"While much is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened." --Thomas Hardy
"People are strange, when you're a stranger." -- Jim Morrison
So truly said by Thomas Hardy
@@CarpeNutella Yes...and women seem wicked, when you're unwanted...also Jim Morrison. Love your screen name.
There’s another channel on TH-cam that the story is really close and some of the wording is exact. I don’t think it’s fair that other channels use other peoples work very disappointing to see a channel like this do this. I know the other channel did it first because I’ve seen it a time ago. Other channels that borrow should really reference their material first.
The modern day actor, Thomas Hardy, makes an appearance at 23:12!! On the far right. It's quite fitting considering this quote, imo.
Oh yay I’m going to fall asleep so peacefully and have really great weird dreams with this as my background noise! Love these videos!! My therapist always chuckles when I say I solved my insomnia with British narrated history or true crime videos. Who needs ambien with this voice? 😊
😂 It's not as weird as it was a few years ago. Welcome friend!
He has a wonderfully relaxing voice.
That's my plan !
Hannah’s fears were totally justified, even in the late 1990s a woman narrowly escaped being buried alive and l am sure it still happens. Aimee was able to live how she chose because of being rich and able to do whatever she wanted to, she was extremely wise to have rejected Aleister Crowley’s proposals.
Another excellent podcast. You are a very talented journalist.
Wow. The Leatherman story. To leave such a legacy and impact
I know this isn't really your thing, but I wonder if there's anything from this era that would allude to alien abduction. The only reason I ask is there was a case in China or Japan (I seen it on Mr Ballen) that does. England and France have had a long history with ufos. I just can't imagine in the 18th century it would have been talked about 🤔 I'd still be curious though. Either way, I love these videos. Thank you ❤❤❤😊.
Will look into it, thanks 😊
Wow! 3 days in Boston including room and board, plus train to and from New York on $13. Good girl! She was before her time. 😊
Oh now come on! That's impossible, & not nearly enough money!! She had $14, Lol!😅
Hi!!! I really enjoyed all the stories you told us today. I have heard the first one before but not the rest. Very interesting. Thank You for these stories. Great Video!!!...Your fan&friend from USA...🇺🇸🦋
Another delightful offering! Always fascinating, with exquisite narration by you and your cohort.
Thank you kindly!
If you're looking for an odd story to run around the time of the US election, you could do worse than look at the life of Edward Hyde, Lord Cornbury and Earl of Clarendon, who was a most unusual governor of the colony of New York in 1702.
If they're in the mood for laughing, I'm sure your American viewers will thoroughly enjoy deciding whether the US has improved/declined over the years 😀
Thanks very much for the suggestion, I will look into it!!
I thought this was one of the best videos ever. When you have time I'd like t o hear more stories. Thanks
Glad you thought so, more to come!
My own daughter did her own little "Adele", when she was 13; and she was found again, 4 days later, safe and sound near the Reeperbahn, in Hamburg. I had the police pick her up, and hold her until a local friend came for her (I was 600 KM away). I ended up feeling so proud of my girl's resourcefulness, despite her aging me about 20 years; and boy did she have a totally sensible travel tale to tell! I can sympathize with her parents, and I feel quite proud of Adele too! Here's to self-sufficient young ladies!
I'm glad your daughter was found safe. So many bad things could have happened to her, no matter how resourceful she was.
Wonderful, another hour of your fantastic content 😊
I should save this until I need to relax and go to sleep but I can't waaaaaait. 😊 Thanks for your interesting history lessons and soothing voice.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Aimee was cool as hell.
Thanks 😊 That was great!
Glad you liked it!
That first story! Adele was a rebel without a cause! Love it
WITH a cause, I’d say.
Wonderful stories! I wonder, could you share who the mummy waa tgat you showed repeatedly? Was it from a reinactment of the Manchester Mummy or someone else? Thanks for the great videos!
The one in the glass is a sculpture or doll type replica of her in a museum!
❤❤❤❤just ❤❤❤❤
Go Aimée Go🎉...
Awesome! One hour of history with your great narration. I will enjoy it before i fall asleep 😊 Thank you FLives, love it already
Enjoy!

