OPCI that rebuilt after the events of Cytus 1. The moral of this ending- just as Ivy even expressly said in the story- is that humanity never learns from their mistakes so the cycle repeats.

I've been trying to figure out, what the heck is Ender Virus? I keep searching in Chrome what is ender virus, the cytus 2 and 1 storyline are only showing up, but reading those did not give me an answer on what is Ender Virus, so what is it??? Is it like a cancer,infection, or plague? What is it???
It's a manmade nano machine that effects the body like a virus. It was being researched by ExtenLife Corp from the original cytus and ended up getting released- probably intentionally. (We actually learn this more concretely in Kizuna AI chapter of all things xD) It's speculated that this was done in order to sell more units and force people into the cytus program to upload their conciousness to make more money and/or use that money to create enlightened humans who could integrate with electronics for their own advantage. There was also a group of once-humans called the Blessed (Cytus Alpha) who wanted to erase humanity and become sort of an enlightened supreme race once uploaded to cytus. They also wanted the virus to spread and destroy humanity. (Sound familiar? *coughILKAcough*)
It is also what, in some humans who are semi-resistant to it- it integrates with their body and allows them to see cytus itself and access electronic data and things like Nora (and Aroma) can do.
