Truly I’m not usually one for such flights of fancy as this, but it almost felt like Dartmoor was saying goodbye, with the best parting gift you could have asked for. Beautiful paintings (and no doubt your camera was with you too).
There is always something about your videos that brings happy tears to my eyes. The combination of the music, the peacefulness, your devotion to Jack (and vice-versa), being transfixed by your painting and drawing - I find it all extremely moving. Like others have mentioned in the comments, my thought while watching was that your beloved Dartmoor was saying, “Farewell, Katie. Come back and see us some time” in the form of those red mushrooms and the curious cow. 💚
Your outfit on your walk reminds me of Max from Where the Wild Things Are, that's a compliment. One of my many books from childhood that I remember reading and looking at the pictures all the time. Always a treat to see your videos.
Hi Katie, I hope you're all well xx ❣️ I love tagging along with you and Jack, even if its virtually. Your Art Work is beautiful, thankyou so much for sharing this. I think we've all imagined Toadstools to be red with white dots on them, so to actually see them is truly magical. I'm sure you'll find some beautiful places in Wales for your walks and painting. Thankyou for sharing Dartmoor its been amazing. Take care and stay safe Lots of love and Big Hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️🫂🫂🫂🐕
What you said about the timer and a daily practice is the same thing for me. I too struggle with perfect, and this has been a great thing for me to include. You will love Wales. Magical.
I have enjoyed your videos of Dartmoor so much, I look forward to exploring the beauty of your new home in Wales. So much new woodland flora to paint! Great things ahead!
This video was absolutely lovely and so inspirational to us painters who struggle and admire your talent so much! The musical accompaniment was quite beautiful and perfect for this magical episode! Good luck with moving Katie and although we shall miss Dartmoor as well, new vistas await us! Take care and extra kiss for Jack x
Hello Katie and Jack! Thank you so much for this episode. I really enjoy your podcast. I appreciate so much how you share the self-care that you do. What you do is healthy and can be life-changing in a very positive way. It is very helpful to see it in action especially during crazy times like we have been living in this past couple of years. I hope that your move goes smoothly. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With warm affection and kindness, Stephanie from California
Plein air painting is such an immersive experience. I find myself becoming part of the surroundings. The difficult thing for me is the ever changing light! Have you ever tried transparent watercolors? Time seems to disappear when you are engaged in painting. Your work is lovely. Hopefully the joy of your first locale will be carried in your heart and mind’s eye- to be used as a reference in your new location. I call it my reference “library”. Many good thoughts and wishes.
Janice, I wholeheartedly recommend you just give it a go, with a proise not to judge yourself. If your intention is to move some lines and colours around and have fun, the learning and confidence will come automatically, I promise.
Hi Katie, I have admired your podcast for some time now. I love the woods so appreciate the gentle videos. I admire your knitting although I don't knit. Do you ever do any crochet patterns? I love the natural look and would love doing something like that in crochet. I am still searching for those kind of patterns. Moving can be stressful but I find it enjoyable. Take moments during the hectic times to stop and realize what new adventures lie ahead. Greetings from The Netherlands Heidi
Hi Heidi, thank you for your lovely comments. While I can crochet, I do not know the craft well enough to write patterns. I wouldn't rule it out ever, creativity takes us in all kinds of directions, but right now my skills are not up to the task and I'm sorry!
Hi Katie, What a lovely podcast! I love the green garter stitch cardinan/pullover you are wearing to the green skirt. Is there an episode where you tell more about it?
@@KatieGreenBean thank you! Take the opportunity to say how happy to have found your pods, patterns and haberdashery goodies. Reading the fascinating Gathering Moss now. Thank you for sharing all inspiration and insights 🥰
So meditative. Knitting , looking and listen to your video was so calmful🙏. What paint do you use? Watercolour, gouache or avrylic? Lovely paintings! Love from me in Sweden.🇸🇪😊

Pure magic, indeed! May your adventures be such in Brecon Beacons. Wishing you well, Katie 💚💫🍁✨

I had that same exact thought 🥰
I used to live on the edge of Dartmoor. I could almost smell the damp greeness of the woods in your video.
Thank you for charing this special moment 🥰🥰🥰🥰😙✨✨✨✨✨

Thank you. Enjoy your new home. And thank you for the badge and stickers. (I've always been a sucker for autumn, and extravagant fungi in particular).
Your art work is so beautiful being in the hand & eyes of an artist ❤

Oh wow! I'd seen photos of fly agaric before, but never translated the size!
This was so inspirational and a reminder to be in the moment. Thank you, Katie.
