When I heard this song in technically the first cutscene, I knew this game was going to be purely epic. I can still hear piccolo and goku feet dropping on the grass and goku saying "give me back my son right now"
Honestly, the Gamecube version with the cel shading holds up really damn well. Some of the models and animations are a little rough around the edges, but compared to DBZ Kakarot which is mostly just characters standing around statically with text boxes, the presentation in this game was incredible.
I remember this playing before a mission with a picture of half of your characters face and a big bar with sliding words telling their thoughts before the fight. Anyone know how the fuck I beat this when I was 4 but now its hard as ass to beat?
I don't know if Kenji Yamamoto had a live orchestra at his disposal, or if he just had a REALLY damn good sample bank, but this shit is top-notch for a game in 2001(?).

Ngl I was kinda stuck on the level when Goku was training for Namek. I’ve lost count how many times I took an L, but at least I could say that was my _training_ for the fights to come.
They've already remastered this and Budokai 3 for PS3/360 with horrible music replacements. If by some miracle these games were ported to next gen, these tracks wouldn't be included sadly.
