I think his success allowed a lot of the American GMs and scouts to view Wemby’s performance in a better light

I think nick forgets what his Slovenian son once said. Scoring more points as an individual player is easier in the NBA compared to Europe because the rules are more catered to offense. Luka himself proved it by elevating his points average by around 10 points in his first couple of years. So I’d expect wemby to maybe even average around 24 points in this year
I feel Nicks frustration. He is saying Wemby has potential to be amazing, but the expectations immediately coming into the league are too high and unfair. Definitely should have drafted Scoot no idea what MJ was doing with his last act as GM. The value he could have gotten from a Scoot trade mid season would be much higher than the value of Miller. I think nick forgets what his Slovenian son once said. Scoring more points as an individual player is easier in the NBA compared to Europe because the rules are more catered to offense. Luka himself proved it by elevating his points average by around 10 points in his first couple of years. So I’d expect wemby to maybe even average around 24 points in this year

I feel Nicks frustration. He is saying Wemby has potential to be amazing, but the expectations immediately coming into the league are too high and unfair. Because if he isn’t an mvp or candidate by year 3 people are going to destroy him because of the expectations. A guy can have great potential and take some time to get going. Isn’t there also massive concern about his health with the height. We’ve seen more 1st picks in sports bust then ever come close to living up to the expectations. Crazy we do this story every year in sports.

Nick might be wrong on this one. Victor's gonna have more space in NBA. His FG% in the NBA is gonna increase just from the space alone. Then you have how defenses in Europe are more physical and team oriented. Then you have European games are 40 minutes long not 48 in the NBA. Victor is gonna get 23+ ppg easy. Nick is gonna change his mind by week 3 of the regular season.
They also play way less games. Going from 34 to 82 will be difficult. His averages will lower purely because of initial fatigue.

Definitely should have drafted Scoot no idea what MJ was doing with his last act as GM. The value he could have gotten from a Scoot trade mid season would be much higher than the value of Miller. Not every draft pick has to be about immediate team fit, especially when you team is a long ways off from being competitive. It's been an absolute amature-hour of ownership from Jordan and as a hornets fan I could not be happier to see him leave.
So take a point guard who is athletic but can't shoot when there is a 6-8" athletic wing who can and you already have your starting PG?... You obviously don't know basketball... I’m with Chris on the Charlotte thing. The Suns tried the multiple point guard thing when they had guys like Eric Bledsoe Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas. Eventually players have to actually play on the court with each other and fit matters.

I don’t think the media emphasized his poor shooting enough pre-draft. Cause 27% from three is almost “don’t shoot” or “leave him open” territory. It can improve for sure though.
The form on Wemby's shot is very good. The advantage is the Spurs have the ability to make his shot much better percentage wise. In the past they took a poor shooter out of college named Kawhi Leonard and turned him into an excellent shooter. May take more than a year though.
That's why scouts look at free throw percentage when looking at prospects. He shot over 80%
