You do not need to do this. Instead of going through the menus to "Export as" > "pdf", use the shortcut Ctrl+P to open up the plot window. After selecting the "DWG To PDF.pc3" plotter/printer, uncheck the option "Plot object lineweights" on the right side.

I had REALLY THICK lines, they vanished after unmarking that option!

I have the opposite issue - I want to add weight to the lines and they always appear as if I had chosen 0.000 line weight.
