It looks like libraries don't like escalators !
In Lyon's library, there's an old Otis escalator from 1974 (a typical narrow Otis escalator), shut down in the mid-2000s ! I remember riding it when I was a child ! Today it's still here, lying behind bookshelves. th-cam.com/video/A0MbLojJaA0/w-d-xo.html (start at 1:28)
