That’s brilliant thank you. Have you posted your other video yet? I was going to remove my outside tap, take out the check valve, use floe then put a new outside tap, with a check valve back on the van. My idea is to keep the old rap with floe just for drain down
I will do the drain down with my DIY adapter in a few weeks Beverly. I was going to the same as your plan but decided not to buy another tap. Thanks for the comment, you are the first one to do one. If you are at Camber I have piping if you decide to make one.
Thank you, but I’m not. However, since my comment, my plumber told me you can buy taps without a check valve and it should be ok to use all the time without changing back as it’s only for my hosepipe. £5 later and it’s now on my caravan ready for drain down. I paid £27.95 for a brand new portable floe system, so still a lot cheaper than the £70 the professionals want! I think a lot of it is scare tactics
My outside tap for the hosepipe is connected to the pipe which feeds the caravan. My thoughts were, by not having a tap with the check valve, there is a possibility that I could contaminate my water supply should anything decide to go via my tap. I may be wrong. Good luck, I’m sure if the plumber says it’s okay go for it.
@@Bevieevans8 I'm looking at getting the portable Floe drain kit and attaching it to my outside tap (like you, I just use it for the hose pipe). This might seem a daft question but when you flush the water through.....where does it come out? As you can tell I'm relatively new to static caravans and I'm not a plumber either 😁We had all sorts of problems last year with the severe frosts and ended up forking out a fair bit of money to repair/replace various bits.
Once you have it connected to your outside tap, pump 30psi into it. Open each tap inside in turn. When at the psi open the inside tap, the water will flush out through the tap. Wait for the psi again and do the next tap. Not sure if you have seen my other vid, it will demonstrate the procedure. Hope this helps.
I got it off Ebay. Cost about £9 a couple of years ago. Can't remember who from, but in the 1st vid, if you freeze frame it might show the sender. Any probs let me know and I will have a look. I'm sure there are plenty out there, but the one I have is a good one. Thank you for liking it. Hope it helped/helps.
