I became a Christian in 1990 & immediately starting listening to contemporary Christian music. Later went to those kinds of churches but God started working on me and I realized most of what we were singing came from churches with bad theology . I now attend a reformed 1689 church and our pattern for worship is not based on music. We hear scripture , pray, sing, recite as a congregation , hear more scripture, sing, study scripture, sing , pray, Lord’s Supper, benediction, pray then lunch.
Thank you, this is helpful. I struggle with worship becoming so man centered and repetitive. I'm asking the Lord to teach me to worship Him in Spirit and Truth every day and to learn to set my eyes on Christ no matter what is happening.

Worship is adoration and honour given to God, which is the first act of the virtue of religion. Publish worship is given to God in the Church by the celebration of the Paschal Mystery of Christ in the liturgy.
Where can I find an example of a service that meets the standards set out here?
Most 1689 churches.
Jesus is the Lord God, Everlasting Father, as Isaiah said in 9:6, seeking Jesus for the answer is the best way to be guided into all truth, no matter what you are seeking an answer on.

While I unequivocally agree with the pursuit of solemn worship music or preaching that is devoid of emotion un biblical, the Bible talk Miriam leading a procession singing and dancing in worship. King David danced before the ark of the lord.Paul .Somewhere the book of psalms commands us to shout to the Lord. Paul urges the saints in Philippi to rejoice. While I embrace the biblical characteristic in the fruit of the Spirit which is self control or temperance what the men you referenced are calling for is without doubt the .most narrow view of humanity I'm of African descent.
