  • Step into the glamorous world of high society as Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, ties the knot with his beloved Olivia Hinson on that fateful day, June 7th, 2024. While all eyes were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Prince William, who served as an usher, little did they know that the real spectacle would unfold among the fashion choices of the Grosvenor family.
Natalia Grosvenor, the Duchess of Westminster and the groom's mother, made a bold statement in a vibrant pink dress. However, her fashion sense seemed to have ventured into uncharted territory. Atop her head, a hat that appeared to be having an existential crisis, torn between resembling a burst of fireworks and a curious sea urchin. And if that weren't enough, her choice of shoes left onlookers perplexed. While her daughter-in-law opted for elegant blue velvet shoes to contrast with her white wedding gown, the Duchess attempted to capture a similar vibe but fell short. The result? A clash of colors that looked like the lights had gone out in her closet, and she grabbed whatever she thought might match. It was a comical ensemble that left fashion enthusiasts scratching their heads and wondering if the Duchess had somehow managed to exempt herself from the rules of the fashion industry.
Not to be outdone, Lady Tamara Grosvenor, the sister of the groom, made her own unique fashion statement. Picture this: Lady Tamara, awakening suddenly on the morning of her brother's wedding, realizing she was still wrapped in her cozy quilt. In the interest of saving time, she decided to incorporate her makeshift bedding into her fashion choice. Embracing the heavily embroidered gown, she donned her quilt, hoping to add a touch of glamour. To further distance herself from looking like a Russian nesting doll, she hastily grabbed leftover holiday tinsel and fashioned it into a hairpiece. Alas, her creation resembled more of a disco version of a bird's nest than an elegant tiara of golden leaves. One couldn't help but wonder if Lady Tamara's fashion choices were a deliberate attempt to stand out or a result of a fashion emergency in the making.
As the day progressed, it became evident that the Grosvenor family women shared a peculiar sense of fashion. Lady Viola Grosvenor, another member of the clan, missed the mark with her attire for her brother's wedding. While her sister, Lady Edua, radiated elegance befitting a high-society affair, Viola seemed to have chosen a red frock more suitable for a casual picnic than a wedding of this magnitude. The puffy sleeves and longer hemline did little to elevate the light fabric's casual vibe, and the addition of kitten heels failed to salvage the overall look. To add to the less-than-sophisticated atmosphere, Viola decided to forgo a formal hat and instead adorned her head with a pale blue headband, matching her handbag. It was an ensemble that left fashion enthusiasts pondering the choices made by the Grosvenor women.
Amidst the fashion rollercoaster, the bride herself, Olivia Hinson, made a stunning appearance in a custom-designed gown by renowned designer Emma Victoria Pain. The gown, an original creation, boasted a bold keyhole cutout at the back, teasing a glimpse of Hinson's radiant charm. The veil, meticulously crafted with hand-drawn lace detailing, paid homage to the veil worn by Hinson's great-great-grandmother during her own nuptials in the 1800s. The silk crepe satin train, a magnificent 2 meters in length, cascaded behind her as she walked with grace. However, fate had its own plans for Hinson's grand entrance. Unbeknownst to her, a gust of wind awaited her at Chester Cathedral. As she stepped out of the car, the veil and train were caught in a tempestuous dance, enveloping her in a whirlwind of fabric. With each step, she struggled to free herself from the tangled ensemble, turning what should have been a moment of elegance into a slightly embarrassing, yet memorable, episode.
In this tale of fashion highs and lows, the Grosvenor wedding showcased an array of daring choices and unexpected mishaps. As the fashionable elite whispered and gossiped, one thing was certain: the Grosvenor family had managed to captivate the attention of fashion enthusiasts worldwide, leaving a lasting impression on the annals of wedding fashion history.

And who died and put you in charge of what's fashionable or not? It is obvious that being an American ( going by your accent) you would be used to garish, over-the-top 'fashion' and not the understated STYLE of the British upper class. They have style, without trying too hard. You should learn from them.

Well, it is a custom for a royal wedding not to overdess, not to take attention from the bride.

They all look beautiful. British fashion and style is very different than USA. British take into account season, family history and type of material decided before the occasion. The tradition in UK is the bride must wear something blue, hence her choice of blue shoes which were gifted to her. This is called STYLE and CLASS. You should do some research before you comment.

Makes one think that the Duke has an ex-girlfriend that isn’t taking his marriage well, at all. I thought it looked like a lovely wedding. Best wishes to them both.

I think their choice of clothes is showing that they are down to earth people, who don’t go crazy for ridiculously priced dresses. In fact they all looked lovely . My only criticism would be , that 2 bridesmaids were there to carry her train and vail . That poor girl was fighting a losing battle.
