    So this only works when you fire at the same time as the target drops?

      That's exactly the point. "demonstrating the effects of gravity -and- on projectile motion"
      It also works no matter what the speed of the projectile is and no matter if the monkey and the hunter are not at the same elevation.

      @@blindleader42 What happens if the monkey starts dropping, and we keep aiming exactly at the monkey, and then pull the trigger?
      Will it hit the money, or we need to aim a little bit further to the monkey dropping direction to allow ammunition to increase its velocity to reach the monkey dropping velocity.

      @@blindleader42 aiming exactly at the monkey after it dropped for 5 seconds. Velocity of dropping monkey at 5 seconds is 9.8*5 m/s

      The World drags monkey down at the rate of 9.8m/s^2 right? So keeps dropping faster and faster as the time passes

      @@peterkovinski8476 You will have to adjust for all of the factors you mentioned. The point of the experiment is to demonstrate that vertical and horizontal velocity are independent of each other, when you start changing the variables, you're introducting things that affect the situation too much. If you fire after the monkey falls, their initial velocity will be different so you need to adjust for that. Technically you'll also be fireing at an angle, assuming that the hunter was at the same height initially and let the monkey fall further, meaning the downward initial velocity will also be much different for the bullet. This experiment only works because the initial downward velocity for the bullet and monkey are the same.
      To figure out how the bullet will be in relation to the monkey, think of just dropping 2 objectws next to each other. If one falls first, or one has some force added while it drops, or they're at different heights, they won't hit the ground at the same time. Applying a horizontal force to potentially make them bump into each other won't change that. This experiment is just showing that 2 objects dropped at the same time will fall at the same speed, even if one of them is moving quickly horizontally.

    does the monkey needs to stay on its place so it can avoid the bullet?

    • @nerengen0054
      @nerengen0054 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not exactly cuz the hunter would be just in a metre difference from the monkey and the bullet will be affected by gravity only by a neglecting amount ......
      So the monkey needs to jump down
