We're into it! Really big on speculative biology. There was some really neat stuff in Richard Dawkins' "Ancestor's Tale" that discusses interesting ideas about why certain biological adaptations tended to evolve in different branches. And we've definitely done some research for a quantum physics video. This is a rabbit hole we've spent quite some time in; from Richard Feynman to Brian Greene.

You are right in that, if the formula held any validity , a paperclip should be able to boil all the water in lake Tahoe . And since it can't , and never will , the formula is complete crap. Math is not physics. Mass is a property of matter and energy. This equation is just the conversion factor which gives the mass of a quantity of energy. A property is not the equivalent of the thing of which it is a property. Redness is not equivalent to an apple. Mass is always conserved.

What happens to the second in c? I mean if you are saying E = M x 299,792,458 meters per second squared. If you multiply 299,792,458 times it self you still have meters squared and seconds squared. What happens to the time?
