I can't lie I like it that all these youngstas are from 2k15 are in here feeling this shit. The ones who come are the ones who got good taste in music.
Okay Set it off may be the one rap song that is truly the one. 1984, 10 years old white kid. At a youth center learning about culture and break dancing. Made my mom get me Shell Toe Adidas, and went and bought fat laces. All the kids taught me moves. I am 49 now and this is the one that will always bring me back. No matter what. Only others were Jam on it, White line Highway, and planet rock. I will forever be grateful for the mark these songs have made on my soul.
This song almost always guaranteed a packed dance floor with everyone...and I mean EVERYONE...grooving hard to this jam. People would stop in the middle of a conversation just to run out on the dance floor. Block parties all over NYC, boom boxes blaring at basketball courts, and cars rolling to the local clubs would play this classic. Little did we know that we would have by far the best music to mingle with. Miss those days so much.
the best jam ever..walk into a club and this song goes on its like a sunami of people just scream oooooohhhhhhhh yea and dance there way to the dance floor
I have to definitely agree and if anybody ever wanted me to dance sneak up in their set it off and you'll see what danceing is all about Best Song Ever
@@BlockBallerRecords If u have it? Post it. If true, or until I hear it, I'm a lean on he was inspired by. My reason- all his songs are some kind of similar: unique, proving his creative level way high
I saw him at a club back in the day. It was him and his manager , and he was signing autographs. I think the club was called Bacchus. This is a timeless set, goes with anything everywhere.
Once this starts playing blacks folks stop what they are doing and start doing the electric slide. LoL At least that's how it was for us in the early 90's.
Rick Rubin and Pharrell sent me here. You know what’s cool. Being a 40 year old man from New Zealand having no memory of this song but reading all your comments from around the world, namely America referencing your memories of growing up with this song in your lives, it’s so cool. Some of you talking about boomboxes in nyc, Florida, names of night clubs, parents stereos etc, parties. Song playing in the background as i read the comments, felt like I just jumped in a time machine sharing memories from around the world from another time. Thank you 🙏🏻
Awesome. One of the best classic tunes of all time. I don't know why but though the song is from 1984, I first heard the song in 1989 because it was getting played a lot becoming popular. Hail Strafe.

@Thrillcekr Strafes SET IT OFF is an underground phenomenon still flying below the radar of the GWB Committee. Being on a small, independent label is the difference. Many early uses were unauthorized; with litigation still pending. It is the most sampled tune of all time. Thanks 4 the comment!

If all else fails at the party, break this out and you have eight minutes to get your shit together. There's no probably; this is the greatest, most sampled, most emulated dance track in history.
