They really are, I was blown away by how good my '24 F350 Platinum rides. It's honestly like 70% as good as my Ram 1500 was (as in only like 50% as good on rough roads but like 90% as good on smooth highways). And the seats are by far the most comfortable I've ever had in a vehicle.
I have a 2023 super duty. It’s got great seats, wonderful tech and plenty of room but it’s also stiff as rocks. He also starts explaining the comfort factors around the 8 min mark.
if you watched the video, then you should know that the truck is big for the city. Yah, drives nice on the open road. But, once in the city... they are difficult to use. Parking these huge trucks is problematic at best.
I have a 2024 Limited and love it. I got it to replace my Nissan Titan to tow my new toy hauler that weighs in at 9,000. The Nissan struggled but towed it. This truck tows it without a hitch. It stays in 10 gear on the highway. Loads of torque if you need to pass. The interior is just insane. The sound system with Alexa is off the chain. At my age I will never need another truck.
Mine is similar, I was driving a 2020 Raptor and my wife decided we needed an RV. My Raptor was that sacrificial lamb. I traded it in on a 2024 F350 SRW 6.7 HO Platnium Tremor, I really wanted the off road parts even though they will rarely be used. The RV is a 2024 Brinkley 3610, loaded up it’s 18k pounds. I weighed at the truck stop and while the truck can tow 22k-23k pounds the GVWR, GAWR, and payload of 3,686 are all maxing out within 100 pounds. We live in Dallas, TX and have been on a few trips one of them to Ruidoso, New Mexico for a ski trip. The truck performed amazing even in the mountains. I will for sure have this thing for a long time. I wish it had the wide track F450 turning radius.
Thanks for the video. To the point with no fluff. I use a 1lb wrist weight for my 150 lane keep. It works like a damn with just enough pressure to drive itself on more straight roads.
i round up 20 miles per gallon sounds good for a truck that size, what would be interesting if it had the 7.3 godzilla and you did the same trip what you would get .
I have a 2024 F350 SRW 6.7HO Platinum Tremor. LOVE this truck! The lane centering and adaptive cruise control are great. It does take a minute to get use to the tug on the wheel. GM does have a better highway autonomous driving system.
Great video. I have a 2024 f 350 XLT with the standard power stroke cooking. I agree the price is way too much but I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon which is why I bought now rather than waiting. Appreciate the reviews
Going from San Diego to Sacramento and back this weekend in my F350 with the 7.3 myself. Total miles a bit over 1000 and I’ll be hauling a 28 foot enclosed trailer on the way back.
Would be interested in knowing you mpg. My '23 with the 7.3 @ 62 mph avg ~ 14.5 mpg. I experimented and drove 58 mph and avg 16.6 mpg. This is on a 29 mile run to work and 29 back home. Mixed driving around 25% city/slowing and stopping at stop signs. I live in a small town and drive to a larger city and go thru a very small town. I was amazed that slowing down 4 mph would net me that much of an improvement. And yes, it is hand calculated.
I chuckled the other day seeing one of these. It had the bedside step, but also beneath it was the optional retractable step. Almost like trucks are getting so tall that OEMs are making literal ladders to get access to the bed.
Also 6’5” and have a 24’ F250. Also thought this truck seems big.. I love the ground clearance but it definitely requires a few Austin Powers moments when trying to fit into “tight” spots
I bet it is comfortable, quiet inside, surprisingly good on gas given its size, weight and power, and overall as pleasant an experience as $125k plus taxes can buy. The only downside is likely urban parking. I would guess that if you can afford this truck, almost no practical consideration, like the price of fuel or insurance, will matter. Great video. Cheers gents.
I love that you have the sunscreen open on the roof and a hat on to block the sun. I have no use for lane keep, adaptive cruise, or the massaging seats. The long runs wouldn't matter, since my bladder needs empties every couple hundred miles. It wouldn't be a problem fueling up.
I totally agree on the lane assist. I end up fighting it when passing vehicles and trying to get better visibility on more twisty roads. I used it twice on my F150 and haven't used it again.
Barrie, Ontario! I’ve been there. I’m originally from Monroe, MI. Every once in a while, my wife’s uncle’s in-laws would drive from Tallahassee, FL to their home town of Barrie, ON, passing right through Monroe on I-75. In 1991, we visited them in Barrie. I remember the black flies . . .
