  • @connorkonen5770
    @connorkonen5770 4 ปีที่แล้ว +58

    All it is is discipline. Plane and simple. However, if it’s an Addiction, then it needs to be treated with a professional just like any other addiction. That’s what I did, and I’ve been sober for over 4 months. I don’t think about it anymore, or write in my journal about it. I just focus on improving the rest of my life.
    You’ll have to focus on the recovery for the first few months as it is very difficult to get through all the withdrawals. But once you get through those and learn how to handle them and to live through them, you start to improve other areas of your life and that’s when you need to stop thinking about it.
    The streak doesn’t matter. It’s not about that. It’s about building a new way of life and getting rid of the idea that you need sex, which surprise....you don’t!
    You don’t need sex. It’s possible to be happy without it. I’m much happier now than I was 4 months back. I’m still not very good with women, but I’m putting my time and energy into things that will actually help my life such as finances, and working on my body.
    Do I still get urges? Yes. They happen all the time. But they don’t happen because I need to suppress my anxiety or depression or any other issues I might have. They happen because I’m human and because I’m always going to have sexual urges.
    Just think of it this way:
    There are systems that you need to put in place in your life in order to be successful at whatever you want to do.
    If you have an addiction to porn, that needs to be the first system you put in place: Porn recovery.
    Once you work on that (and only that) for 2 to 3 months, then you can start to build other habits like better sleep, fitness, nutrition, meditation, whatever other life style habit you want to build.
    Notice: you can only do one at a time. There is no doing it all it once. It never works.
    This shit takes time.
    Don’t ever forget that.

      Exactly. If I'd counted days when I stopped smoking I would've never made it. It's about 4 years now and I actually struggled to remember if it was 3 or 4 years. Just not a part of my life anymore and I never even think about it. It's almost like it was a totally different person who did the smoking and I'd have to become that person again to relapse but that person is long gone and there is no possibility of relapse because of that. I never smoked. It was that other guy.

Once you become focused on other things, truly focused, you're golden. Put your time and energy, into something else.

    One thing I've noticed is that I would never relapse when I was grinding. I was never bored. Boredom is what does it for me. Breaks from school and summers are when I would relapse. During the regular school year, I was good. What happens is when I have a ton of free time and nothing to do, that's when I relapse. So focusing on OTHER THINGS, and putting time, effort, and energy into them is what does it. It isn't thinking "Oh I'm not going to do this" all the time it's "I am going to do this INSTEAD" with the time I have.

    Good message.
    This is one of the realizations that helped me get on my journey 3 or so years ago.
    Alhamdulilah, as long as you stay productive or occupy your mind with something beneficial, even just socializing with brothers, it's not time wasted. Always think of the now and the future, what you could choose to enhance it with the permission of God. It helps to cut off bad influences as well til you become stronger, and even after your stronger you should keep it all cut off.
    I can thank you and say, you're one of the primary reasons why I was able to cut that bullcrap off. Feeding illusions is a huge waste of time, better spent on a productive skill or hobby, even perception "sports" such as gaming, target practice or just having a paintball fight with the boys.
    Dopamine is a helluva drug, and if you stay stuck around it, or any loser that condones aggregate dopamine supply, you'll end up being a lab rat.

    My guy. Great advice in this video.
    Its crazy how I kept relapsing after changing my whole life around with healthier activities such as body building and diet change, and bettering my career outside of work; I even started going back to college. All this going on and I relapsed again 4 times today. I keep having the same longevity of streaks (5 days) with some bursts of 2 week every few months. I kept thinking every time I’d get an urge that ultimately led to my failure for that day “Why can’t i just use this energy to work on the many things I have going on right now?”
    I never understood why. Well now I hope this helps. Im going to get rid tracking the days and just live the clean life away from pmo. If this doesnt help, I know that persistence is the only other way to beat it even if I keep relapsing.
    Stay strong brothers.

    I resonate with this very strongly because the time where I was the strongest and it was the easiest to say no to porn was when I was extremely passionate and zeroed in on what I loved; which was working out and training MMA. Then some time passed; I got a girlfriend, I got back into religion, I started school, I was constantly working, and there was less and less time for what I was passionate about. Soon porn found its way back into my mind as a result of built-up anxiety and stress. It became the pill I regrettably swallowed to feel better. So due to the removal of what I loved and was passionate about, porn reemerged and to this day, Ive been trying to get back to where I was and abstain from it. But its been so difficult and this video was the eye opener that made me realize that in the past I wasnt actively trying not to masturbate, I just had a passion that was must bigger and engulfed porn to where it wasnt even something I cared to think about. My passion was my stress-relief and my focus. Porn either happened or didnt happen but I was in control of it ultimately, and it was gone more than it was there.
    Thank you Aanghel, you have no idea the impact your videos have had on my life at different times and once again, a video of yours appears to help me solve another problem. I truly am grateful for what you do, putting these out. You are a blessing bro. 🙏🏾

