In 1997, after episode 26, Evangelion became a truly legendary anime with the second wave of confusion. There were those who watched the movie and worshipped Hideaki Anno as a god, those who were simply bewildered by its content, and even some who sent him death threats online. In terms of popularity, it is often said that it matched or even surpassed the peak periods of Attack on Titan or Demon Slayer. At that time, I remember its release coincided with Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke, whose tagline was "Live," while the tagline for this movie was "I wish everyone would just die," which was strikingly contrasting.
OKAY, so, basically, an alien race sent out seeds/eggs to other planets to generate life, sometimes white ones, sometimes black ones, some idiot alien accidently sent two to Earth, which is a no no as it causes conflict between the two eggs but luckily they always include a failsafe, the spear which stops the egg from doing it's thing. No, this is not shown in the tv show or movie. I hear it's shown in an obscure PS2 Evangelion game or some Evangelion Bible or something. The creepy old men's goal was to unite all souls into a single entity, but Shinji was like "but if there's no pain, there's no happiness" and decided it's better to have individualism even if it means people develop walls over their hearts again.
Its still so funny to me that even with the line "But i cant get into my Eva, there is nothing I can do" people still think Shinji couldve just gone into it and helped Asuka lmao. Shinji physically couldn't get in cause it was submeged in hardened bakelite, he only got acess to he entry plug after Asuka's battle had ended.
EoE was absolute peak 90s anime, and oddly enough a cherished childhood memory for me (was 13 or 14 when I saw this IIRC)... God I miss it so much... first time seeing Akira, first time seeing EoE, first year of the PS1, first year of the N64... just the general first experience(s) of japanese anime and video gaming and absorbing japanese media in all its wildly obscure glory T_T
Please explain the End of Evangelion movie: Sure in short, it has no official explanation, the explanation is given by each person with each different vision and they are all valid explanations. 😂
I mean in short third impact was complete but Shinji made that if person want to continue to exist they can return in phisical form Correct me if i am wrong
great reaction, i HIGHLY encourage you to watch the rebuild series (Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo, Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon a Time) they basically tell the story of another timeline and are all super well made and high quality.
Shinji decided to reverse Instrumentality, but so far, only Shinji and Asuka have chosen to return from Instrumentality. Others can return too, but there's no guarantee that they will. There are plenty of videos that can help you better understand the second half of TEOE.
50:20 As long as you have the spirit to visualize yourself in your heart you can bring back your human form, Rei explains. And we all know who has the biggest ego in Eva, thats why she comes back first with Shinji Id imagine. Well spotted to remember Reis ghost being in episode one as well, in my mind since ghost Rei is basically a god, time and space means little to nothing and is her saying goodbye and hello to Shinji, if anything its a nice callback to tie in the beginning and shows how this ending was planned from the start.
Bro no one understands that Shinji literally couldn’t get in the fkn robot physically because of the hardened bakelite was covering the Eva until he could after Asuka got destroyed.💀
@@VenReact Bruh I wish they could’ve made it more clear but whatever it’s all good dude. It’s just everybody trash talks to Shinji because he’s relatable in the situation he’s not invincible, he’s not some generic badass protagonist and he makes some mistakes but he so real when he talks and is scared and depressed can you blame him after the messed up stuff he’s been through, that’s why people hate him people forget the kid is 14 years old like give my boy a break.🗣️💀 Have a good day.
Why Shinji choke Asuka again? hmm...Maybe because it was his last individual feeling with her? Also its very clear that it was her "rejection" in that coffe scene that make him finally break. But note that this time instead of rejecting him again, she stop him with a soft touch... to finnally say... "disgusting" (Kimochi Warui), in an interview with the director he stated that the last line was improvised by Asuka VA, he dint like the revised script line so he asked the VA what wuld she say if suddently awake next to a guy that masturbated wile she was sleeping... and the rest is history XD... Why were Rei's everywere?, well thats part of instrumentality, its means instrumentality was happening also at that moment. Yes, even in ep 1... XD
This is my personal favourite Sci-fi/Apocalypse film. The framing and shot-composition are phenomenal, real grown-up directing applied to animation.

Shinji physically couldn't get into his Eva during the beginning while Asuka was fighting; it was covered in solid bakelite
lot of people somehow miss that

So nice of Shinji to visit his friend in the hospital like that o_o

Some of the most fun about the series is watching the youtube analysis videos after the final two episodes and the movie.
Yeah I watched so many analysis videos lmao
You're only missing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time the "Final" ending

"that song is son random"
.
,
"that song makes this scene better wow"....
It felt out of place in the moment when I was watching it hahah but i get the importance of the song now
Listen to the lyrics of the song playing and you'd realize it very much does fit.
Oh yeah the lyrics definitely fit, the vibe of the song though just caught me off guard haha
aaawyis, we're here!

There’s so much going on it’s hard to realize that on the first watch haha

The spear that hit asuka is a replica (100 % legit)
Ahh okay how tf did they replicate it though

Still one of the top animes

u should watch rebuildddd evangelion
The rebuilds are coming hahaha just needed a break from Eva
7:04 That's because AOT was heavily inspired by Evangelion
I can see that
