    There is one other nice thing about synergetic control and that is, once the machine is set up (wire speed trimmed +/-) its now one dial control, ie; rise the voltage to weld thicker material and the wire speed automatically follows the adjustment.. A Lot of Synergistic machines also have waveform control (adjustable inductance) def nice to have for shaping the puddle!

    Had a chance to try out the Fronius welders today. That synergic setting is amazing. You can still make mistakes if you go off track, but If your on your game it helps 10 fold. I tried the 270i mig and the tp150 battery arc welder. It actually gave me a better feel for what i`m trying to achieve. I can`t wait to get back onto my simple machines and see how its helped.

    Hey while you are on the subject of technology, how about welding hoods.. I FINALLY stepped up and bought a new TruSight helmet and the difference is amazing... optical clarity was something I had never had like this... I always had issues trying to see my puddle and had no idea it was my helmets fault... what a joy to fix...

    I always use synergic when I have a one off part and no practice material around. it usually does the job. sometimes it’s a little hot but thanks to everlasts mts 251 si, I can fine tune the settings on the fly and I’m up and running. BOOYAH!!

    I hope that you will have more to teach about the synergy processes.

      There is nothing special about it. It's just preprogrammed settings on welding machine. For example: you choose wire, gas, whatever amperage you want and machine will automatically adjust wire speed and voltage so you won't need to play with machine each time to setup it for specific materials. (You can always go to manual mode if you don't like synergic)

    Thanks for the helpful and interesting video! Maybe welding is different, but generally when you combine things among the possible results are an additive effect (combined effect = sum of individual effects) or a synergistic effect (combined effect > sum of individual effects).

    I'm working with it as well and eventually I had the setting that came closest, however... I don't like it. The way I figured it out now is that the Voltage determines the width of the weld and the wire is how much amps it gets linked to the wire feed. I learned to weld the old style and this is just frustrating to me as when I finally come close and want to adjust the amperage a tiny bit I have to take a ,1 step which instantly changes everything again. It may be handy for those that start welding but for me it's a way to get set up generally but without control to fine-tune it and specifically for the surface shape of the weld. I must say that for pipes you can use the manipulator's speed to correct that a bit but it also means that at times your slack will interfere with it. While the idea might be good, it's taking away full control over the weld. While that is not as important to a fence in your garden, it's a different story for pipe welding. Just my 2 cents on this. Have a great workweek all

    Have a Miller multimatic 215 sure wish they did more testing with it. Pretty much every setting is way cold. Running 220 or 110 both are cold. Still love it but would be awesome if they had it slightly more dialed. It does give some adjustment when using autoset mode but I'll have to crank the volts all the way up and wire speed done a bit to get it to work perfectly. Welded a rouge fab bender using the auto set looking at the welds they were slightly cold and I should have trusted my better judgement and went to manual settings. It is nice just being able to hit some buttons when changing metal thickness though just wish they spent a little more time dialing it in.

    synergic welding is essentially a set if inputs and outputs surmounted on a base plate of prefamulated amulite. Basically the only new principle involved is that instead of power being generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes it is produced by the modial interaction of magneto reluctance and capacitive duractance.
    ..any way - synergic welding is completely derivative of turbo encabulator technology and its more recent cousin the retro encabulator . The main advantage is the reduction of side fumbling and its applicability for welding novur trunions.

    I work at a stainless steel industry and use a wfx 300 synergic mig welder to weld platforms and I find it quite hard to use, I am sorta new to welding in general as I have an Aprentaceship there but my stainless steel tig welding is beautiful i must say. Any tips and tricks for anything about stainless steel synergic mig welding?

  • @FrancisR420
    @FrancisR420 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a MIG that just has one knob that controls both amperage and wire feed and you just set the thickness, does that count as synergic?

    The thing about SW is like any modern technology. You get out of it what you put into it. It's known as GIGO. Garbage In, Garbage Out. You still need skill, knowledge of the materials being welded to take advantage of the features and limitations in modern welding equipment.

    Miller pretty much has the same thing on the 211 with the autoset feature
    Lincoln mp200 has it too

    Pre-programmed welding parameters have their place. It's a good starting point, especially for someone who's just starting to learn. However, i don't think they should be relied on for everything. Every situation is ever so slightly different and will need different settings. Sure, a preset can give perfect result on freshly cleaned pieces that a robot welds, but in 'real life' there are way too many variables. Something as simple as what pattern you do with the MIG gun (ZZZZZZZZ, eeeeee, 888888, that sort of thing) can be the difference between good and bad. Can't really program the machine for everything.

    Using a Lincoln Powermig 350 for the last decade in structural tower fabrication... never use the synergy modes. They just don't pass x-ray or destructive bend on a50 steel of any width, synergy parameters are just too far off. This rig has been serviced many times.

    • @Neishy4AGTE
      @Neishy4AGTE 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would think Lincoln would be pretty good too, too many other variables I guess?

    • @Neishy4AGTE
      @Neishy4AGTE 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I guess it doesn't surprise me though the recommended settings in the wire specs never seem to work either.

    • @Alteriukas
      @Alteriukas 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's more likely you don't know how to properly use it.

    • @Neishy4AGTE
      @Neishy4AGTE 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Pr that didn't really make much sense, its contact tip to work distance, period. Yes you have to take it into account if your tip is inside the shroud, but that doesnt make it some second type of stick out. Flush is good unless you need to run high stick out with wind around and you want your shroud closer to avoid porosity, usually with gas shielded flux core.

    • @Neishy4AGTE
      @Neishy4AGTE 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Pr you are correct, I'm just saying where the shroud is doesn't matter, 30 mm from contact tip to the work piece is the same whether the tip is way inside the shroud or flush. Just makes it seem different.

    I thought it was a Volt/Amp feedback loop that adjusted wire feed speed to maintain the ideal parameters ? Also you never got back to the "we will get back to this later" thing.

    All you have to do to mess up the program is to use an off brand wire with a different metallurgy. Surprising how that can create some spatter and a rough edge....

      xz empt I dont know who else has an issue hearing it, but I'd suggest there may be a problem with your device. It's at high volume on all of mine and nobody else has mentioned it. If you tell me what you're viewing the video on, I'll look into why you cant hear it.

      The Fabrication Series my shop is noisey, but, this series is the only one I have to use a headset to be able to hear. I mean, I'll be the first to tell you my device has its problems lmao but the speaker isn't one of them.

    i don't think you got it, certainly not from your 'explanation' - it means if four things are combined the result is four PLUS, not just four. You get more out than you put in, in effect.

      Yup.
      Back in the seventies (old fart alert ;-) ), I had a poster that said words to the effect of -
      "I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realise what I said is not what I meant." ;-)
      An expresion I have had cause to refer to many times, from both sides...

    Synergic Settings ??
    If your machine has an OFF setting for Synergic.
    Use it.
    If you can,t weld without Synergic.
    Learn how to weld first.

  • @xyz4469
    @xyz4469 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is not so clever to trust an engineer and a programmer to produce te welds you want. Good for beginners, bad if your imagination of a good weld does not match the engineers imagination you are lost.
