Free train service in Ghana - from Takoradi to Tarkwa.

- Ghana Railway Development Authority(GRDA) has issued certification to Ghana Railway Company Limited(GRCL) to Commence Commercial train services to commute passengers from the Western Regional Capital(Takoradi) to Tarkwa.
The three day free train services starts today 28th of January ,2020 and will be ending on 31st January.
Vicemen TV was present to take coverage and most importantly interacted with the passengers and the workers of Ghana Railways on the Impacts of the new Railways on Takoradi and Tarkwa highlighting on Safety, Traffic and Cost Effectiveness.

It seems like a good initiative. However I don't see any public safty measures in place especially for the school children. I didn't see any CCTV, for crime prevention, anti social activities or any railway worker ensureing all people boarding the train are all safely on board and to signal for the train to take off.

So sad that after 3 wasted years, the public is being deceived that Nana Addo has has revamped the rail line from Takoradi to Tarkwa. Mahama built a new standard gauge line from Takoradi through Sekondi to Kojokrom. The redy of the line is the old one with wooden slippers that the company changed a few wooden slippers. This line is only used by Rail vans that carry bauxite and manganese. That is why the new trains (coaches) brought by Mahama can only ply up to Kojokrom and cannot use the old wobbly and dangerous line from there to Tarkwa. It is a recipe for derailment. Nana Addo is putting the lives of Ghanaians in danger. They only talk but have done nothing in the railway sector but for Mahama new Tema to Mpakaba line which Mahama started, and whch they are only supervising and unashamedly making noise about.
Whether Mahama, Akuffo Addo, Kwame Nkrumah or whosoever made this possible, can't we just put politics aside on some issues and appreciate that our country is moving forward. After all, it's the country's money that's been used for these projects,#letsmoveGhanaforward,#motherGhana1st, #cheers
