      Just remember not to have unrealistic expectations. Arie is a good husband and dad, but he did make a mistake in the beginning of their relationship and chose another woman over her for weeks before he went back to her. She forgave him because she knew he was a good man that just made a mistake/did a bad thing, and I think that’s REALLY important for people choosing partners to understand. People are not perfect, so be realistic on what kind of person you want as a partner and realize in the end they are only human ♥️

    I love this vlog! My hubby had his vasectomy 26 years ago and we used to joke "anytime, anywhere" (obviously I'm well past childbearing years now) but with three young boys it wasn't always possible, lol but still so glad we went this route. My hubby always said he would be the one to go through the procedure as I did nine months of pregnancy, labor, delivery and recovery multiple times...so he thought it was the least he could do. It really was nice not having to worry about birth control when we were in our 30's and 40's!!

  • @MidwestToolReview

    Just had it done last Friday (May 20th) and I would agree, uncomfortable does not accurately describe the feeling. I too, had to have an extra injection of lidocaine to offset the pain. You can feel and hear them cutting the tubes, and you can visually see and hear the cauterizing process. The procedure took :30 mins or less, but it wasn't a "stroll in the park" process. I'm now 5 days in and I still have some residual pain/discomfort. Initially, I stayed in bed for two days, but by day 3, I was ready to get moving again. No major meds needed; just Tylenol occasionally. I will tell you, as a Black man, I was worried whether or not the Dr. had conducted this procedure on someone of my color, given the fact he was located in a predominantly Caucasian town...lol. I never asked him, but it certainly was in the back of my mind. He was very professional, while having a great sense of humor, so the worry factor went away...well about that at least... I would do it again if I had to, but I'd strongly recommend that any guy considering this procedure, make sure you do your research from a macro to micro level...meaning, gaining perspective to what goes into this procedure, while also researching the physician who is performing the procedure. Maybe I should post a vlog about my experience...

    I had no idea they would even do a vasectomy without putting you under, etc. and I have not been sensitive to those with that kind of pain in the past. Glad I watched this and learned! I know someone who had a vasectomy after their final child and his wife says it was one of the best things they could have done for their relationship when they had little ones. Her words are, "when you have little babies and toddlers running around, you have so much less energy and interest in being intimate that when you do feel that you want to have that with your partner, you need to act, because it could be short-lived" and I think about that concept and am like, "yupp".
    Love your honesty and ability to self-reflect in a positive way and share that. Also, I'm jealous of the trees with leaves blowing in the wind in the reflection. I am in Canada. It is cold. There is snow. Trees are naked. It's as abominable as a snowman.

      A vasectomy at most is two small incisions. Now, a lot are two small pokes. They get more meds for these than people do who get iuds when they literally clamp the cervix into place with prongs.

    • @LaNoturna
      @LaNoturna 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LaNoturna yeah but people who get iuds still pass out from the pain. I had one abnormal Pap smear and I passed out from the pain. The planned parenthood doctor seemed annoyed at me. • @tauntasmom
    @tauntasmom 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Arie,
    OMG do NOT feel bad for being anxious or any of the things you were feeling before you had your surgery, many people are the exact same way I know I am, I start to pass out just thinking about medical procedures even when it is someone else! LOL It is what it is, some people are ok with it and some are just not, that is how the world revolves there is nothing wrong with the fact you had stress.
    I applaud you for going through with the procedure and for being honest and open..... I have to ask, though, do you have the same reaction to having dental work done with Novocaine?
    I ask because I have 3 sons that Novocaine does NOT work on, they have to be put under for any kind of procedures where Novocaine would normally be sufficient, and here is the strange thing I am 64 when I was very little up until I was in my 40s Novocaine always worked, now that I am older it does not work on me if I have dental work done they have to give me so much Novocaine and then keep stopping to give more I just wonder if that might be happening to you?
    Thank you again for being so honest and open, you and your beautiful family are so loved.....please upload more videos when you can, I always look SO forward to them :)

      Vasectomy messes with his hormones, so stop that talk now. This argument of "he doesn't matter cuz I matter" has to stop, it's literally abusive & selfish. Reproductive surgeries is a decision that both husband & wife need to be joint on & both need to fully be vulnerable & talk about the consequences, risks, benefits, costs, what you're willing to do & go through in your body & what those changes have for yourself & your family. Don't treat your body like a dispenser to shut down & turn on. Stop this mentality of "I have issues and that means your issues are non existent & don't matter." Sheesh, it's not a good marriage if you only care about yourself and completely ignore your husband's body. That's so toxic & abusive. His body is not yours to control. Your body is not his to control.

      I was referring to Arie when I wrote “admirable” because men don’t usually talk about their personal lives or personal matters. I have been married a long time, & my husband would rather have his eye poked with a hot needle than share intimate or personal details of our lives.

      @@AS-yz2iz It was just my observation about Arie. It has been my experience that men don't like to talk about personal matters (they like to solve things). I have been married a long time. Estrogen containing birth controls are the ones linked to cancer but now most brith controls on the market only contains a small amount of estrogen or there are options without estrogen now!! But yea I agree this is the best option to prevent having kids! And tying your tubes is more scary for women cus it’s another major surgery and u can still get pregnant and then it’s even more traumatic cus obviously the baby can’t grow if ur tube is tied and they die! So vasectomy is the best option in my opinion honestly!

    My hubby has had 2 vasectomies! He had his first one after he and his ex had 2 children. 13 years later after I (second wife) find out I’m pregnant he gets tested and he had low mobility and low sperm count but he had shooters LOL. His vessel grew back together, his vasectomy was just cut, no tying or cauterizing. Needless to say that was done with the second vasectomy… we have a beautiful 17 year old daughter who is a senior in HS and will be going off to college in the fall to be a teacher!!

    Surprised u felt it. I was told by others that when numbed the procedure wasn’t painful, it was afterwards that they had discomfort.

    how many water bottles can 2 adults use 😧🤭
    What you referred to as 'sleeping gas' is twilight anesthesia. It's not the same as going under for surgery. It's similar to what Michael Jackson was given every night to sleep 🤪

    Yay for being open about health issues - these things should not be taboo! Arie, if you ever have to get another type of procedure done, you may want to ask your doctor for a one-time anti-anxiety med. I have also broken out in shakes and sweats during a procedure, and trying it next time with an anti anxiety med helped tremendously. (And my husband thought I was hilarious on that med 🤪)

    I’ve never heard of a vasectomy being this painful. It sounds like something didn’t go quite right with the actual procedure. Maybe the numbing medicine wasn’t effective. Your friend Troy really should do a follow up with his urologist. Testing the semen is super important to know if the vasectomy worked.

    My husband, who is a doctor, was so weirded out by another man putting a needle in his balls that he brought his own syringe and lidocaine to his appointment and numbed himself in the parking lot before going in. 🤦🏻‍♀️ He ended up having to have the doctor do it again anyway. 🤣