    What you resist persist. Amen. Man, I struggled so much with my weight, emotional, and binge eating. Struggled is an understatement. After so much pain man. So much self doubt. What worked? Letting go. I just PUSHED so hard against the flow of things. I resisted TOO hard. It kept biting me in the ass and I would always question my capabilities when I tried so hard and I failed. Letting go and not trying so hard sounds moronic to some. But it freaking works. Finding the right balance and right methodology isn't that simple. Letting go, or to stop resisting does not in anyway mean to give up. To do what ever you please. Just let go of resistance, flow with your emotions, flow with life. Love you brother.

      I wouldn't attribute the "coming out" of your confidence to your purity, but more so to the advancement of the self. It's true that ejaculation makes you lethargic due to the meaningless waste of useful and imperative nutrients, but by tying your cumulative success to what isn't that deep to begin with, your hindering long term success. A few months ago, a lesser ver. of me experienced what you're describing and over time it manifests itself as a "placebo" as opposed to what it should be: growth. Begin to take full accountability for your actions, as you mend your Personality (ID) as the Ego.

I get so much social anxiety, low on energy, headache, not interested in anything. Before 2018, i didnt even know whats m@sturbation and thats when i enjoyed my life and everything. Many people are so deep-routed in their addictions to porn, that they literally can't fight with their brains. The dopamine feedback loop is vicious. The BEST way to get out of it is to entirely switch up your routine. Going on vacation with a group of friends and/or family can be the start of a complete lifestyle reset. You're forced to be around people and can't just disappear into a room and binge in front of a screen for hours on end. Sure, thoughts will come in your head when you walk around and see attractive women, but as long as you recognize it for what it is, time will do the healing.

    • @riasb
      @riasb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Shaytan only gets you when you are on the right path, he has no use for those misguided bc they are playing themselves anyway. Understand that this is a part of life, it’s normal, it’s a test and a way to get reward from it is to endure and persist through the process to become a better version of you. How are your intentions? How’s your connection with God? Is the path you’ve chosen really what you chose? It is tiring, you’re right but help is Near. Always go back to the Source for strength. Stay away from sugar or generally anything that makes you weak or lose self-discipline (emotional control over yourself). You’re not alone for sure. If you fall, get up... don’t think twice get back up. Surround yourself with a better environment. What are your triggers? Your mind plays a lil trick to get you back into tour comfort zone, it’s essentially trying to protect you from fear of failure by failing you from the beginning. Show love and compassion towards yourself, understanding that we all have our weak moments but this doesn’t make us less lovable or worthy of a better life. If you want something hold tight onto that rope and don’t turn back by staying focused on what you do want, it is possible. Make a plan for when things go south, refer to “aanghel’s” comment. What are the benefits and consequences of what your lower self wants you to do? Understanding all of this is crucial bc if consequences outweigh the monetary gratification then you’re set. Intentions are very important, it can carry you through hella tough times. Bc with intentions comes consistency in action and then you can have healthier habits which will take place of the unhealthy one’s. You are capable of having a better life.

I thought of starting a new streak today but again relapsed today. I got into m@sturbation back in 2018 when i was 17. Now i am 19 and my life became horrible. I am extremely addicted. I do it 4-5 times a day sometimes even 6 times. I get so much social anxiety, low on energy, headache, not interested in anything. Before 2018, i didnt even know whats m@sturbation and thats when i enjoyed my life and everything. I just can't enjoy anything since 2018 till present. I am fed up of myself. I wish i could become like before 2018 again.

      I hear you! At least in my experience, you progress, get better, improve overall, then shit happens. Negativity, in all forms (people / things) will always try to attach itself to someone/something surviving on a high level. So things are not getting "worse" per say, you're just surviving on a higher level and conquering bigger obstacles, which only enforces your ability to handle life. YOU GOT THIS! STAY FOCUSED, KING! 💪

    Yeah one of the keys is to stop counting the days. You shouldnt know exactly how many days your latest streak is. You should have a rough idea of when you stopped. If you count what day you are on it constantly reminds you that porn exists. The idea is to try to a) not think about it and b) try to forget it exists

      Yup and both those will be done by focusing your attention and energy onto something else that’s truly important to you

    Yessir, I feel like we all come to that realization sometime or another, took me 1 1/2 years to realize once you get an urge to just ignore it and not give the feeling any meaning, it’s just energy.... ENERGY
