Used to ride with those guys when they would show up for the Boulder Bus Stop ride. Ride out to Lyons on 36 and do a mountain loop (that is when they put the training hammer down). We would usually all get together and ride back to Boulder. Davis, Andy, Roy, Jeff, Ron (Kiefel lived near us)...oh yea and Eric Hieden sometimes when he wasn't busy breaking campy crank arms practicing sprints lol. Yes, it happened I was there. Tell him i used to wear neon-colored zinc oxide sunscreen under my eyes like war paint for awhile, mainly because there were photos of him wearing it in a Tour de France special edition magazine I bought. I don't think I was the only one! I think a lot of the other juniors I was racing with were doing it to. Those were the days! Good luck with your cycling.
