Been really looking forward to this seeing this since you talked about it on the podcast and it definitely didn't disappoint! Really clever solution to not having a welder - both cheap and effective - and the cracked edge of the concrete looks amazing! I love the tactility and intricacy it brings which contrasts with the rest of the design, and although I see where others are coming from re. the open space with a coffee table I personally don't think you ever really need to use the full surface as the edges are plenty for mugs, books etc :)

It would be great if you feel the gap in the middle with transparent epoxy, that way you have the visual result you want and at the same time it's functional.

I’d like to see someone else do it!! I really like the idea of being able to touch the live edge. Plus there’s about 12” of usable space on each side which is plenty of room for cups, plates, or magezines

@@sjandu If you really want it secure you could drill a couple little holes into the underside of the concrete (don't go all the way through) and anchor a coil rod into the concrete using a two part anchor epoxy, then weld or bolt the coil rod to the base. Regarding the no weld method, why does nobody use pop rivets these days? They are a really low tech solution and can look great. Just a thought.

A terrible makeshift. The angles should be welded, or at least bolted to screws. The table top could have an epoxy resin inside or a piece of wood embedded in the concrete. It would look great. And of course, the top should be screwed to the stand, and felt or rubber pads attached to the bottom. If you are do something, do it properly.

Always wondered if brackets epoxied in place would work, always intended to find out. Great video, thanks!
