Okay Set it off may be the one rap song that is truly the one. 1984, 10 years old white kid. At a youth center learning about culture and break dancing. Made my mom get me Shell Toe Adidas, and went and bought fat laces. All the kids taught me moves. I am 49 now and this is the one that will always bring me back. No matter what. Only others were Jam on it, White line Highway, and planet rock. I will forever be grateful for the mark these songs have made on my soul.

Block parties all over NYC, boom boxes blaring at basketball courts, and cars rolling to the local clubs would play this classic. Little did we know that we would have by far the best music to mingle with. Miss those days so much.

I saw him at a club back in the day. It was him and his manager , and he was signing autographs. I think the club was called Bacchus. This is a timeless set, goes with anything everywhere.
My aunt used to tell me a story about how she used to tear up the clubs when she was younger and she refused to go out on the dance floor until the DJ played this song.