I agree. I don’t use my lane keep assist because it’s always fighting against me. Sometimes I try to avoid things like debris and potholes, but it tries to redirect me right towards them. I’m fine without it.
My F250 Platinum is an excellent road trip vehicle, assuming you don't have to park in a garage. Vertical clearance even with a stock truck can be tricky. The long wheelbase version you have may be a little more difficult to maneuver but otherwise they should be great to drive.
I dont use all the safety features as far as cruise goes because of what you stated. All those features actually make it in my opinion not safe as im constantly fighting the wheel. Call me old fashioned but normal cruise is all i need on my F150.
I don't like the Lane Keep Assist either... I use it when its late at night just to be safe but I barely use it. Where I live you have yo drive on top of the line a lot
Great fuel mileage on such a large/heavy truck. It would be interesting to do the same road trip with a gasser. Yes, it would lower, but it is still interesting to know what the result is.
Well, thats a TRIPLE BLUE and I love it, specifically the very elegant seats in blue. And before I forget, is there any other ICE vehicle giving 500 horses, enormous capability and almost 20mpg? Thanks Steve, my best regards to the family.
I feel the lane centering feature on this truck hugs the yellow line, which is the opposite side I would think you would want to, and the pop up message every 15 seconds to put my hands on the wheel, when… they are… is super annoying. It also almost mutes the radio. I have found a couple of places where it consistently errors out and jerks hard toward the ditch, which I have to fight to take over. It’s a no go for me. Sure sad with spending that much for technology, and having to turn off a major feature.
Didn’t watch this only looked at the cli&kbait title but why on earth would an HD road trip be a bad idea. I got my HD Duramax for that exact reason. Best vehicle for road-trip. I put 35,000 miles in it the first year.
My Subaru’s lane keep assist tends to like to hug the yellow line too. I do have a question. Would the non high output 6.7 get better mileage? What about 250 vs 350 SRW? I’m about to order a F-350 lariat ultimate with the 8’ box with the normal 6.7. Thank you.
Anyone thats wants one of these Granger Ford will sell to anyone for dealer invoice minus 2%. Picked up my fully loaded tremor F350 HO Platty for 96. The lane keeping assist? Funny how many people try it once or twice and shut it off. With any new tech especially driver assist you have to give it a chance. I have found a lot of utility in the lane keeping now that I'm used to it.
I’ve been daily driving my 06 for a very long time. With the 6-1/2’ bed, I don’t have any real problem getting around. As for driving aids, I don’t really understand the need. I’ve been driving for 44 years now. Why on earth do I need assistance to drive? I don’t foresee a time I’d ever use this feature.
It’s only worth the price if you’re towing something really heavy or hauling something really heavy for business it would be better to have a lower trim edition and be able to make money with it. Otherwise, it’s just a rich persons toy. Interesting to note diesel is cheaper than gas here in South Texas now.
@@MrTonaluv Yeah in particle thinking, but I have many friends that buy these trucks for personal use and they flat out tell me that they would never pay that much for a truck if it weren't for buying through the business.
😂 bring back the good old truck with no cameras, no sensors and no batteries….old trucks are driven just with common sense. Wonder people getting dumb because they are not challenged in their thinking.

Why would an f250 be bad for road tripping Stephen? They are crazy comfortable. Love the channel, keep killing it!

Because he wants to title it so people click on the video. You watched it worked right? Yeah of course it's a beauty road trip vehicle.

I just took my ZR2 HD on a 1k round trip, it did excellent. Adaptive cruise, a lugging diesel, and fairly complaint suspension for the win!
Ford truck is very powerful, worth owning one. Good endurance and tough engine.

Stephen, If I ask nicely, will Ford loan me a $124,000 F-250 for a road trip? 🤔😉
Heavy dutys are the best way to go on road trips in my opinion. Impressive mileage out of this truck. Great video.

Love every thing about the truck except the price, and the very poor turning radius.
Nice video n truck
ford MPG is not real MPG. My ford and toyota at always 1-2mpg optimistic. That said 18mpg is not bad either.
Unless someone can write it off through a business, the price simply doesn't make sense.