Every time I hear about premature burial, I can't help but wonder how many people suffocated in the coffin without waking or woke but couldn't get out
I wish you were around when I homeschooled my children 18 years ago.
I believe that the first 3 and last stories are of people living life on THEIR terms, when it wasn't socially acceptable. Hence, the moniker of " eccentric" applied. 😊
Wow, very entertaining and interesting. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!!
I really enjoy listening to these tales of people's lives. You're a great storyteller!!!
Thanks 😊
The story in our family is my Great, Great Great Aunt, had a heart attack ,the doctor came to the house and pronounced her dead. Coming from a black Irish Family the women of the family would put her on the kitchen table and prepaid her body, bathing and dressing her. When her sister was putting her hose on. My great x Iii aunt, yelled be careful
That is my sore Toe ! That musta been a great Wake!
This is exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks for another superb upload
Cool! I'm glad I caught your video!
Thanks for coming!
❤❤❤
Aimee Crocker.Fascinating woman! The best quote was' She treated monogamy as a Theory'! Lived life to the full, it seems.
Her husband had to go home to recuperate from their
vacations
Nico, I love your work.
On the premature burials, this is silly old folklore. The topic created interest in those early papers.
As a physician, those people knew when life ended. None of those conditions that were mentioned even remotely look like death.
When the old clock stops ticking, it is clear. Your hand is a fine thermometer. Especially in chilly old England (that you know well) , 98.6 feels very different than 70 (even at the 30th parallel south where I live).
Your point?!?
@@4fNReal- So young yet already being snide rather than thinking. So sad.
Sometimes you can make it up.
I remember reading an article about Spring Heeled Jack many years ago where the author, who lived at the time, claimed Jack was actually a woman who worked as a performer in a traveling entourage. She performed acrobatics and produced flames by expelling alcohol from her mouth on to a lit candle or some other type of flame. Also the nine foot wall she was claimed to have leapt over was actually a three foot gate located in the wall. She was "mentally unbalanced" and had to be watched over by her traveling troupe, as she was constantly getting into trouble. She disliked upper class women or anyone who seemed wealthy. Maybe just another theory, but who knows?
I was so terrified of premature burial as a child in the US that my mother after patiently trying everything else she could think of explained modern embalming to me. She was sure I'd have a new fear but at that point I'd been so stressed for months I happily went off to play. I still can't watch movies/shows that depict it.

Stay awesome! As Mortis Media always say
😄🤗💙🌻 Edit: I took almost 10 minutes to write here for you, It is because of my left eye, need to do slowly; and my reply became a long one! 😀 Sorry!
Any was selfish, and self-indulgent. She not a great example for your average woman.
The Leatherman story is sad.😢
Aimee lived an interesting life. We could all do the same, if only we had the millions of dollars that she had.
Oh, to have been Aimee Crocker. What an exciting life she led!
I really did like and very much enjoyed these stories & legends, as I find them all very inspiring. I think that the very best was saved for last. In fact, I have a theory of mine own, regarding “The Leatherman”.
My Theory is based on this passage from The Holy Bible.
“Do not be afraid to entertain strangers, for you may be entertaining, an Angel in Disguise”. The Holy Bible
Perhaps, that’s what or rather who, The Leatherman was, An Angel in Disguise.
Perhaps it was The Lord God’s way of proving “Who were of both, of a kindness of heart & generosity of spirit, to care enough for a poor, lonely & wandering stranger??? And who, when he died, cared enough and was willing to make an effort, to give him both, proper & decent burial.
That’s the very best explanation, that I can come up with. And who knows? It might very well be true.
They were all wonderful & marvelous Legends and stories. Your doing wonderfully, please keep up the Good Work.

Thanks for your kind words!
She might have had a good life while here , but probably not in the afterlife
What a treat 😊 Thankyou x
❤ Love your show! 😍
I enjoyed this video so much that I subscribed!
Aimee Crocker! Now there's someone I wish I'd met!
Really good! Also, fun to hear from Mort!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How crazy the bells! If you did ring it there is no way you could stay alive long enough to be dug up from 6 ft under!
That physician made a pretty sweeping, unverifiable estimate of so many people being buried alive. I know they often held up a mirror to a person's nose to see if it fogged, suggesting he was still breathing. But for someone to be so unconscious that he appears dead would lead to a rapid suffocation if he was consigned to the grave. There's no way to verify if someone has been buried alive w/o digging up the body. I have heard tales of them doing so & finding claw marks on the inside of the coffin, but that might be apocryphal. Let's hope so. 😮
I got lost for a minute after the Mary Crocker story, when you turned into Mort 🤔😃! The volume difference caught me and of course I didn't hear you say anything about it. Your both very good at your jobs here, keep it up! His channel is how I found your channel.
I never thought anyone could make the title of kill bill sound so classy 😀 i loved that bit 👍👍👍.
Glad you thought so!
Really enjoyed this, thanks! Strange but true (i hope). Amiee's hubby really needed a vacay from his vacay, didn't he, teehee 🤭 I know some of those old photos & videos wern't actually associated with each account, but they sure were interesting to see, nonetheless!
My grandmother was born in 1926, when she was 14 she was real sick. Her family had made a pine box and was planning a funeral. Her 18 yr old brother saw she was sweating and knew dead didn't sweat. He sat by her bed whipping her head with a shot gun saying he'd shoot anyone trying to put his sister in the ground.
I'm thankful to my great uncle because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. My grandmother said she had brain fever, I'm not sure what that is. I always thought she was in a coma.
Where was the Leatherman corpse found? Did I miss that part.
I don't think that was mentioned. It would be good to know how and where it was found, and how long it was missing for.
Thank you. Enjoyed.
So glad!
New Zealand , then Australia, and the UK, were swept by waves of hundreds of "airship" sightings in 1909 when Adele disappeared. Conspiracy theorists would conclude there was a connection ... wassocks.
Thank you for these tales of history. Your narration is stellar.
Thanks for listening!!
I grew up in Thomaston, CT, right next to Waterbury, and I was always fascinated by the Leatherman as he was a big deal within the history of my town. Thanks for the section on him, it was so interesting!
❤😊❤
Saw a man sit up in hospital after being declared dead. He had been on a heart monitor prior to "dying," pretty sure he was not resurrected
